TUESDAYS MEETING AT THE FOOTBALL GROUND WITH TOWN HALL OFFICIALS
On Tuesday 23 ex pat Mazarron FC supporters met with Gines Campillio, Jose Rodriguez Mazarron FC club president and the sports councillor at the football ground to discuss developments at the home of Mazarron FC
The two main points discussed were the replacement playing surface and the council financial assistance to the club.
With regards to the replacement of the expensive to maintain and unpractical natural grass surface at the municipal stadium with a 3G artificial replacement the meeting was reassured that the finance and programme to do this work was in place and will be carried out at the end of this season. The work should be completed by September.
If the work has not been completed by the start of the season Jose will request that the Murcian federation swap any home fixtures effected to away game with the home fixtures taking place later in the season. It was explained to the town hall officials that home fixtures at the Complejo Deportivo de Mazarrón, on the way to the port, are not practical as the ability to charge entry fees and canteen facilities would be impossible, these two activities plus the raffle are some of the main fund raising streams on match-days. The meeting was told of plans to utilise the Complejo Deportivo de Mazarrón for other use besides football such as BMX/ATB courses and even off road motor cycles.
Other improvements and developments at our ground will take place subsequently such as flood lighting, changing rooms, seating replacement and general decoration of the ground, poco y poco.
The subsidy that the club receives from the council will be increased by a sum in the area of €2000 in recognition of the work the football club does within the community and especially with the youth of the town also the assistance that we give to the local population such as the donations to the CARATAS charity.
The home grounds of Mazarron FC and Bala Azul in the port will remain in their current locations, these location being ideal for the local population to walk to the sporting events taking place there.
Publicity of home fixture would be posted on the town halls website and Facebook site to inform and encourage locals to attend the matches.
After an hours long discussion the meeting ended with the assembled gathering being assured that the work on the pitch and around the ground will be undertaken and they were reassured that we would hold them to account if promises were not kept.

PLAYOFFS
Not jumping the gun or counting my chickens before they hatch but I have asked Jose to speak to the federation to confirm the dates and format of this seasons playoffs, I await his reply.
We have 5 games left, 3 at home and 2 away. Three of the games are against sides who are challenging for a play off slot, Espinardo & Alberca at home and Los Alcazares away.
Mazarron FC need maximum support in these final games to get us over the line.

One or two bit of news that you might be interested in:
PLAYOFFS
The first two dates for the first round of the playoffs for promotion to the Preferente division will take place on Sunday 7th June and the following Sunday, the 14th June on a home and away basis. I will confirm the next two dates on Saturday/Sunday when I see Jose.
Having said that Jose is of the opinion that the teams getting into the playoff places could well be promoted to the division above us, the Preferente, anyway as there appears to be a number of sides in that division and the division above, the Terecra, who could well fold. I will keep my eye on this one. But to make sure of promotion a top 6 finish is important along with a successful playoff campaign so please keep supporting the team.
WORK AT THE GROUND
During the close season Jose is proposing to move the temporary seating behind the goal at the canteen end of the pitch and move it to the other end of the ground, near to the road. The freed up space behind the goal at the canteen end will be resurfaced and used for goalkeeping training. This will reduce wear and tear on the pitch even if it is a 3G artificial surface.
In readiness, just in case, if the work to replace the playing surface on the main pitch over runs into next season Jose has been in negotiations with the federation to allow Mazarron FC to play any home games, during that period, at our opponents ground and reverse the fixtures later in the season.
From all of what I have said you can be assured that Jose will be remaining as the club president for the foreseeable future.

OTHER NEWS
For those of you who over the seasons have complained about the floodlights I can inform you that at great expense, to the council and not the football club, on Monday they are being refurbished and upgraded.
PLAYING STAFF
A number of players missing in recent weeks will be back in the squad shortly.
Tońo: has finished a work commitment and should be returning shortly.
Manu: Is still recovering from an ankle injury and is about two weeks away from being fit.
Steven: Has a foot injury and will be missing for two weeks.
Monti: will be returning in two weeks following work commitments.
Jose is also looking to strengthening the attack option in readiness for the playoffs. He is in negotiations with a proven striker and hopefully news should be available early next week if all goes well.

For those of you who are interested on how the Federation sort out league positioning, and this could be very important when it comes to the play offs, the rules regarding how they do it are posted below.
With thanks to Les for researching this complicated subject.
RULES
- 1. In the competitions of League the final classification will be settled in accordance with the points obtained by each one of clubs participant, at the rate of three for each game won, one for games tied and none for games lost.
- 2. If at the end of the championship there is a tie between two clubs, it will be resolved by the greater goal-difference, added in for and against according to the result of both games played between them; if thus it were not resolved, it will then be decided by the greater goal-difference, although considering all the obtained ones and receiving in the course of the competition; in case of an identical difference, it will be better classified the one than it had marked plus the most.
- 3. If the tie is between more than two clubs, it will be resolved:
a) By the best score of the one than to each one it corresponds in accordance with the results obtained among them, as if the others had not participated.
b) By the greater goal-difference, considering solely the games played to each other by clubs tied.
c) By the greater goal-difference, considering all the encounters of the championship; and, being that identical one, in favor of the club that had scored more.
d) In last instance, if the possible tie were not solved by the rules that precede, it is to be decided in favor of the club better classified in accordance with the scales of the "fair-play".
The norms that establish the previous sections will apply by their order and with excluding character, of such luck that if one of them solved the implied tie of some of clubs, this one will be excluded, being applied to the others those who correspond, according to its number is two or more. If when being applied the norm that corresponds is established without ties the classification between the affected ones, is left its order thus resolute to all the effects.
- 4. If the equality were not solved through the anticipated dispositions, a game of tiebreak in the date, hour and neutral field that the competent federal organ designates, being of application will be played, in so assumption, in which they come, the rules that the disposition anticipates in section Seven.

