The chickens are coming home to roost early this year as finance gets tighter in Spanish football. This is from todays La Verdad, I've highlighted some of the interesting bits.
Employees working in the offices of Real Murcia takes nearly two months of delay in the payment of their salaries.
Nor have gained the Imperial Real Murcia footballers and the only ones being paid are the players of the first team, not least because this season the Football League clubs can not accumulate more than three months' unpaid.
*If the club incurring doesn't pay after 3 months the club shall have no contractual right to their players, who may go to other teams*
For now, the delays experienced by workers in the offices of the club, who have not received a salary for October and November do not know when these two months will be paid. In the first stage of the season the clubs usually have money as they have subscription revenues and television, allowing you to go pay to their workers.
Typically, the problems start arriving after Christmas. In the case of Real Murcia seems that the season will be tough.

OH DEAR, POOR OLD REAL MURCIA When you thought that it couldn't get any worse, it does. To everyones surprise Real Murcia lost out to Cordoba in the promotion play off's last season and boy did they need to go up in order to get much needed TV cash and larger crowds, but it just wasn't to be, and now the chickens have come home to roost. Despite their excellent season there has always been, in the back ground, financial problems at the club with players and staff not being paid and now with the expected cash from promotion not happening the vultures are circling over the ground, well training ground to be accurate. The tax authorities already have an embargo on the €2.5 million TV revenue for last season so that's gone, and now the Murcian town hall have done the same to Real Murcia's training ground and facilities, which they have seized and then they have put them on the market for just over €2 million and being advertised as 'rustic' land. So where are they going to prepare for next season? The club apparently owe the Hacienda €14 million so a whip round is a bit out of the question, and with the manager now gone it looks like there will be a "fire sale" of all of their best players. So what we have here is the classic case of sell your players to pay the debt but then the team doesn't perform so the crowds go down so the debt gets bigger so you sell more players but the team get's worse etc. etc. 2014-15 Doesn't look good for the top team in Murcia does it?

El Presidente, Jesús Samper, isn't the sort of guy you'd even want managing the petty cash! Nuevo Condomina complex, Paramount Theme Park, Real Murcia FC ... a vast legacy of financial shambles for the province of Murcia. I haven't yet found it, but it wouldn't surprise me to find his involvement in the Corvera Airport mess either!

Jesus has pulled another rabbit out of the bag and has got a 5 year deferment on his debt.
Read all about it on the Murcia today web site.

REAL MURCIA have been demoted from the second division to the third tier in Spain after they failed to get their finances in order.

And to rub salt into the wounds, the heavy indebted Real Murcia have now got a €180,000 fine to pay imposed by the federation for their financial irregularities.

Samper is the Ecclestone of Spain! He's made millions by creaming off percentages of the licencing deals for most of the Liga clubs in Spain - and in Argentina where his Santa Monica Group seems to have a lot of the football system in their pockets! Have a scan at the range of businesses which are SMG 'clientes'! www.gruposantamonica.com/gsmsport/publicClients.php?sec=CAnd I think the 'corruption' investigation surrounding the conversion of 'rustica' to 'urbano' land at Nuevo Condomina is still live!

And, what's worse, is they have been put in to Group 1 not the local Group 4 (which has La Hoya, Cartagena and UCAM)! Group 1 is the northernmost group which is where Santander, who took Murcia's place in 2A, would have played. So, for instance, their first game tonight is away at Racing Club de Ferrol - a 1,000 km journey! Count up those travel expenses!
(Incidentally, La Hoya got off to a good start last night with a 2-1 win.)

Remember I pointed out that Real Murcia are in the northern group? Well, next weekend they visit Luanco. Where's that you say! It's NORTH of Gijon!!! I bet you didn't realise there was any land north of Gijon did you!
So it's another expensive 900km trip for Mr Samper to subsidise!

DESPERATE TIMES, DESPERATE MEADURED
Two for the price of one offer on Real Murcia season tickets
Jesús Samper tries to attract loyal fans to the Nueva Condomina despite a poor home debut on Sunday When many of Real Murcia Football club’s diehard fans renewed their season tickets for the 2014/15 campaign it was in the hope that this term would see a more successful conclusion to the attempt to climb into the top division of La Liga, but events over the summer have left them feeling frustrated.
Due to the League’s decision to impose an administrative relegation to Second Divison B on Real Murcia, the supporters now find themselves having paid over-the-odds prices for season tickets to watch a weakened team take on lowlier opposition than they were originally hoping for, and many have called for large discounts to be applied.
In response, the club has announced a policy that may appease some but could also annoy others: for every season ticket already bought, another will be issued free on application, enabling a new member to enjoy a full season at the Nueva Condomina free of charge.
Good news for fans whose friends are interested in acquiring a season ticket and are willing to share the cost, but no doubt annoying for those who would have preferred a partial refund to compensate for the fact that the football they are watching is of a lower level than they had expected.

Only 850km trip this week! To a town we old timers visited in the heady days of 2007! Langreo....birthplace of one David Villa and the site of the start to a famous campaign which saw Mazarrón promoted to the Segunda B. 3 June 2007....Langreo 0-0 Mazarrón CF. We won the second leg 1-0 and went on to win the second round and gain promotion. Videos of those games are on our website: www.mazarronfc.es/videos.htmOh yes....Real Murcia did well there today too....final score Langreo 0-2 Real Murcia. That lifts them to 6th place in their group before this afternoon's matches.

Back up to the magic 1000km again this week! Coruxo (Vigo) 0-1 Real Murcia. So it doesn't seem to be holding them back! With just 3 points covering the top 8 teams, RM are at 5th and in with a shout of promotion.

Wow...what a season. A 1-0 home win against a team that had to travel 700+ Km from Astorga in Leon. Wonder what the other teams in this group think about the distance to travel to Murcia?
Anyway, that moves Real Murcia up to second place in Group 1, just one point behind the leaders Logroñés.
(And, to add to that, the Real Murcia 'B' team ('Imperial') are 5 points clear at the top of the Tercera division!)
And, in 2B Group 4, UCAM Murcia are steaming ahead and out in front by 5 points. But La Hoya Lorca are languishing just 1 point above the drop zone!

Another 1000km for Murcia yesterday to SD Compostella. A 1-1 draw means they drop off the top to third place. Still in the hunt for promotion though.
(A game we sort of heard on the coach back yesterday - no DVDs to watch!)

Real Murcia's visitors last Sunday had to endure the 1000 km drive! AS Somozas (just 40 km from the very top left-hand corner of Spain) went home with nul points. And that put RM one point clear on top of the division.
