NEXT HOME GAME
MAZARRÓN F.C. v C.D. EL ESPARRAGAL
6pm (18.00) Sunday 25th September
Mazarrón FC return home following a narrow 1-0 away defeat against Balsicas to face a familiar foe in the shape of CD El Esparragal.
I'm not saying that at this early stage of the season that this is a must win game but Mazarrón need to find a winning formula soon or they could be facing a season looking behind them instead of at the top of the table.
Last weekend CD El Esparragal were at home facing Moneicasillas and despite their opponents going down to ten men could only manage a 0-0 draw.
CD El Esparragal stats so far are
9th P 4 W 1 D 2 L 1 GF 4 GA 3 Points 5
Mazarrón sit in the relegation zone with figures of
16th P 4 W 0 D 1 L 3 GF 1 GA 6 Points 2
More details will be posted as they become available

The only suspension that I can see for this weekends game goes to Francisco SERRANO NAVARRO, the coach of CD Esparragal, who received a straight red last weekend for questioning an officials decision.

Played them off the park, in the second half Esparragal returned to their normal tactics in order to stop our flying wingers and penetrating runs i.e. hack down your opposition and this resulted in our visitors being reduced to 9 men.
One example was that following the introduction of Steven Esparragal were being terrorised down the right wing, he skipped two lunging tackles and as he bore down on the goal he was taken out by a tackle Norman Hunter or Billy Bremner would have been proud of, a dirty two footed sliding assault on our winger.
But justice was done as early as the 3rd minute with a cracking goal by Cesar. After Mazarron tormented Esparragal further our lads increased their lead direct from a free kick following a dirty tackle right on the edge of the box. What a superlative free kick it was taken by Chino, their keeper was stuck to the spot as it sailed into the top left hand corner giving him no chance at all.
Esparragal did have their moments but young Pablo in goal was more than up to the task.
The second half followed the same theme with a majestic Andreo controlling the midfield, Sam marshalling the defence and following introduction of Steven all Esparragal could offer were dirty tactics.
For Mazarróns third goal Steven flew down the right wing avoiding flaying boots from a desperate defence he then slipped ball to Ruben who was unmarked in the centre of the box and he finished with aplomb.
The only blemish for Mazarrón is when they had a player sent off but it was the reserve keeper, Juan Pedro,, who joined a mealie from the bench following Steven being hacked down yet again and he rushed onto the pitch to defend our young winger, he shouldn't have done it so it was a straight red.
Chino was the man of the match but in all honesty it could have gone to every man jack as this was a complete performance by a dominate outfit.

MAZARRON FC 3 CD EL ESPARRAGAL 0
Mazarron gained their first victory of the season with an emphatic 3-0 home win over CD El Esparragal at the Estadio Municipal.
The home team took the lead in the first minute after good work by Javi Torrano on the left. His cross to the far post was met first time by Cesar who turned the ball home. Esparragal's first effort came in the 14th minute when a cross shot from the right grazed the crossbar. Two minutes later Chino's free kick was scrambled clear by the Esparragal keeper and play transferred quickly to the other end where a mistake by Raul Torrano almost let the visitors in.
Pablo had to be alert to keep out another Esparragal effort in the 18th minute as the visitors came more into the game and Juan Andreo had to dive in to deflect another effort for a corner. However it was Mazarron who increased their lead on 36 minutes. Cesar was fouled on the edge of the penalty area and Chino curled a delightful free kick into the far corner of the net.
Mazarron started the second half brightly without really troubling the Esparragal keeper but the game came to life after 57 minutes when the visitors had Ruben sent off presumably for something he said to the linesman. Mazarron continued attacking forcing a number of corners which were easily cleared and Chino and Javi were forming an impressive partnership down the left hand side.
On 75 minutes a through ball found Raul racing clear and he hit a left foot shot into the net only to see the linesman's flag raised for offside. Substitute Steven then made a good run down the right but Raul could only turn his cross in the arms of a grateful Esparragal keeper. Francisco then became the second visiting player to be dismissed before Mazarron scored a third after another surging run from Chino who found Steven on the right. The youngster's cross into the middle was met by another substitute Ruben who turned the ball home to the delight of the large and enthusiastic home crowd.
The one blemish for Mazarron came in the 89th minute when reserve goalkeeper Juan Pedro was sent off from the substitutes bench.
The win lifted Mazarron out of the relegation places and up to 13th in the league table.
Team: Pablo: Raul Torrano: Raso: Juan Andreo: Chino: Andreo: Boudia (Steven); Koko: Cesar (Ruben): Raul: Javi Torrano (Pedro).
Man of the Match: Chino

Report from the Esparragal website:
MAZARRÓN FC 3 - 0 CD ESPARRAGAL · A JUST DEFEAT BEFORE A MAZARRÓN THAT WAS MORE INTENSE AND MORE CONCENTRATED FOR 90 MINUTES OF THE GAME
The game began with a more enthusiastic Mazarron, in the first move hung a ball on the back of Alvaro (debutante in the day yesterday) and between Alvaro and Juanpa who did not stay to his side, the Mazarron player central and alone at the far post put the locals in front to 1-0.
The truth is that we had few minutes in which we became owners of the game, defenceless again and again against the local defence, but sometimes the goalkeeper, other the crossbar and others our bad aim made us not to equalise.
On the edge of the half-time, a foul very protested by our players ended up in the back of the net.
The second half had little history, immediately by two childish incidents both Ruben and Pacotelli were auto expelled by enter into provocations with the terraces, two nonsense that cost us not to have options of comeback and play great part of the second half with 9, even so the 9 players kept the type and the third goal arrived in the added time having even one occasion at the foot of Edu and Cristian for having cleared.
The team is not at all concentrated enough that requires in the category, and mostly, when away from home, is granting an advantage that then it makes insurmountable.
Yesterday the team presented the candidature of a team that will suffer not to lose the category, as soon as possible we have to clear our situation better for everyone.
Juanito also debutant at yesterday had a quite prominent, especially in the first half performance.
Alignment: Mono (0), Alvaro (1), Soto (2), Cárceles (3), Perillo (3), Juanito (4), Mazucelli (3), Rubio (3) Ruben (0), Juanpa (0), Adrian (2). Replacements: enters Cristian (1) and goes Rubio (45'). Pacotelli (0) enters and exits Alvaro (45'). Enter Jose Antonio (2) and goes Mazuchelli (55'). Enter Pedrete (3) and leaves Juanito (60'). Enter Edu (3) and leaves Juanpa (75'). Goals: 1-0 min (1'). 2-0 min (45'). 3-0 min (89')
