MAZARRON FC 3 CARTAGENA FC UCAM 2
Mazarron scored a 92nd minute goal to gain an important victory against fourth placed Cartagena FC UCAM in an entertaining game at the Estadio Municipal.
After a quiet start the game burst to life in the 13th minute. Chino hit a superb free kick which was well saved by the visiting keeper but Raul was on hand to stab the rebound home. Two minutes later Juan Pedro was forced into action with a good save diving to his left to keep Cartagena at bay and Mazarron then again went close with an overhead kick from Boudia which went just wide of the far post.
Cartagena equalised after 20 minutes when a crossfield ball was well controlled by full back Jesus who hit a fierce shot past Juan Pedro into the roof of the net. Mazarron had a goal disallowed on 28 minutes when Jimmy's cross was forced over the line by Ruben only to be denied by the linesman's flag.
However, Cartagena took the lead two minutes later when a free kick from the half way line was headed down to central defender Pablo who made no mistake from six yards. The visitors were now having the better of the game but Mazarron delighted their supporters with an equaliser six minutes before half time. Chino's free kick was headed on to Jimmy on the left and his cross was superbly headed into the top corner by new signing Dani Morallis.
Mazarron began the second half brightly with a spectacular overhead kick by Jimmy saved by the Cartagena keeper. They forced two corners in quick succession and should after taken the lead on 63 minutes. A superb through ball by substitute Domingo found Ruben running clear of the Cartagena defence but he placed his shot disappointingly wide of the far post.
Ruben then had another half chance but his shot was deflected off his own player to safety before Juan Pedro, not for the first time this season, kept Mazarron in the game with a superb save. Severiano's fierce shot was heading for the top corner when the Mazarron keeper leapt high to turn the ball over the bar for a corner.
While the Mazarron supporters were happy to settle for a point against their high flying visitors, substitute Steven had other ideas. In the second minute of added time, he chased a hopeful long ball some 40 yards, outpacing the Cartagena full back before squaring the ball back to Raul who turned the ball home from an acute angle. The goal sparked wild celebrations from both players and supporters alike.
Team: Juan Pedro; Pedro (Domingo); Raso; Juan Andreo; Raul Torrano; Boudia; Dani Morallis; Ruben (Steven); Chino; Raul; Jimmy (Jose).
Man of the Match; Chino

PLUS ULTRA 0 MAZARRON FC 2
Mazarron moved up to ninth position in the league with a 2-0 away win at Plus Ultra but the result could have been different had it not been for a superb performance by Mazarron keeper Juan Pedro.
He was called into action as early as the ninth minute when a right wing corner was headed goalwards and he made an excellent save diving to his right to push the ball away. At the other end Cesar' s pass to Jimmy saw the Mazarron striker round the goalkeeper only to see his shot deflected into the side netting for a corner.
On eighteen minutes a mistake by Pedro let in Alejandro but the Plus Ultra's striker's fierce drive went just wide of the post. At this point Plus Ultra were well on top with Mazarron unable to make much impression on the home defence. After 22 minutes a Plus Ultra free kick was headed downwards from point blank range but Juan Pedro again made a great save although the linesman was flagging for offside.
However, it was Mazarron who took the lead against the run of play on 30 minutes. A superb ball out of defence by Raso found Chino on the right. His cross into the centre was met by Ruben who turned inside and hit a left foot shot into the roof of the net.
It was 2-0 after 37 minutes when a dangerous left wing corner from Ruben was spectacularly fired into his own net by Julio to give Mazarron a half time lead that they barely deserved.
The second half began with a fierce volley by Raul Torrano which the Plus Ultra keeper just managed to claw over the bar for a corner. Mazarron forced two more early corners and on 53 minutes Jimmy just failed to get on the end of an excellent cross from Cesar.
Juan Pedro made another good save on 64 minutes and at the other end Jimmy's clever control saw him hitting a right foot shot just over the bar as the game opened up. Three minutes later Cesar saw a shot deflected wide after an excellent pass from Boudia.
Plus Ultra were striving to regain control of the game but Mazarron continued to have chances with substitute Raul glancing Ruben's corner just wide of the far post. However it was Juan Pedro in action again as he continued to deny Plus Ultra the goal they probably deserved with more excellent saves in the 80th minute and in stoppage time.
Team: Juan Pedro; Pedro (David); Juan Andreo; Raso; Marcos; Boudia; Ruben; Raul Torrano; Chino (Raul); Cesar (Jose); Jimmy
Man of the Match: Juan Pedro.

