OK....let's be really POSITIVE!
Who will we be playing next season when we are back in the Preferente?
Every year there is a struggle for some teams to get sufficient financial support to take up their places in the leagues. This gives opportunities for teams in lower divisions to take up the spare places. This means Mazarron have a great chance of promotion, even if they don't win through the full play-off process. It is highly likely that the TWO first round winners will get promoted (although not certain, of course!) and as Mazarron have a good chance of overcoming CD Juvenia in the first round, I thought we'd have a look at who we might be playing next season................
2014/15 Mid-table Preferente teams not involved in promotion/relegation are:
4 - CHURRA E.D.M.F
5 - CLUB OLIMPICO DE TOTANA
6 - SANGONERA LA VERDE C.F.
7 - MONTECASILLAS
8 - SPORTING CLUB AGUILEÑO
9 - C.D. ALGAR
10 - U.D. LOS GARRES
11 - A.D. ALQUERIAS
12 - C.D. BALA AZUL
13 - C.D. BULLENSE
14 - JUMILLA C.D.
15 - CIUDAD DE CALASPARRA C.F.
Teams dropping out of the Tercera:
16 - CARTAGENA F.C.
17 - C.F. MOLINA
18 - C.D. CIEZA
Teams promoted from the Primera:
1 - SFC MINERVA
2 - LA HOYA LORCA C.F.
So, a couple of 'local' derbies with Totana and Bala Azul, not to mention La Hoya (again) and the Aguilas trip to see the site of Javi Soto's great 'drop shot' though the kitchen window ... "Back Of The Kitchen!")!
Then there are the great 'coach tour' trips to Jumilla (for the wine), Bullense (for the wine) and Calasparra (for the rice).
So, the prospect of a great season. We just need to push the team over the finishing line......VAMOS MAZARRÓN!!!

As we now know, the promotion of FC Jumilla from Tercera to Segunda B allows one more team from each lower division to go up a level. And, as we also know, that can cause problems for the playoffs.
And so it came to pass in the Preferente, where the extra team to go up was third placed C. Atletico Pulpileño. Who just happened to win the playoffs too!
We wait to see what the Fed. do now. I assume they will promote the team that lost in the playoffs final - C. Olimpico de Totana. But you never know!
If that's the case, the 18 teams in next season's Preferente will be:
CHURRA E.D.M.F SANGONERA LA VERDE C.F. MONTECASILLAS SPORTING CLUB AGUILEÑO C.D. ALGAR U.D. LOS GARRES A.D. ALQUERIAS C.D. BALA AZUL C.D. BULLENSE JUMILLA C.D. CIUDAD DE CALASPARRA C.F. CARTAGENA F.C. C.F. MOLINA C.D. CIEZA SFC MINERVA LA HOYA LORCA C.F. BENIAJAN C.F. MAZARRÓN F.C.
A further string of our knowledge though, suggests there is water to go under the bridge concerning financial solvency issues for clubs. And the probability is that one or more teams may decide to fold or not accept promotions.
We'll keep you informed here when we know more.

Today's news is that we may have another local Derby in the offing.
Totana may not get the promotion up to Tercera. The Spanish blog has it going to Churra!
i.e. Pulpileño get the promotion due to winning the playoffs and the next highest placed team in the regular season (Churra) get to benefit from Jumilla getting into Segunda B.
Keep watching.....confirmation will come eventually.

And there may be a new club based at La Manga Club sitting on the sidelines waiting to buy a place of the first club to drop out.
Always good fun at this time of year sorting the facts from the theories!

So you haven't been watching the last Spanish game for promotion to the Primera?
Las Palmas versus Zaragoza.
Zaragoza leading 3-1 from the first leg. But that away goal was to be their undoing as Las Palmas won 2-0 at home and get the leg-up from the Segunda. Their second goal came in the 84th minute!

Jose will be devastated, Zaragoza is his home town side and he was celebrating after the first leg.

NEWS FROM THE GROUND
Just in from Jose, the details are a bit sketchy at the moment as he has been away but here's what we have so far.
The team and background staff for Mazarrón FC 15-16 season is well on schedule. Yesterday the new trainer was hired for the next season. In charge of the first team we have recruited a guy called VICTOR and he has joined us from Alhama of the Tercera division.
He will be bringing with him with some players who were playing in that category. Already sure is SILVERIO an excellent forward that we tried to sign the past campaign.
The trainings will begin on August 3. And in four or five days there will be news of new players. Jose is hopeful of a good season on our return to the Preferente.
The vast majority of last seasons players have expressed a desire to continue next season and they will be assessed by the new manager.
With regards to Javi, last years senior manager, he has been appointed as sporting director for all junior teams up to and inclusive of the juveniles. His role will be to oversee junior football development at Mazarron FC. He is also undertaking his level 2 coaching badge course to enable him to coach at a higher level.
More news as I get it.

NEW FORWARDS
Today Mazarron FC confirm the signing of Silverio and also added Jose Bazan.
Both of these players are excellent forwards, Jose Bazan played in Alhamas 3 division team last season whilst Siverio played for the now relegated team from Balsicas.

