NOTTS. COUNTY
He's coming, oh no he's not.
Ricardo Moniz has pulled out of the running to be the next Notts County manager as the identity of the next permanent man in the hotseat at Meadow Lane took another twist.
The Dutchman, 50, was hotly tipped to become the next Magpies boss after bookmakers had stopped taking bets, this following the sacking of Shaun Derry and Greg Abbott last Monday.
However, the club has now revealed in a statement that they "held lengthy negotiations with Ricardo Moniz about becoming first team manager, but that due to unforeseen family reasons, the Dutchman has been unable to commit to the role."

Locke himself added to PA: "I expect to sign a contract. Hopefully we are not a million miles away but these things take time."

POSSIBLE UPCOMING VACANCY
Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn said he is considering his position after assistant coach Steve Thompson was suspended.
Thompson joined Leeds from neighbours Huddersfield in December and, alongside Redfearn, has overseen the club losing just three league games this year.
"I've got to have a good think,"

THAT DIDN'T LAST LONG DID IT?
Malky Mackay has been sacked as Wigan manager after 138 days in charge of the Championship strugglers.
The 43-year-old former Cardiff City boss, appointed on 19 November following the departure of Uwe Rosler, secured 19 points from a possible 72.
He was sacked following Monday's 2-0 home defeat by Derby County, a result that leaves the Latics eight points adrift of safety with five games left.
"This is a very difficult decision," said Wigan chairman David Sharpe. "But I feel that for the long-term future of the club, there needs to be a change now."
Wigan's defeat by Derby means they have not won a home league game since 30 August, a run of 18 matches.
The club said no decision has been made regarding Mackay's replacement.

NOTTS. COUNTY
He's coming, no he isn't, oh yes he is. The soap opera that they call Notts County.
Notts County are set to appoint Ricardo Moniz as their new manager.
The Dutchman had ruled himself out of the running for the role last week due to "family reasons" but appears to have had a change of heart.
Notts County have been without a permanent manager since the departure of Shaun Derry on 23 March, with Paul Hart and Mick Halsall taking caretaker charge of their recent games.
Moniz has previously managed Red Bull Salzburg and worked as a skills coach at Tottenham.

AND I DIDN'T SEE THIS ONE COMING AS WELL
Wigan Athletic have named former captain Gary Caldwell as their new manager, replacing Malky Mackay who was sacked on Monday
Mackay was dismissed after a 2-0 home defeat by Derby, a result that left the Latics 23rd in the Championship and eight points from safety.
Ex-Scotland international Caldwell, 32, played 111 games for Wigan and was part of their 2013 FA Cup-winning squad.

HAS THE ROUND-ABOUT GOT STUCK?
Freedman to sign new Forest deal
Manager Dougie Freedman says he has shaken hands with Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi on a new deal with the Championship club and expects to sign it before the weekend.
The 40-year-old, who succeeded Stuart Pearce in February, said "There's no problem from my end at all, it's just getting something in black and white.
"But there has been a handshake so I don't see anything that will stop us going forward."

"A record 40 managers across the top four English divisions had been dismissed by the end of March, according to new research published by the League Managers Association.
The highest previous figure up to the same point in the season was the 36 dismissals in the 2012-13 campaign. The total of 16 dismissals in this season's Championship was four up on the previous high of 12, also during the 2012-13 season.
The LMA says that if the trend continues the previous record of 46 for a full season, set in 2006-07, will be exceeded." (BBC Sport)
