WHAT A SHOCK, STEP UP PEP.
Chelsea have sacked manager Jose Mourinho seven months after he led them to the Premier League title.
The 52-year-old Portuguese had been in his second spell at the club, taking charge in June 2013.
Chelsea finished eight points clear last season and also won the League Cup, but have endured a terrible start to their defence, losing nine of their 16 league games so far.
Mourinho's final match was Monday's 2-1 defeat at leaders Leicester City. Pep Guardiola, Guus Hiddink, Brendan Rodgers and Juande Ramos have all been touted as possible successors.

Not sure about Guardiola! Seems he's 90% certain to go to City with Ancelotti replacing him at Bayern. (According to Marca.)
No news on Pellegrini or Benitez tho'.

GOT TO BE A SHORT TERM APPOINTMENT UNTIL PEP'S AVAILABLE.
Guus Hiddink is in talks with Chelsea about becoming Jose Mourinho's successor, BBC Sport has learned.
The 69-year-old Dutchman is currently at a London hotel holding discussions with Blues officials.
Hiddink, who has already had one spell as Chelsea boss, is yet to sign a contract but is set to become manager on an interim basis.
The Blues are currently 16th in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone.
Mourinho was sacked as manager on Thursday, just seven months after guiding Chelsea to the Premier League title.
Hiddink won six Dutch league titles and the European Cup in his time as PSV Eindhoven manager.
He has also coached South Korea, Australia and Russia before leading Chelsea to FA Cup success in 2009.
Since then, he has endured unsuccessful spells as manager of Turkey, Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala and the Netherlands.
He stood down as Netherlands boss in June, with their Euro 2016 qualifying hopes already in disarray.

HOW MANY MORE CHANCES WILL THIS SERIAL FAILURE GET?
Chesterfield have appointed former Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Barnsley manager Danny Wilson as their new boss.
The 55-year-old replaces Dean Saunders, who was sacked in November after six months in charge at the Proact Stadium.
Wilson, who left the Tykes in February, takes over a side 18th in League One, having lost their last six matches.
Chesterfield have not disclosed the length of Wilson's contract, but say it extends "beyond the end of the season". More to follow.

AT LAST, RUDDERLESS FULHAM HAS A MANAGER
Fulham have appointed Slavisa Jokanovic as their new head coach.
The Championship side had been without a manager since sacking Kit Symons in early November.
Serb Jokanovic, 47, won promotion to the Premier League with Watford last season but left Vicarage Road after contract talks broke down.

A BIT DIFFERENT THIS ONE
Martin Ling has resigned as manager of League One side Swindon Town because of health reasons.
The 49-year-old, who was appointed on 3 November after Mark Cooper's sacking, had been in charge for just 56 days.
It was Ling's first managerial role since leaving Torquay United in April 2013, having been forced to take time out of the game because of depression.
Swindon won five of their nine matches under Ling, who had also spent time with the Robins as a player.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
A bit close to home this one:-
League Two side Notts County have parted company with manager Ricardo Moniz and his backroom team of Dave Kevan and Dean Yates.
WATCH THIS SPACE
Rumours began spreading like wildfire after last night's game against Morecambe, which were also encouraged by the presence of an available manager - Mark Cooper who left Swindon Town in October.
A number of things have gone wrong for Moniz and a number of things need to be looked at carefully by a new manager, who I think should be an English manager, as communication was a big problem.

AT LAST A NEW FACE TO JOIN THE ROUNDABOUT
Yeovil Town, the Football League's bottom club, have confirmed the appointment of Darren Way following six games in charge as interim boss.
