SORRY LES (But Harry Rednapp is available)
Aston Villa have named Dean Smith as their new head coach, with ex-Chelsea defender John Terry as his assistant.
Smith, 47, leaves Brentford, who he led to top-10 finishes in the Championship in each of his three seasons as boss.
Former England captain Terry, 37 retired on Sunday after leaving Villa in the summer, while Jesus Garcia Pitarch joins as sporting director
AND HERE IS THE LIST OF CANDIDATES WHO TURNED THE JOB DOWN
Villa had to identify other candidates to replace Bruce after their initial choices; Thierry Henry, Brendan Rodgers and former Manchester United assistant Rui Faria all ruled themselves out of contention.
So Dean Smith was 4th choice 🤣

So Dean Smith was 4th choice 🤣 It's a funny old world... Smith had a win percentage of less than 40% but Warburton was over 50%. I still believe Smith's success was based on the legacy left to him by Warburton. Let's see how he copes with the legacy left to him by Brucie!!!

PAUL NO LONGER PLOUGHING A LONELY FURROW
Ipswich Town have sacked manager Paul Hurst after just one win from 14 Championship games since his appointment in May.
The former Grimsby and Shrewsbury boss, 44, replaced Mick McCarthy but had to wait until October for his first - and only - league victory in charge.
A 2-0 defeat at Leeds on Wednesday was the seventh of his reign at Portman Road and proved to be his final match.
Hurst leaves the Tractor Boys bottom of the table and four points from safety.

EX CANARY TO BECOME A PLOUGHMAN?
Paul Lambert is in the frame to make his return to management with Ipswich Town, after the Championship strugglers sacked Paul Hurst.
Lambert has been approached by Ipswich and is considering whether to make what would represent a controversial move due to his past association with the club's bitter rivals Norwich.
The 49 year-old is available after leaving Stoke by mutual consent in May and is understood to have held initial talks with Marcus Evans, the Ipswich owner. He managed back-to-back promotions with Norwich, taking them from League One to the Premier League, before leaving for Aston Villa in 2012.