MAZARRON FC 0 CF MOLINA 0
Mazarron made the early running and in the third minute Jimmy's cross from the left was dropped by the Molina keeper but Cesar could only hoot into the side netting from the rebound.. Two minutes later Boudia's shot from 25 yards was only parried to Jimmy who shot just over the bar.
Molina came more into the game and former Mazarron striker Jose had a couple of half chances before the visitors missed a great chance to take the lead after 20 minutes. An excellent cross from the left was somehow headed wide by Galo from almost on the goal line.
On 27 minutes a through ball by Raul Torrano was well controlled by Jimmy who swivelled and hit a right foot shot against the post and out for a goal kick. At the other end Mazarron keeper Pablo dropped a right wing corner but the defenders managed to clear the ball after a goalmouth scramble. Both teams continued to attack in search of an opening goal but the interval arrived with the score at 0-0.
Mazarron thought they should have had a penalty five minutes into the second half when Cesar appeared to be dragged to the ground but the referee waved play on. A minute later Javier headed over the bar for Molina and then a Mazarron breakaway saw Ruben try a speculative shot from 25 yards with Raul Jimmy and Cesar better placed to receive a pass.
On 57 minutes an excellent pass by Ruben saw Cesar cutting in from the left but his shot was saved by the Molina keeper. Mazarron came close to breaking the deadlock on 65 minutes when a long cross from the half way line was headed down by Raul and Cesar's shot was deflected onto the bar before being headed clear for a corner.
Despite creating a number of chances it was 87 minutes before Molina were able to force Pablo into making a save and he was more than equal to it diving superbly to his left. Then in injury time a miskick by Raso saw a grateful Pablo drop on to the ball under pressure from the Molina attack.
It was an entertaining game on a pleasant balmy evening and, on the balance of play, a draw was a fair result.
Team: Pablo; Raul Torrano; Raso; Juan Andreo; Marcos; Boudia; Ruben (Mariano); Koko; Cesar (Steven); Raul; Jimmy.
Man of the Match: Boudia

ALCANTARILLA FC 1 MAZARRON FC 1
Mazarron came from behind to earn a point in a scrappy game away to Alcantarilla FC.
Already without key players Boudia and Koko through suspension Mazarron suffered a further blow when the home team took the lead in the fourth minute. A through ball found Salvador clear on the right and, with the Mazarron defenders vainly appealing for offside he rounded Juan Pedro before placing the ball into the empty net.
Things got worse for Mazarron when the influential Jimmy was injured after just eight minutes and had to be replaced by Cesar. On 22 minutes Mazarron were denied a blatant penalty when Cesar's shirt was pulled as he attempted to get on the end of Ruben's pass. A minute later Chino was injured following a late tackle and he had to leave the field to be substituted by David.
Raul headed straight at the Alcantarilla keeper from an excellent David cross but the young substitute then miskicked at the other end and, fortunately for Mazarron, the Alcantarilla striker blazed the ball well over the bar.
The referee was annoying the travelling supporters by failing to caution any of the home players for three nasty tackles and this was compounded when he booked captain Juan Andreo for what appeared to be an innocuous challenge.
The visitors equalised on 44 minutes when Ruben's pass to Cesar saw the substitute hit a firm drive into the corner of the net.
Mazarron started the second half well and dominated the early stages. Another good run down the left by Cesar saw his shot deflected for a corner. On 60 minutes clever play by Raul let in substitute Jose who hit a tremendous shot just over the cross bar. Almost immediately Raul had a shot blocked and the ball rebounded to Jose whose cross shot sailed harmlessly past the far post.
Cesar saw another dangerous cross just elude the onrushing Raul and Jose before Alcantarilla surged forward in the closing stages in attempt to score the winner. After 80 minutes a left wing corner was scrambled off the line by Mazarron and Juan Pedro made two saves from long range efforts before Alcantarilla spurned the best chance of the game just before the end. A cross from the left was missed by Juan Pedro but Miguel blazed over the bar from just three yards.
A draw was a fair result on the balance of play in a game which neither side deserved to lose.
Team: Juan Pedro; Pedro (Mariano); Juan Andreo; Marcos; Chino (David); Raso; Raul Torrano; Ruben; Steven (Jose); Raul; Jimmy (Cesar)

