Leeds United shirt sponsor files winding-up petition against club
Leeds United's shirt sponsor Enterprise Insurance has filed a winding-up petition against the club over an alleged unpaid debt. The company's managing director Andrew Flowers was part of the Sport Capital consortium that had an attempt to take over the club collapse last week.
Italian Massimo Cellino has since agreed to buy a 75% stake in the club, subject to the deal being approved. The case will be heard in the High Court in March.
In 2012 the Gibraltar-based company lent Leeds £1.7m at 7% interest for repayment in 2015.
The Financial Times reports that the petition was filed on 29 January, the day after Sport Capital's bid fell through. Cagliari owner Cellino, 57, agreed a deal with current owners GFH on Friday and his lawyer Chris Farnell promptly told boss Brian McDermott that he had been relieved of his duties.
The former Reading manager was then reinstated the following day with GFH claiming it was still in control of the club. It is believed that the Sport Capital and Together Leeds consortiums have now teamed up to buy the club, dismissing Cellino's bid and promising to match his offer.

"On 3 May [2011], they also went on to win the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup for the 15th time, after beating Northern Premier League Division One South side Carlton Town 6–1 in the final at Field Mill, Mansfield. The victory put them only two victories behind joint record holders Nottingham Forest and Sutton Town."

Yeah, just what we need at the moment!!!
Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies receives a five-match ban from the Football Association after being found guilty of abusing and manhandling referee Anthony Taylor. Davies admitted using abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards the official at half-time of Forest's 2-2 draw against Leicester last month. He denied improper conduct which alleged that he deliberately made contact with Taylor. But this charge was found proven by an independent commission. As well as the suspension, Davies was also fined £9,000.

Portsmouth have not won an FA Cup tie since the 2010 semi-final win over Tottenham. Their reward for that win was a final berth against Chelsea.
Win tonight, 19.11.2014, p and it's Rochdale at home in round two...
19:00 Aldershot v Portsmouth (19:45 GMT)
They say a week is a long time in politics. Try a few years in football.
It is just six-and-a-half seasons since Portsmouth won the FA Cup. A team managed by Harry Redknapp containing Kanu, David James, Glen Johnson, Pedro Mendes. Sol Campbell. Niko Kranjcar of course. Always Niko Kranjcar.
They had Milan Baros and Dave Nugent on the bench! Times were good. European football beckoned. Ties with AC Milan...
Since then? If you are fond of drastic understatements you could say things have been tough. Redknapp left, the money soon after. Tony Adams, Paul Hart, Steve Cotterill, Avram Grant, Michael Appleton, Guy Whittingham and Richie Barker have been in and out of the hotseat.
Richard Curtis would pen the story as 'An administration and three relegations.'
Tonight it's back to the FA Cup, but at the grassroots. Round one replay at non-league Aldershot. Keep believing. By 2021 they could be back in Europe...

AND IT GETS WORSE
Conference Premier side Aldershot knock the 2008 FA Cup winners Portsmouth out of the competition with a 1-0 win in their First Round replay at the Recreation Ground.
Mark Molesley scored the game's only goal when he forced the ball over the line following a goalmouth scramble with just 10 minutes remaining.
Portsmouth could not muster a reply and so the Shots will face League One side Rochdale at home in round two.

FROM BAD TO WORSE AT LEEDS UNITED
Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has been disqualified by the Football League and asked to resign from the club.
The Football League took the decision after obtaining documents from an Italian court, where Cellino was found guilty of tax evasion.
It believes Cellino has breached its "fit and proper" ownership test.
However, he will be entitled to return to the club from 18 March 2015 and can appeal against the League's ruling.

Birmingham 'have funds to complete season'
The Football League has met with representatives from Ernst & Young, the receivers of the parent company that owns Championship club Birmingham City.
Birmingham International Holdings Limited went into receivership earlier this month. In a statement, the League said it had received confirmation that "no funding will be withdrawn from Birmingham City" and "sufficient funds are available to ensure that the club can complete the 2014-15 season." (BUT THEN WHAT?)
It also said the receivers did not believe their appointment in Hong Kong should be considered as an "insolvency event" under Football League regulations, which could lead to a deduction of 10 points.

Cellino denies strike claim
Leeds United president Massimo Cellino has denied telling six Leeds United players to go on strike before Saturday's 2-1 loss to Charlton Athletic, reports The Sun.
The paper says Mirco Antenucci, Giuseppe Bellusci, Dario del Fabro, Marco Silvestri, Souleymane Doukara and Edgar Cani pulled out of Saturday's 2-1 Charlton loss at short notice, insisting they were injured.

FA launch Cellino investigation
Leeds United chairman Massimo Cellino is being investigated by the Football Association, just one day after returning to the club's board.
BBC Radio Leeds understands the FA is looking into whether the Italian sanctioned an unauthorised payment to an unlicensed agent in the transfer of Ross McCormack to Fulham last year.
McCormack, 28, joined the Craven Cottage side for £11m in July.
