PLAYOFF PREFERENTE AUTONOMICA ELIMINATORIAS - game 1
Sunday 20/05/2018 kickoff 7pm (19:00)
To be played at the municipal stadium LAS COLONIAS
NUESTRO ABARAN C.F. v MAZARRON F.C.
Both sides come to this first leg of the semi finals of the playoffs on the back of two consecutive defeats although you can add to that Mazarróns opponents were the leagues top two sides whilst Abaran lost at home against mid table Molina and away at fellow playoff contenders Plus Ultra. But what you can read into that I don’t know.
The two sides, who have been long time adversaries, have met home and away this season. The first finish as a 1-1 draw in Mazarrón but Abaran got the upper hand in the second meeting with a 2-1 home win. But when it comes to the playoffs all of that goes out of the window.
In theory Mazarrón FC have the advantage by playing the second game at home when I would imagine our stadium will be packed but having been to Abaran on numerous occasions I also know that their supporters are numerous and vocal. So it will be very important for Mazarrón F.C. to have as many fans as possible at the ground in this very crucial first leg.
For those attending the game the Los Amigos supporters away coach will be traveling as usual and details of the trip will be posted here and on their Facebook site when available. For independent travelers the ground is very easy to find and motorway nearly all the way.
Abaran play in the Municipal stadium LAS COLONIAS on the outskirts of Abaran
Note the change of location.
The Polideportivo Municipal is located at 38°12'39.1"N, 1°23'46.2"W. The stadium is some 85KM from Camposol but should only take 65 minutes as it’s almost motorway all the way. For independent travelers coordinates for the stadium are 38° 12' 29" N, 01° 22' 40" W and direction to the ground are as following:-
Leave Camposol and travel on the RM3 dual carriageway until you join the RM2 travelling towards Totana, jump on the A7 towards Murcia City. Join the A30 travel north, at the KM 107 marker join the MU402 towards Abaran (there is a multi coloured partly completed tower block at this junction) you will reach the stadium situated on your right and is just north of the town .
There is plenty of parking outside of the ground, it has the usual canteen and toilet facilities and all in all quite a neat little stadium.
Abaran play in red shirts and black shorts so expect Mazarrón to be in their white away strip.
END OF SEASON STATS
4th Mazarrón F.C. P 34 W 18 D 6 L 10 GF 70 GA 45 Points 60 5th Abaran P 34 W 17 D 8 L 9 GF 62 GA 39 Points 59
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
If the federation follows the same format as previous seasons all players, unless receiving a red card last weekend, will start the playoffs with a clean slate, which would be beneficial for Mazarrón after the raft of cards they once again picked up last Sunday a worryingly common occurrence. One player who will be missing of course is Boudia who is suspended for 3 months. But when it comes to sanctions what do I know as when it comes to the federation, a law unto themselves. We will find out later this week and any sanctions or suspensions will be posted on the Mazarrón FC forum.
Here’s hoping for a positive first leg🤞

SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Here’s an interesting one, Jorge BROCAL MUNUERA has picked up a one game suspension for accumulating his 5th yellow card in the game last weekend.
Can he play against Abaran?
Abaran of course have no one suspended for this crucial game.

Rip off merchants!
Do the same to them when they come to Mazarrón but with home supporters being charged normal price via a pre paid ticket.
Not many will travel from Abaran to Mazarrón to pre buy as it’s to far.
Once again a team ripping off supporters.

Oh dear ! I'll need to find something else to do this Sunday evening. This standard of football is not worth €8 entrance and an hour and half drive each way for me . If Mazarron could do something to reward the loyal Mazarron faithful who do travel to Abaran by maybe offering them free entry to the return leg this would encourage supporters to travel.

THE OTHER SEMI FINAL
Against the form book Plus Ultra were leading CD Algar 1-0 until the 91st minute when Algar were awarded a penalty which was converted so the final score in the first leg finish 1-1
All to play for.

A bit more about this game, Plus Ultra had eight players booked and their keeper sent off in the 88th minute presumably something to do with the awarding of the penalty so he’ll miss the second leg.

ABARAN v MAZARRÓN FC
Great start to the game.
Mazarrón conceeded a penalty and have a player sent off. The penalty was for hand ball on the line. Penalty taken but not converted. But on 12 minutes Abaran take the lead against 10 man Mazarrón
Currently Abaran 1 v Mazarrón FC 0

HALF TIME
Abaran 1 v Mazarrón F.C. 0
In the circumstances I suppose not a bad half time score line The player sent off for Mazarrón was Gato. Andreo has gone off inured and Dani Morallis replaced him. Further problems down the line with bookings being picked up today. Are the federation starting the playoffs with a clean slate regarding yellow cards? We find out on Thursday. Meanwhile we are back underway in the second half.