MAZARRON FC 0 CD BALA AZUL 1
An 81st goal from former Mazarron player Jose Da gave Bala Azul a narrow victory in the local derby in front of the largest crowd in recent years at the Estadio Municipal.
Bala had the better of the early exchanges and it was 15 minutes before Mazarron threatened the visitors goal when Raul Torrano's free kick was snatched off the onrushing Raul's head by Bala keeper Gregorio. Six minutes later Raul Torrano's long throw found Jimmy who hit a fierce shot just over the bar.
As Mazarron came more into the game Chino's cross from the left was headed down by Raul into the path of Jimmy but his left foot shot was well over the bar. Andreo then made an excellent break down the right but his cross, intended for Raul, was cut out by Gregorio.
At the other end Juan Pedro was troubled by a dipping shot which he managed to claw away and then Diego had a shot which was deflected wide for a Bala corner. The visitors had a penalty appeal turned down and then, on 41 minutes, Boudia conceded a free kick just outside the penalty from which Juan Pedro made an excellent diving save.
The half time interval was marred by the actions of the Bala supporters who were throwing fireworks on to the pitch despite the fact that both teams' substitutes were warming up and that there were many children playing their own games on the playing area during the break.
Bala started the second half like a house on fire. Diego's free kick was superbly saved by Juan Pedro who then had to make another stunning save to keep out another long range shot. After 58 minutes Salvador's shot from 25 yards beat the diving Juan Pedro but, fortunately for Mazarron, went just outside the far post.
Mazarron were relying on breakaways at this stage and Chino's long throw caused panic in the visitors defence before the ball was headed over the bar for a corner. The on 61 minutes Koko controlled a left wing cross before turning inside and shooting straight at the Bala keeper.
After 71 minutes it was Juan Pedro in action again with another excellent save to keep out former Mazarron player, Diego. The deadlock was finally broken after 81 minutes when Jose Da was allowed to run at the Mazarron defence and hit an excellent shot from just outside the penalty area which gave Juan Pedro no chance.
Mazarron were denied what seemed to be an obvious penalty for handball in the closing minutes but the referee indicated only a corner kick to the dismay of Mazarron players and supporters. Bala Azul just about deserved their victory on the balance of play and went to the top of the league with Mazarron still occupying a mid table position.
Team: Juan Pedro; Raul Torrano; Boudia, Juan Andre; Chino; Raso; Andreo; Koko; Ruben (Steven); Raul (Cesar); Jimmy.
Man of the Match; Juan Pedro

AD ALQUERIAS 0 MAZARRON FC 1
Mazarron gave one of their best performances of the season so far to earn a 1-0 away win at AD Alquerias.
Alquerias started brightly and Juan Pedro in the Mazarron goal made a couple of early saves with Raul Torrano also helping out with a goal line clearance from a corner. Most of Alquerias's threat came from their star player David who caused Mazarron many problems in the corresponding game last season.
However, Mazarron soon got to grips with the artificial surface and Jimmy shot over the bar from a Boudia free kick. The only goal of the game came after 24 minutes. Raul was fouled midway inside the Alquerias half and Raul Torrano's pinpoint free kick was headed firmly into the net by Raul. Juan Pedro was again forced into action as Alquerias sought an equaliser but it was Mazarron who created the better chances with Jimmy again firing over the bar and Ruben's cross to the far post being just too long for Raul to reach.
Steven replaced Raul at half time and Mazarron used his pace down the right to good effect with Jimmy taking up a central striking role. Juan Pedro again made a crucial save at the near post early in the second half and then had to come off his line smartly to smother another Alquerias attack.
Andreo and Ruben both had shots off target for Mazarron and Steven made an excellent break down the right but chose to cross the ball when he was better placed to have a shot at goal. Mazarron almost increased their lead on 65 minutes when Juan Pedro's clearance was cleverly controlled by Jimmy. He played the ball into the path of Ruben whose fierce drive was just touched around the post by the Alquerias keeper.
A minute later Juan Andreo's pass found Andreo whose shot crashed against the bar as Mazarron started to take control of the game. Then Jimmy and Ruben exchanged passes with Jimmy's shot again being well saved.
Alquerias surged forward in the last 15 minutes but Mazarron's defence again superbly marshalled by captain Juan Andreo and Boudia held firm to earn three precious points and take the team up to ninth position in the league. It was a great team effort with everyone playing their part. Jimmy worked tirelessly up front and Andreo, Ruben and Raso in midfield gave Alquerias little time on the ball. The fitness and energy showed by the whole team was outstanding as they battled throughout the 90 minutes and 5 minutes of added time to earn their just rewards.
It was an entertaining game between two well matched teams and mention must also be made of the match officials who all had good games.
Mazarron's next game is the local derby at home to second placed Bala Azul from Puerto de Mazarron on Sunday (6th November) kick off 5 pm when a bumper crowd is expected at the Estadio Municipal.
Team: Juan Pedro; Raul Torrano; Boudia; Juan Andreo; Pedro; Raso; Andreo; Ruben (Mariano); Cesar (Koko); Raul (Steven); Jimmy
Man of the Match: Juan Pedro