A team which only retained it's Tercera status on goal difference (or was it head-to-head?) over Cartagena FC by winning 2-0 at their place on the last day of the season! Finishing the game with only 9 men! Just look at the cards.................. Tarjetas: Cartagena F.C.ENRIQUE GARCIA PEREZ tarjeta GINES GUZMAN MARIN tarjeta MARIANO PEREZ GALINDO tarjeta SEVERIANO UTRERA RODRIGUEZ tarjeta E.F.Alhama tarjeta ALVARO CAMPOS SIMON tarjeta ANGEL LOPEZ FLORES tarjeta/tarjeta DANIEL JORGE MOMPREVIL CASTILLO tarjeta FRANCISCO JAVIER SANCHEZ VALERO tarjeta JOSE LUIS BAZAN FERREIRA tarjeta JUAN JOSE MARTINEZ LOPEZ tarjeta/tarjeta OSCAR MARTINEZ CAMPOY That would have been a good game to be at.

Well now....here's a thing!
Announced on the Fed Twitter feed this week.....
The Commission of the Tercera Division, consisting of the registered teams in Group XIII, have decided to propose to the Board of FFRM this competition counts for the 2016-2017 season with twenty teams. All representatives of the Group XIII raised this measure which must be ratified next July 22 by the Board and, in turn, this same day by the General Assembly FFRM, so it can be carried out.
No word on how they will appoint the two extra teams. Will they only relegate ONE, or will they promote FIVE from the Preferente?
Keep watching. You'll hear it first here!

NEWS FROM THE GROUND
A vocals meeting took place at Mazarron FC offices today and here are the main points covered at the meeting, and not necessarily in a logical order.
MEETING AT THE TOWN HALL
Tomorrow, 22nd July, Jose is meeting with the new mayor and new sports councillor regarding all matters Mazarron FC including the pitch, financial support, the fabric of the ground and many other matters. Jose will inform me of the outcome of the meeting as soon as it's over.
SQUAD NEWS
The squad is coming together nicely and expect plenty of familiar faces next season with additions from the Alhama/Totana area from where our new manager has been coaching. Our old friend Munir has yet again shown interest in playing for us.
Jose will be sending me the CV of Victor, the new manger, and I'll post it on the forum as soon as I get it.
Javi, our old manager is taking the next stage in his coaching badge but will combine the two days a week course with overseeing junior football at the club. His assistant from last season, Fernando, will be in charge of the Infantil side next season.
TRAINING/PRE SEASON GAMES
Training commences on 3rd August at the sports complex on the way to the port.
Two pre season games have already been arranged, the first is away the second at home. Other dates will be added as they become known. Our new coach will not be playing pre season games against teams in our own league.
8.30pm (20.30) 9th August Aguilas v Mazarron FC Game to be played in the Aguilas main stadium. Aguilas are currently in the Tercera division finishing 4th and just missing out on promotion.
9pm (21.00) 13th August Mazarron FC v Churra Home game Churra are currently a Tercera division side having come 4th in the Preferente last season and gained promotion.
So two stiff pre season games to get the ball rolling and to find out the strengths and weaknesses of the team.
JUVENILES
As posted before, we will be just running the one juvenile squad next season, the squad will be bigger and draw upon the best from last seasons two teams.
FB/FC
For a number of reasons the senior side and juvenile team will remain as FC The junior sides will remain known as FB (futbol base)
SEASON TICKETS/ENTRANCE PRICES
To show his appreciation of the loyal support given by the Mazarron FC supporters both UK and Spanish Jose has decided to keep the prices the same as per last season.
Season tickets €40 Gate prices €4
Please help support the club by purchasing a season ticket and get a great bargain in the process.
SPONSOR
Details of the club sponsor will be released shortly
TEAM COLOURS
The team colours will remain the same for next season, RED at home BLUE away
PROMOTIONS
Due to the possible increase in the number of teams in the Tercera division and other adjustments Jose thinks that 6 teams could be promoted from the Preferente to the Tercera division and 6 teams could be promoted from our old division, Primera autonomica, to the Preferente, our new division. That means that all of the teams that we met in the playoffs, Beniajan, Juvenia and Esparragal, might be promoted!
TEAMS PLAYING ON OUR GROUND
It is Jose's intention that only Mazarron FC and Mazarron FC juveniles play at our ground next season. As you might have read Sporting Mazarron Camposol will not be appearing next season, how sad, never mind. Bala Azul were almost on the same boat and about to fold but a previous and very unsuccessful Mazarron FC manager and his side kick have taken them on, renamed them Bala Azul sporting and will be playing in the Preferente next season.
Bala Azul played on the plastic pitches of the sports complex last season after allowing their ground to deteriorate to such an extent that it couldn't be used. Jose understands that Agustine and his mollusc partner will try to play their home games at our ground!!! Jose will fight this tooth and nail to prevent this. It has taken a lot of hard work to get the pitch into a reasonable condition, today it looks quite lush, and these two Cowboys think that they can just walk in and use our facilities without contributing is a none starter, BUT it is a council facility and they have the last word.
Watch this space for further updates.

The General Assembly of the Federation confirmed the increase in Tercera teams from 18 to 20 for the 2016/17 season but did not say how it would happen. I assume it will be just ONE relegation at the end of 2015/16 so will not affect the three regular promotions from the Preferente.
