I know who the man of the match will be, the Mazarrón goal keeper as he saved another penalty on 52 minutes.
Well done Antonio and the score remains at
Abaran 1 v Mazarrón FC 0

FINAL SCORE
Abaran 1 v Mazarrón F.C. 0
In the circumstances not a bad result, taking into consideration that Mazarrón were down to 9 men for the last 15 minutes following an injury to Raso plus Andreo went off injured and both are doubts for the next game. So it’s now back to Mazarrón and with huge local support the boys need a couple of goals to get through to the playoff final.
On a sour note Mazarrón F.C. collected one red and four yellow cards in the game to add to their disciplinary woes!

Alison Golding's match report:
MATCH REPORT – SUNDAY 20TH MAY 2018 PLAY-OFFS – FIRST LEG OUR ABARAN CF 1 - MAZARRON FC 0 Having finished in fourth position in the league, we take on Abaran, who finished fifth, in the play-offs. Our advantage, giving us the home leg second. Arriving at the less than well maintained ground we took our seats on the crumbling concrete steps but were pleased to see the real grass pitch was in good condition. There was good support for both the home and away teams and even the Red Boys had brought a coach load for this important away leg. Abaran kicked off the first half to a pacey start. They had more of the play but were not showing much control in the first few minutes. Mazarron made an early break in just three minutes but Blas Bazan (no 9) could only find the side netting with his final strike. As Abaran started to settle into the game and take more control, Mazarron took on a more defensive style of play. Just six minutes into the game Abaran had a free kick. Struck well into the box Mazarron tried to clear the ball. With the Mazarron players on the goal line the ball the ball was struck in again, this time striking Gato (no 3) on the arm – hand ball – red card – penalty – the worst start for Mazarron. Lining up for the penalty the Mazarron keeper stood “big” in his goalmouth. SAVE!! The ball was punched away and the score remained 0 – 0. Now down to ten men Mazarron knew they had a battle on their hands, but they do have a great way of pulling together when they are a player (or two) down. Following a chance again for Blas (no 9), Abaran broke up the field and struck a perfect shot – goal. After an incident filled eleven minutes Abaran had taken the lead and their fans went wild. Mazarron tried to push forward but were closed down and dispossessed on too many occasions. Abaran were making use of their extra player and Mazarron were stretched. Mazarron were forced to make a substitution after just 29 minutes when Andreo (no 6) sustained an injury and was unable to continue. Both teams had chances but Abaran were on top of the play and Mazarron would have to find a new approach for the second half if they were to get anything from this game. The first half finished 1 – 0
With cheers from the crowd and some words of encouragement from Chris, the teams took their positions for the second half. Mazarron got the half underway and the play went end to end with a series of pointless high balls as with the strong wind, now in Mazarron's favour, swung the ball away from its intended targets. Mazarron were “more together” than in the first half and again Blas (no 9) showed some good skill going forward. But it wasn't long before Abaran had the ball in the box again. After much confusion and with their player appearing to be in an off-side position, the whistle was blown and, oh no, a penalty awarded again. I don't know why, and from the protest by the Red Boys they didn't know why either! Again they stepped up and again - SAVE – our hero of the day had done it again. With only a one goal lead Abaran knew the game was not safe and their play became frantic and more defensive. Still, and not for the want of trying, Mazarron could not find a way through. With a player down Mazarron were holding well but an equalising goal looked like something they could only dream of. To make matters worse, with ten minutes left to play Raso (no 17) crashed to the ground. The game was stopped and the trainer came to his assistance but this was more than the “magic sponge” could deal with and he was forced to leave the field, reducing Mazarron to nine men to finish the game, as they had used there three substitutes throughout the play. Knowing their fate Mazarron just wanted to keep the score at 1 – 0 and threw the whole team into defence for damage limitation. Now I don’t want to speculate about unfair and inconsistent refereeing but when in the closing minutes of the game we witnessed an Abaran player not just committing hand ball but completely taking the ball with him into the net and only being issued a yellow card, it beggars belief. The game ended 1 – 0.
Mazarron made three substitutions. Abaran made four substitutions. Mazarron received four yellow cards and one red card. Abaran received three yellow cards. Man of the match voted for by Los Amigos de Mazarron FC was Antonio Peña – number 13 – The Mazarron goalkeeper. This was an almost unanimous vote. Any keeper who can save not one but two penalties more than deserves this award. Under the circumstances this was not a bad result and one we can hopefully overturn next week at the home leg. Abaran will play hard and it will not be a pretty game but Mazarron have the heart and commitment to do it. COME ON MAZARRON.

I echo the other comments.
At last the powers that be have seen sense. We commend you and hope this is just the first of many sensible decisions going forward regarding ticket pricing. Poor old Raso. I am sure Stuart Pearce would have just tied his boots a bit tighter and got ready for next week. Wouldn't he Steve?

I remember when physo broke his leg whilst playing for West Ham. He told ‘Harry’ that he would try to ‘run it off’
Harry Rednapp later phoned Pearce’s wife say that ‘Stuart has broken a leg’
Her reply was ‘Who’s?’

SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Only one sanction of note from the first leg and that is a one game suspension for Gato for his illegal goal line clearance.
He misses the home game and second leg in Mazarrón but if we get through that game on Sunday he is eligible to play in the next round having received, thankfully, just a single match suspension.