SFC MINERVA 3 MAZARRON FC 0
Mazarron's mini revival came to an abrupt end when they were outplayed and outclassed by high flying SFC Minerva.
The home team were quick out of the blocks and Pablo in the Mazarron goal had to be at his best but could do nothing about Minerva taking the lead after just seven minutes through Jose Alberto. Mazarron just could not get into the game and, apart from the odd corner and a shot which was easily saved they did not really trouble the Minerva defence in a disappointing first half performance.
Too many passes went astray and the tempers of the visiting team were not helped by the referee who seemed to penalise Mazarron at every opportunity. It all became too much for coach Cobo and he was sent from the dug out after 30 minutes.
Minerva continued to press forward as the game continued at a fast pace but with little skill being shown by either team. Both teams had a couple of long range efforts but the first half ended with no addition to the score.
If Mazarron supporters were hoping for a change in fortunes after the interval they were to be disappointed as Minerva continued to outrun and outplay the visitors. Pablo had to come out of his goal to block an early attack but Minerva went further ahead after 58 minutes when Joel beat Pablo with a well placed shot to make it 2-0.
Mazarron did manage a couple of shots at goal but nothing really to test the Minerva keeper and the home team made the game safe after 67 minutes when a corner to the far post was headed home by Francisco Ramon.
Things got worse for Mazarron five minutes later when Raso was harshly sent off for handling the ball in the penalty area. Pablo made a good save from Alfonso's penalty kick which no doubt went a long way to securing his Man of the Match award from the travelling supporters.
Team: Pablo; Raul Torrano; Chino (David); Raso; Juan Andreo; Boudia; Andreo (Pedro); Cesar (Steven); Koko; Raul (Jose); Ruben

MAZARRON FC 2 RACING MURCIA CITY 1
Mazarron made it three games without defeat with a hard fought 2-1 home win against Racing Murcia City. It was a game which saw Mazarron having to dig deep into their resources but, once again, a fighting performance saw them come out on top.
Racing Murcia had the better of the first half in which Mazarron keeper Juan Pedro had to be on top form with three outstanding saves. Without central defensive stalwart Raso, Mazarron looked to captain Juan Andreo to marshall his troops and, as usual he led by example.
Koko had a shot saved for Mazarron but it was Racing Murcia who made all the running and their pressure paid off after 33 minutes when Juan Pedro was finally beaten by a shot into the far corner of the net. Mazarron's only other effort of note in the first half was a 43rd minute free kick from just outside the penalty area which sailed well over the bar.
It was a different story after the interval as Mazarron began to play with some purpose and it took only four minutes for the home team to get on level terms. Stand in centre back Boudia met a well taken corner and headed the ball home. Former Mazarron favourite Willy was causing problems for the home team but Mazarron continued to dominate the game and scored a second after 66 minutes with a superb strike from 25 yards by substitute Steven.
An overhead shot by Raul was saved by the Racing Murcia keeper but, at the other end Juan Pedro had to make another superb save to deny the visitors. Willy then had a free kick cleared by the hard working Mazarron defence before the referee brought relief to the home supporters with the final whistle after four minutes of injury time.
Mazarron's win took them up to 11th in the league but they face a difficult trip to SFC Minerva, who lost for the first time this weekend, for their next game.
Team: Juan Pedro: Pedro (David): Boudia: Juan Andreo: Chino: Raul Torrano: Andreo: Cesar (Steven): Koko: Raul: Ruben (Jose).
Man of the Match: Juan Pedro.

