REALLY? SHOCK HORROR 😱 DIDN’T SEE THIS COMING
Chelsea are set to announce the departure of manager Antonio Conte after two years in charge.
The club have refused to comment on the status of the 48-year-old, who won the Premier League title in his first season and the FA Cup in May.
Conte took pre-season training this week but his future has been a source of contention and ex-Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri expected to take over.
The Blues have reportedly agreed on a compensation package for Sarri, 59. Should Sarri be appointed, he would be Chelsea's ninth full-time manager since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003.
During three years with Napoli, Sarri has not won a major honour but has guided the club to finishes of second, third and second again - behind Juventus in 2017-18. The former Empoli manager was named Serie A Coach of the Year in 2016-17.

I assume 'full-time manager' is a somewhat loose definition?

Jose first to pack his bags?
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is the new favourite to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post this season.
The Portuguese has been cut from 14/1 into 7/1 clear favourite to be the first to lose his job, with a flurry of bets now making him most likely of the top flight bosses to go first according to oddschecker.
He’s overtaken Leicester City boss Claude Puel and Watford manager Javi Gracia, who were installed as the early candidates.

Well, that take long did it? First manager bites the dust.
Blackpool manager Gary Bowyer has left the League One club after just one game of the 2018-19 campaign.
The 47-year-old becomes the first manager in England's top four divisions to depart this season.
Bowyer led the Seasiders to promotion from League Two in 2016-17 and achieved a top-half finish on their return to the third tier.

NIGLE ON THE BRINK?
Adkins questions his own Hull future
Nigel Adkins cast doubt on his future as Hull manager after their 1-0 loss to Blackburn on Saturday.
Bradley Dack’s goal left the Tigers without a win in three Championship games this season and in the relegation zone.
And while Adkins was understated in his general press conference after the game, his frustration both with results and the club’s transfer dealings was evident in a separate interview with BBC Radio Humberside.
“I’ve got to choose my words carefully,” he said. “Today was damaging in respect that we didn’t win a game of football.
“I’m working as best I can with the group of players that we’ve got and if that isn’t going to be good enough, then someone else will have to come and do it.”

Steve McClaren already facing sack at QPR as Socceroo Massimo Luongo caught up in turmoil
FORMER England manager Steve McClaren is in danger of being sacked by QPR less than a month into the new Championship season after his struggling side were beaten 3-0 by Bristol City.
McClaren’s team are rooted to the bottom of the second-tier table following their fourth successive league defeat. They’ve already conceded 13 goals in four games, scoring just two.
The former England coach, dubbed the ‘Wally with the brolly’ during his ill-fated spell with the national team, only took over from Ian Holloway in the close-season.
But reports have suggested he is already on the verge of being axed by QPR chairman Amit Bhatia.

WHAT A SHOCKING DECISION ACROSS THE TRENT
This is what support you get for taking your team to the playoffs
The Magpies announced Nolan's departure from Meadow Lane on Sunday morning.
And in a statement, owner and chairman Alan Hardy said: “This is a decision we’ve made with the best interests of Notts County at heart.
“While the beginning of our 2018-19 campaign has been bitterly disappointing, the board and I believe results and performances throughout 2018 have not been good enough overall.
“The last eight months have seen us win only eight of our 28 Sky Bet League Two matches, a run which saw us surrender our position in the automatic promotion places before suffering defeat in the play-off semi-finals.
“Our away form has also been a continuing concern, with only two league victories record

THE MAGPIES GO FOR AN AUSSIE 🇦🇺
Notts County have announced the appointment of Harry Kewell as their new manager after agreeing a compensation fee with Crawley.

Kewell replaces Kevin Nolan after he was sacked with Notts County bottom of the Football League.
The Australian will be joined at Meadow Lane by assistant Warren Feeney, while the Magpies are on the verge of appointing a "vastly experienced" technical director.

TAXI FOR MR BRUCE?
Steve Bruce is facing two crucial games as he fights for his future, as Aston Villa prepare to appoint a new technical director.
Bruce has been coming under increasing pressure after a dismal start to the season and needs to win at least one of the games against Preston and Millwall to improve his hopes of staying in charge.
The 57-year-old has managed just one victory from the last nine games and faced chants for his dismissal from fans in the 1-1 draw at Bristol City on Friday.

WHAT A WASTE OF A GOOD CABBAGE
A supporter threw a cabbage at under-pressure Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce before his side's dramatic draw with Preston, in which Glenn Whelan missed a 97th-minute penalty.
Bruce said victory would not have made up for the abuse he was subjected to by sections of the crowd and it was "for others to decide what happens now".
