NEXT HOME GAME
Mazarrón FC v Racing Murcia City
Scheduled for Sunday 9th October
Another new game and another new team to watch, I might be wrong but I cannot recall playing this side before.
The team are called Racing Murcia City and they visit Mazarrón next weekend and although they are higher in the league than us at this moment in time I feel quite optimistic about our chances.
RMC were promoted from the Primera Autonomica at the end of last season although they only finished in 7th place and were indebted to other teams demise in order to gain promotion.
Yes Racing Murcia City have been picking up points but, unlike Mazarrón, their opponents so far, except for Cartagena, have been from the lower reachers of the division and as soon as they came across stiffer opposition they were hammered. So I feel that there is every likelihood of our boys coming away with a good result. But before anything else let's look at what happened last weekend.
Mazarrón were on their travels to face FC Cartagena and gave a good account of themselves, indeed following their first half performance they deserved more than to go in at half time just 0-1 up. But you have to give it to Cartagena they rallied in the second half and pulled level from a corner.
I wonder when coaches at our level realise that you have to have a man on the far post as well as the near post, it would cut out so many goals conceded from corners? But a point from Cartagena's main teams 'B' side is nothing to be scoffed at.
Meanwhile Racing Murcia City took on Montecasillas at home where until the 88th minute it was 0-0 and then up steps Javier MUÑOZ ABELLAN who scored in the 88th & 89th minute.
Final score 2-0 to RMC and those two goals moved Mazarrón above Montecasillas.
CURRENT STATS
7th RMC P 6 W 3 D 1 L 2 GF 9 GA 10 Points 10
13th MAZARRÓN FC P 6 W 1 D 2 L 3 GF 5 GA 7 Points 5
Details of team news, sanctions and suspensions will be posted here when they become available.