MAZARRON FC 3 CD EL ESPARRAGAL 0
Mazarron gained their first victory of the season with an emphatic 3-0 home win over CD El Esparragal at the Estadio Municipal.
The home team took the lead in the first minute after good work by Javi Torrano on the left. His cross to the far post was met first time by Cesar who turned the ball home. Esparragal's first effort came in the 14th minute when a cross shot from the right grazed the crossbar. Two minutes later Chino's free kick was scrambled clear by the Esparragal keeper and play transferred quickly to the other end where a mistake by Raul Torrano almost let the visitors in.
Pablo had to be alert to keep out another Esparragal effort in the 18th minute as the visitors came more into the game and Juan Andreo had to dive in to deflect another effort for a corner. However it was Mazarron who increased their lead on 36 minutes. Cesar was fouled on the edge of the penalty area and Chino curled a delightful free kick into the far corner of the net.
Mazarron started the second half brightly without really troubling the Esparragal keeper but the game came to life after 57 minutes when the visitors had Ruben sent off presumably for something he said to the linesman. Mazarron continued attacking forcing a number of corners which were easily cleared and Chino and Javi were forming an impressive partnership down the left hand side.
On 75 minutes a through ball found Raul racing clear and he hit a left foot shot into the net only to see the linesman's flag raised for offside. Substitute Steven then made a good run down the right but Raul could only turn his cross in the arms of a grateful Esparragal keeper. Francisco then became the second visiting player to be dismissed before Mazarron scored a third after another surging run from Chino who found Steven on the right. The youngster's cross into the middle was met by another substitute Ruben who turned the ball home to the delight of the large and enthusiastic home crowd.
The one blemish for Mazarron came in the 89th minute when reserve goalkeeper Juan Pedro was sent off from the substitutes bench.
The win lifted Mazarron out of the relegation places and up to 13th in the league table.
Team: Pablo: Raul Torrano: Raso: Juan Andreo: Chino: Andreo: Boudia (Steven); Koko: Cesar (Ruben): Raul: Javi Torrano (Pedro).
Man of the Match: Chino

MAZARRON FC 6 EDECO FORTUNA 0
After last week’s disappointing defeat at Fuente Alamo, Mazarron returned to winning ways with an emphatic 6-0 home victory over struggling Edeco Fortuna and, in truth, should have won even more easily.
From the first whistle, leading scorer Tolo caused panic in the Fortuna defence and it took him only eight minutes to give Mazarron the lead. Toni’s shot was blocked and Tolo was on hand to hammer in the rebound. Two minutes later Tolo broke clear and his audacious chip over the keeper sailed just wide.
Mazarron were awarded a free kick after 16 minutes and when Manu stepped over the ball, Toni drove the ball home from 25 yards to make it 2-0. Mazarron continued to dominate the rest of the first half with Tolo being foiled on two further occasions, a header from Dani sailing over the bar and, one of the highlights of the season, a Rabona shot by Tolo which was brilliantly saved by the Fortuna keeper just two minutes before half time.
The second half followed in much the same way with total dominance by Mazarron. Young Andreo was orchestrating things in midfield and Tolo ran the Fortuna defence ragged. After 52 minutes a clever back heel by Tolo found Toni whose powerful shot was turned for a corner. Toni took the flag kick and although the cross evaded the onrushing Enrique, Tolo was on hand at the edge of the six yard box to smash the ball home for Mazarron’s third goal.
It was 4-0 after 64 minutes when Tolo’s cross was headed into the net by Dani and three minutes later it was Tolo again with clever control before teeing up substitute Stevens who volleyed home from the edge of the penalty area for Mazarron’s fifth.
Tolo had another shot tipped onto the post by the Fortuna keeper and then a superb through ball from Andreo found Tolo once again racing clear only to see his fierce drive deflected for a corner. The league’s leading goalscorer was not to be denied his third hat trick of the season which he completed in style shortly before the final whistle.
It was not until injury time that Fortuna had their only two shots on target, both saved by Mazarron’s juvenile goalkeeper Pablo who had come on as a substitute for the untroubled Conejo.
Team: Conejo (Pablo); Mateo; Enrique; Dani: Lorca; Manu (Stevens); Andreo; Liders (Juanillo); Stalyn; Toni; Tolo
Man of the Match: Andreo

