If anyone isn't going over to El Algar for the Mazarron game, you could do worse than potter on down the A7 to Lorca.
5 pm kick-off....LORCA DEPORTIVA vs LORCA FC!
The Guardia have been discussing where to segregate the fans. I imagine that won't be too much of a problem - even if all 500 or so of each side turn up in the 8,000 capacity Artes Carrasco!

Well, it ended with Lorca Deportiva taking the three points with a 1-0 win.
But the real story is the 7 yellows for Lorca Dep. (2 for George Higgins - I thought he was a celebrated matador?) and the 3 yellows and 1 red for Lorca FC.
I'll try to find a match report.

Here's the LaVerdad report. It looks like it was a quite docile affair really!
The red card was for deliberate handball. Mr Higgins probably got too excited (the matador 'Higgins' was a 'Henry'!).
And they managed to pull in 1,800 spectators.
"The Lorca Deportiva takes a very equal derby and looks up

A special match with the first derby in the City of the Sun for more than two decades after it ended with a win for Lorca Deportiva thanks to a goal from Manu Costa with seven minutes to go. Something that allows the team of Sergio Sánchez to approach the promotion posts and that fills a Lorca FC's doubts that are rattling. Confirms, in addition, that Lorca Deportiva is on the right track, after winning five of the last six games played.
The first fifteen minutes passed without the teams reaching the penalty areas. The respect was mutual and the defenses were imposed on the strikers, until the local Zapata was left alone, played after the goalkeeper's exit and the ball went wide. The game began to take other direction when the visitor Cifuentes touched with his hand to prevent the forwards of Lorca Deportiva were left alone and the referee showed him the red card. The visiting coach then deployed Alain to the right and Soto to the center of the defense in an attempt to rebuild the team.
Despite having one more player, Lorca Deportiva did not have clear chances. And is that Lorca FC defended well. In this way, the goalkeepers were two more spectators, while fans of the clubs cheered throughout the game without ceasing. It finished the first half with two disappointing teams in attack, but with a lot of delivery.
The second half began with a change in the local, Diakité left his post to Diego López. Far from dominating the game, Sergio Sánchez's team found an answering Lorca FC who was more around the domains of goalkeeper Sergio. In addition, the forces were equalized with the second card for Higgins in the 69th minute.
The splurge in the center of the field did not correspond with the score, with two teams that began to look helpless to achieve the goal of victory. Germán Álvarez removed Artigas to give access to Andrés, and Albert also entered for Vicent. And in the absence of 7 minutes to go, there was a clearance by Gorka and the ball came to Manu Costa, who was successful to give the win to Lorca Deportiva.
