I have neglected to include in the squad, the assistant manager/trainer/physio that we now have at the club. He's the tall lad who is on the bench during the match, nice bloke.
His name is Fernando del Alhamo. He played for Mazarrón as an Infatil through to the senior squad. Last season he was with Trasante in the third division.
He speaks English having lived in London studying tourism.

A couple of possible good news stories for you all.
Firstly fans favorite and MAZARRON stalwart Cecillio wil be finishing his contract of work in France earlier than expected, at the end of November, and has been in contact with Jose about returning to play for us. For me he can't come soon enough. A great servant of the club.
Secondly Cristian has found it hard to settle in France and is returning to our region, negotiations are on going for him to rejoin Mazarron FC. That should please all the girls:-)

You might have noticed that Monti have been missing for the last two games, nothing to worry about, he is working away but will be back in April.
With regards to the resurfacing of the pitch, there is a meeting on Tuesday 27th January to finalise details of the work to be undertaken, just in time for the elections!!!!

TWO BITS OF NEWS, ONE GOOD & ONE NOT SO GOOD
First the good news:
At a meeting of the Mazarron council last Tuesday night the order for the new artificial pitches at Bala Azul and our ground has been placed with a new company after the previous contractor pulled out of the contract. But work will not commence until May at the earliest. It's now a race to see what get used first, the airport at Corvera our our new footballing surface.
Now the bad:
Due to work and family commitments fans favourite and Mazarron stalwart CECILLIO has signed for Soho Med and is now working under our old manager Antonio Lorennte. I'm sure that you all wish him the best of luck for the future and thank him for the service that he gave to Mazarron FC.
He is regularly on this forum and the Los Amigos face book site so must still hold our team close to his heart.

SHOULD THEY BE ALLOWED TO PLAY ON SUCH A PITCH?
Today, 8/2/2015 lowly Fuente Alamo beat 2nd placed Beniajan 2-1 on their s*it heap of an earth pitch, the same scoreline as they beat Mazarron FC.
is it not unfair that Fuente Alamo play and train on the only earth pitch in our league and thereby gain an unfair advantage? Is it not also dangerous to players to force them to play football on this rutted, stone strewn surface which is as hard as concrete?
Until two seasons ago they played in Los Pallas on an excellent natural surface but maybe moved to gain this unfair advantage over other sides. Just plain wrong and dangerous.

WILL THERE BE FOOTBALL NEXT WEEKEND (7th/8th FEBRUARY)? I am led to a understand that the FFRM are in dispute with the sport national body and are threatening to suspend games next weekend, watch and his space. There have been rumblings throughout Spain all this month. Various federations have cancelled various leagues. The protests are against the government rather than the football authorities. There is a proposal to require all 'employees' to be enrolled in the national social system with appropriate salary and income tax deductions being made. For me, the obvious answer would be to ensure all payments are no more than 'expenses', but there will be many who see this as a tightening up of the Hacienda controls. Incidentally, I think the federations are taking the opportunity to criticise the balance of national funding between the top leagues and the 'grassroots' leagues. Ps................MARCH!