CD ALBERCA 1 MAZARRON FC 1
Mazarron gave a much improved and battling performance against fourth placed CD Alberca and earned a deserved 1-1 draw.
Alberca almost took the lead in the sixth minute when their striker dribbled round Conejo in the Mazarron goal only to lose his footing as he was about to shoot. Mazarron’s first attempt on goal did not come until the 21st minute when Manu’s free kick was deflected for a corner. Monty’s flag kick was scrambled clear by Alberca with Mazarron appealing for a penalty for handball.
Monty and Tolo then combined well but Tolo’s shot was saved by the keeper. After 30 minutes Tolo’s through ball put Manu in the clear but his shot was turned round the post for a corner. At the other end a tremendous goalmouth scramble saw Mazarron defenders blocking three shots in succession before the ball was finally cleared.
Alberca came more into the game and Conejo had to be alert in the Mazarron goal with two excellent saves. Enrique was injured and replaced by Cristian in a bizarre incident. Cristian came onto the field only to be asked by the referee to remove a shirt which he had on under his blue Mazarron shirt. The linesman clearly signalled that it was OK for him to come back on to the field of play only for the referee to show Cristian a yellow card much to the anger of the Mazarron supporters who were directly behind the incident.
Conejo was again in action in the early stages of the second half making two more good saves before three Mazarron players were booked in succession for complaining about a decision by the referee. After 61 minutes an attempted clearance by Lorca struck Mateo, his own player, on the back and rebounded just wide of the post for a corner to Alberca.
Tolo was again Mazarron’s main threat up front and he had two good efforts saved, the second in the 65th minute when, following a free kick by Dani, he swivelled to hit a right foot shot just wide. Conejo then had to dive smartly to his right to foil an Alberca attack before Tolo hit a fierce drive which was scrambled around the post for a corner by the Alberca keeper.
Alberca took the lead after 79 minutes when Perez slipped inside Lorca before sliding the ball past Conejo. The lead was short lived as the irrepressible Tolo burst through the Alberca defence before firing home the equaliser for his tenth goal of the season. Manu was sent off for a second yellow card but Mazarron managed to hold out for the rest of the game including 7 minutes of added time.
Team: Conejo, Alfonso, Enrique (Cristian), Dani, Lorca, Juanillo, Mateo, Monty, Manu, Diego (Israel), Tolo

MAZARRON FC 1 THADER ALCANTARILLA 3
Mazarron lost further ground in the race for promotion with a dismal home performance against a team which had lost 3-1 at home the previous to the team at the bottom of the league.
On a playing surface which is an embarrassment to Mazarron, Thader were always in control of a game in which the home team were tactically inept relying once again on the long ball in the hope that leading scorer Tolo would beat the opposition on his own.
Thader started strongly but it was Mazarron who took the lead after nine minutes. Manu’s left wing cross was met spectacularly on the volley by Tolo whose shot screamed into the back of the net for his ninth goal of the season.
Liders and Enrique both had shots off target for Mazarron before Conejo had to dive to his right to save well following a Thader attack in the 25th minute. Four minutes later Thader almost equalised after a goalmouth scramble but the resultant shot went just wide. Then Liders went close for Mazarron when he latched onto a pass from Tolo but his shot was diverted for a corner.
Thader were coming more into the game and equalised after 35 minutes when a right wing cross was hammered home at the near post giving Conejo no chance.
Thader started the second half well and took the lead after 62 minutes with a soft goal. A right wing corner was headed goalwards but Alfonso and Conejo got in each other’s way and the ball trickled over the line.
Two minutes later, Tolo burst through the Thader defence but his fierce shot rebounded off the post. Thader went further ahead in the 68th minute when a cross field ball was driven goalwards but deflected into his own net by Lorca.
Cristian was finally introduced after 70 minutes and combined well with Tolo whose shot was well over the bar. At the other end Conejo had to be alert to smother an attack from Thader before the ball rebounded goalwards off Lorca and Conejo had to come to the rescue again.
Mazarron were unable to put together any meaningful attacks until a free kick from Alfonso was volleyed just wide by Cristian in injury time. After a promising start to the season the long suffering Mazarron fans are again having their hopes dashed and action is urgently needed to improve both results and the style of play.
Team: Conejo, Alfonso, Andreo, Dani, Lorca, Manu, Liders (Juanillo), Enrique, Monty (Cristian), Diego (Israel), Tolo.