With 2 games left, it looks as if SFC Minerva may 'do an Arsenal' and complete the season undefeated.
Our opponents today (Alberca) are one of only 4 teams to have taken a point off them - GULP!

After this weekends games (3.5.2015) here are the statistics for the teams still able to contest for one of the three remaining playoff places and it couldn't be much closer.
There are now only 5 teams capable of making those three remaining places, one, of course, being Mazarron FC who can still be caught by our next opponents Los Alcazares who are in 7th place. But one more point means that Mazarron FC are in the end off season competition for promotion for sure. Espinardo in 8th place can't catch us.
CURRENT LEAGUE POSITION & WHO PLAYS WHO IN THE LAST THREE GAMES
Below are the teams that can still make the top 6, and therefore the playoffs with 2 games to go, shown in their current league position and showing their current points score.
The list does not include La Hoya Lorca CF and Beniajan who are currently 2nd & 3rd respectively but with the points that they already have they are sure of a playoff place at least. These two side are still fighting out for the one remaking automatic promotion place.
CURRENT LEAGUE STANDINGS

I will update and amend this list after next weekends games
REMAINING GAMES

EARLY UPDATE 9/10/15
Wth the Friday night result of ESPINARDO ATLETICO-SPORTING DE MURCIA 3 - 3 A.D. PLIEGO the play off position hasn't changed much but 8th placed Espinardos chance of making 6th place now hangs by a thread.
The very best that they can now achieve is that final playoff place but they rely on on other results going their way and by the end of tomorrow, if Juvenia get a point, even that chance will be gone.
There is just one game on Saturday but it does have a big influence on the automatic promotion and play off placed. The game is LA HOYA (2nd) v ESPARRAGAL and kicks off at 6pm. La Hoya can seal that automatic promotion place if they win and Esparragal could secure a playoff place if they take all three points. Should be a hard fought game.

THINGS ARE GOING OUR WAY
Today, Saturday 9/5/2015 there was a result which confirms a couple of outstanding questions of who finishes where in our league.
The result was LA HOYA LORCA C.F. 4 - 0 C.D. ESPARRAGAL
This means La Hoya are confirmed as the second placed side in our league and are promoted, congratulations.
Beniajan are confirmed as finishing in 3rd place and go into the playoffs, well done.
This result also dents Esparragals chances of finishing 4th, a place currently occupied by Mazarron FC.
Sundays games will, maybe, sort out the remaining 3 places available for the playoffs but it could still go down to the last game which will be played......heavens knows when if the football authorities carry their threat to strike following this weekends game.

Oh dear Oh dear
With Fuente Alamo beating Los Alcazares 6-1 in the final game this means Sporting Mazarron drop into the bottom 4 places.
I wonder how many teams are relegated this season? Could it be the bottom 4?

Well the regular season has come to a close and here are the final positions for the top 6 teams who are promoted or go into the playoffs for that last playoff place.
1st SFC MINERVA 94 points (promoted and undefeated for the whole season) 2nd LA HOYA LORCA CF 78 points (promoted) 3rd BENIAJAN CF 76 points (confirmed playoffs) 4th MAZARRON FC 62 points (confirmed playoffs with Tolo division top scorer by 10 clear goals) 5th CD JUVENIA 58 points (confirmed playoffs) 6th CD ESPARRAGAL 56 points (confirmed playoffs)
EVERTHING BELOW IS YET TO BE CONFIRMED
One of tonight's result was C.D. JUVENIA 6 - 1 ESPINARDO ATLETICO-SPORTING DE MURCIA
This means that Juvenia will definitely finish in 5th place.
As we finished in 4th place it should be Juvenia who we face in the first round of the playoffs with the first leg away and the second at home, which is to our advantage.
In the two games we played against Juvenia this season we beat them 1-2 at their place with ten men after Chema was sent off.
The return leg at our place was a 1-1 draw with Chema again in the thick of it giving away a penalty with Mazarron leading with 4 minutes to go.
All playoff details will be published as soon as I get them.
Details of the play off games will be circulated on the Mazarron FC web site, the Los Amigos Facebook page and via group emails as soon as we have them from the Federation.
Please give Mazarron FC you maximum support in those playoff game and if you can encourage a friend or neighbour to attend the match and thereby boosting attendance it would make all the difference to the atmosphere and to our players.
