GROUND IMPROVEMENTS Just been down to the stadium Pedro Mendez Mendez (so good they named it twice) and improvements to the ground are going on at a pace. The pitch has been scarified, levelled and whilst I was there they were top dressing with sand, seed and fertiliser. The broken seats from the ‘ex pats’ stands have been ripped out, the concrete steps have been repaired and new seating is going in. Next job once the seats are in is a complete repaint job. If you are missing your old broken seat hurry up down to the ground and select it from the pile at the back of the stands, could look good in your living room 😜

Perhaps the ayuntamiento also saw the critical comment on Twitter last week!
Or maybe Pedro told them they could call it something else if it wasn't improved.

GROUND IMPROVEMENTS 7/7/18 Just back from another visit to the stadium and its coming along nicely. There were three guys plus Pedro working on the pitch. The grass is already through the top dressing applied last weekend and further work has been completed regarding the seating. The new seats that have been fitted have been given an initial coat of paint, red or white in homage to Nottingham Forest I think, before their final red/blue finish being applied. By the way the new ITV station is coming along at a pace as well. Anyway here a couple of pictures taken today and I can’t think for the life of me why they came out sideways🤔 but if you tap on them they show the correct way🤗

ANOTHER PICTURE 15th JULY It's a shame we can't do a deal with the local awnings people to replace the covers on the stand. Not only are we not now sponsored by San Antonio, we're not even Mazarrón Club de Futbol any more!

It's that time of year when clubs go bust! Or maybe they get 'sold'. Or maybe they just give-up-the-ghost.
And the first one in the barrel is Lorca F.C.
Those with long memories will remember the name Xu Genbao. He played for the Chinese national team in the 90s and had some sort of connection to Murcia which led to him buying the old La Hoya Lorca team in 2016, then playing in Segunda 'B'. He renamed it Lorca F.C. and it was successful in getting promoted to the Segunda 'A' Division for last season. But, as you now know if you keep watching this forum, they only lasted one season and are now back in Segunda 'B'.
Or, maybe they're not! Mr Xu has been trying to sell the club, but in true Trump style, looks like walking away from the only offer on the table.
You may ask, 'why is the situation of a Segunda 'B' club of any interest to us in the Tercera?' A: Because their 'B' team is currently due to play in the Tercera.
And, guess what.....the final day for registering clubs for participation in the Tercera is......Monday 16th July (TOMORROW).
It seems neither the first team nor the 'B' team has signed up players or staff and the situation could get even more confusing if the first team does not register in Segunda 'B' by the end of the week!
If they don't take up the Segunda 'B' place, it appears the place will be given to Yeclano Deportivo.
As we always say.....watch this space.

Lorca FC - Monday update...
Still no white smoke! The Murcian Fed. has apparently given them another day to register the 'B' team in the Tercera!
Rumours are there are now FOUR offers for the club on the table.
Keep watching...................

Hope Lorca F.C. sort it out. Three teams relegated from 21 sides are better odds for us having a successful first season back in the Tercera than three from twenty, or am I being pessimistic?

Hope Lorca F.C. sort it out. Three teams relegated from 21 sides are better odds for us having a successful first season back in the Tercera than three from twenty, or am I being pessimistic? It's chaos out there! Yeclano are waiting on if they will get a leg-up to 2B. And Algar reckon they may get a leg-up to the Tercera! (Presumably with a knock-on to the Primera and Segunda Autonomicas.) What doesn't help is that the deadline for 2B registrations isn't 'til the end of this week whereas the Tercera registrations should have been lodged by now. We don't seem to get this shambles in the UK - or do I just not hear about it?

Incidentally, assuming this all gets sorted (it usually does), the season should start on Sunday 19th August. (If last year is anything to go by.)

Lorca FC - Tuesday update.
What do we 'know'?
Lorca FC 'B' did NOT register for the Tercera. The Murcian Fed. have stated that will mean the Tercera comprising 20 teams not 21.
But, or course, the chaos doesn't end there as we are still in no-mans-land regarding the Lorca FC first team who have until Friday to register in Segunda B.
I won't change our website until the fat lady has finally performed - probably with publication of the fixture list.