ESPINARDO ATLETICO 2 MAZARRON FC 0
Mazarron dropped out of the play-off positions with a 2-0 defeat away to Espinardo Atletico despite having 75% of possession in a game played on an artificial surface which barely confirmed to the minimum width regulations.
Without Antonio Jose and Mateo at the back, Mazarron had to play juvenile midfielder Andreo as a central defender alongside Dani with four other juveniles also on the substitutes bench.
Mazarron were cheered on by a good number of supporters in appalling weather conditions, the constant driving rain making life difficult for players and spectators alike. Liders shot wide after just two minutes and Mazarron then forced two corners both of which came to nothing. At the other end an Espinardo free kick was easily saved by Conejo and a mistake by Lorca let in one of the home strikers who shot against the cross bar.
Espinardo took the lead after 20 minutes when Dani misjudged the pace of a through ball allowing Alejandro to run on, round Conejo and place the ball into an empty net. Thereafter, it was all Mazarron with Tolo almost scoring on two occasions, once when he superbly rounded the last defender before seeing his shot smothered by the Espinardo keeper.
Monty’s free kick after 28 minutes was just too high and then, a minute later a superb free kick from Alfonso crashed against the bar before rebounding to Monty who volleyed over. Espinardo went close when a free kick was headed just wide before Tolo unleashed a left foot shot from outside the penalty area which was touched around the post for a corner by the home keeper.
Mazarron continued to dominate in the early stages of the second half forcing numerous corners, all of which were headed clear by the strong Espinardo defence. Tolo was always in the thick of the action and once again came close when he volleyed Monty’s free kick only to see it rebound off a defender when goalbound.
Little was seen of Espinardo as an attacking force but their defence kept a tight rein on the Mazarron forwards with three men in attendance every time Tolo had the ball. The home team committed numerous fouls outside the penalty area but Mazarron were unable to convert any of the resulting free-licks although Lider’s left foot effort was headed off the line for a corner.
With five minutes to go the referee awarded a free kick to Espinardo on the right and Gonzalez rose unchallenged to place a firm header past Conejo to make the final score 2-0.
Team: Conejo, Alfonso (Jhony), Andreo, Dani, Lorca, Juanillo (Stevens), Monty, Liders, Manu (Cristian), Diego, Tolo.

MAZARRON FC 4 BLANCA TELECANAL 1
Mazarron continued their push for promotion with an emphatic 4-1 home victory over Blanca Telecanal.
Despite being without three players through suspension and another three through injury, Mazarron generally dominated the game although a few defensive lapses allowed Blanca Telecana some good opportunities which they failed to take mainly through excellent work by Mazarron’s goalkeeper, Conejo.
Mazarron took the lead after 12 minutes when Tolo found space on the right. After beating two men his shot rebounded off the post to Diego who tapped the ball home from two yards.
Mazarron continued to press forward but Conejo had to be alert and raced off his line twice in quick succession to thwart breakaways from Blanca Telecanal.
At the other end Tolo was causing all sorts of problems for the visitors’ defence. He broke clear only to see his shot saved and then, after another mazy run, appeared to be brought down in the penalty area but the referee waved play on.
For the second half Cristian replaced Juanillo for Mazarron and was immediately in the action when he hit a fierce shot goalwards from 25 yards which appeared to hit a defender on the arm before being diverted for a corner. From the flag kick Dani forced the ball over the line to make it 2-0.
It was all Mazarron at this stage and a free kick from Alfonso was headed on by Tolo towards Diego but his shot at the far post only found the side netting. Tolo again burst clear but saw his shot saved by the feet of the Blanca Telecanal’s keeper. The visitors should have reduced the arrears in the 61st minute when a long ball saw their striker racing through but he shot wide off the post with only Conejo to beat.
Two minutes later they were awarded a penalty when Mateo and Conejo collided with one of the Blanca forwards but Conejo dived to his right to make an excellent save from the spot kick. Mazarron made them pay for this miss with the best goal of the game after 67 minutes. Andreo’s diagonal ball found Cristian racing towards the corner on the right. Cristian turned and hit a superb looping shot over the keeper’s head and into the top of the net to make it 3-0.
Tolo was unlucky again when he swivelled to hit a fierce left foot shot which was tipped around the post by the Blanca keeper but the visitors reduced the arrears after 77 minutes when Carlos Fernandez was allowed to run through and place his shot past Conejo into the corner of the net.
Mazarron replied almost immediately when substitute Stalin’s excellent cross saw Tolo hit a first time shot into the roof of the net to make the final score 4-1.
