Oh, by the way, they are still only listing 17 teams - so there is still water to go under the Segura Bridge. Apparently, there is only ONE team remaining registered for the Segunda (after all the promotions to Primera)! And with that being Santiago de la Ribera, who were relegated from the Primera, it looks like the Fed will be REALLY scrambling around this year. The Primera could end up with just 17. Hopefully, with that many Segunda teams, MFC could pick up some easy points! EDIT 31/7:...OR...the Primera may have a few more teams if they only get stragglers for the Segunda! In that case, they would merge both into a single Primera division!

...and the longest road trip could be back! Yeclano 'B' are in the frame for the Primera.

Those are the dates/times/locations/teams given to me by Jose on Wednesday. So we will just have to wait and see when the federation decides to publish the fixture list.

At a guess, Dave, money (or lack thereof) will be holding those decisions up. From what I'm seeing with the Spanish postings, there are fewer and fewer players able to subsidise their expenses. From 18 Primera and 20 Segunda division clubs last season, we could see only half that number turning out on day 1. Clubs at this level need all the support they can get to be able to field a team.

Put the following in to google maps to see the location for Saturdays game. I might have a ride out to have a look.
37 41'49'' N 1 01'35''W
It looks like an unkept grass surface but until I get to have a closer look who knows, plus when was the picture taken???
First training last night was mainly to give local players the chance to impress with all but one from Mazarron, the other was one of our old boy, Enrique, from Totana.
Players from further afield will be incorporated as training progresses.

Cecilio is currently living in France and won't be back until January, a pity and a big loss to the team.
It will be interesting to see who is on the team sheet on Saturday.

Next training will be at 8pm (20.00) Thursday 7th August on the plastic pitches, and as expected players from further afield will be on trial. OK, just in regarding re Thursdays training: There should be:- 5 players from the Cartagena area: 1 goalkeeper 1 central defender 2 wingers AND TOLO4 players from the Totana area: 1 goalkeeper 1 central defender 1 full back and ENRIQUE Jose is hopeful that they are good players and are interested in the offer of Mazarron fc In principle JOSE RUBEN has not accept the Mazarron FC's new conditions offered to him and is training with BALA BLUE Jose understand that Jose Ruben has been promised a fixed sum per game by their manager but he think that there are "porkie pies" being told to entice him, but as Jose puts it "it's adult to choose their future" We will see as it could be interesting times ahead taking into consideration so many teams 'going under' and finances for ALL teams getting tighter.

A really good training session tonight with 20 players on the pitch including 3 keepers and a number of returning lads including Tolo who slotted in a couple of cracking goals, one being a 30 yard lob, really impressive.
I have updated the pre season games and they are posted below, all details given to me by Jose on Thursday night.
The team is taking shape already.
