NEXT AWAY GAME
TERCERA DIVISION GRUPO XIII - game 12
Sunday 04/11/2018 kickoff 11:30
To be played at the CAMPO MUNICIPAL DE ALUMBRES "EL SECANTE"
SFC MINERVA v MAZARRON F.C.
So it’s a quick change round for the boys, Saturday-Wednesday-Sunday, it’s getting a bit like football in the UK.
On Wednesday night Mazarrón took on second placed UCAM Murcia without captain and influential player Adrian Campoy, missing due to accumulation of yellow cards. Somewhat unfortunately Mazarrón came up short losing 0-2 to early and late 95th minute goal the second coming when Mazarrón were camped in the UCAM penalty area looking for an equaliser. But despite all their efforts they could not get on even terms even though they dominated the game for long periods.
Zurdo saw red and an autumn downfall of yellow cards landed on the head of the Mazarrón squad. Maybe a case of these huge amounts of yellow cards that we have shipped so far this season coming back to bite us. Suspensions will be interesting for next weekends contest.
Meanwhile Minera played away at CAP Ciudad de Murcia, a basement battle this one with Minerva coming out 1-2 winners.
SFC MINERVA
A regular opponent over the years for Mazarrón FC and a team that we have had mixed results against. They spent last year in the Tercera Division and did very well finishing in 5th place so narrowly missing out on the playoffs by just one place, so they will be looking to take the next step this season, but that plan is somewhat going off the tracks at the moment with the team languishing in the lower area of the division after a quarter of the season gone.
Mineras ground is situated to the east of Cartagena situated in the small village of Alumbres and if you’ve been there before you will remember it from the nearby large refinery and oil tanks. The pitch has an artificial surface, the seating in on concrete steps so a cushion would be a good addition to your usual equipment. There is a small canteen and good toilet facilities.
For independent travellers the sat nav coordinates are 37° 36' 08" N, 00° 54' 47" W travel from Camposol to Cartagena via the RM 3 - RM 2 - A 30. At the end of the motorway join the CT 34 and travel towards La Union turning off at Alumbres. The ground is on the southern edge of the village. You will need to park up on one side of the railway bridge in the large car park and walk to the ground via the railway tunnel.
Distance to the ground is 61KM but as it’s motorway almost all the way you should get there in 45 minutes.
The Los Amigos supporters away coach will be leaving Camposol at 10.15am on Sunday morning
Minera play in a red shirt and blue shorts so we will be in all white for this game.
CURRENT STATS
MAZARRÓN FC P 11 W 6 D 2 L 3 GF 14 GA 10 Points 20 SFC MINERA P 11 W 3 D 3 L 5 GF 13 GA 17 Points 12
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Well, we know Zurdo will be missing for Mazarrón Plus a number of players are now pushing the five yellow card limit so we will wait and see who will be available. Details will be posted on the forum when available.

SUSPENSIONS UPDATE Minerva have two players out for accumulating yellows. Mazarróns manager has a 4 game suspension for his latest antics and his coaching assistant get 2 game ban for his behaviour. You missed one................. "MAZARRÓN FC - For serious public incidents, shutting down their sporting facilities during a game, being a repeat in this type of incident."
It was always going to come. If the management keep on inciting the players the way they seem to be, the club will suffer even more in the remaining weeks. Are we really a win-at-all-costs club? It's only a couple of seasons ago when the club won the Fair Play award. EDIT:.....just noticed the 2000€ fine to boot! Add that to the fact the club will lose a packet on gate receipts and cantina takings - even if they do play at Pareton. www.mazarronhoy.com/noticias/2018/11/02/municipal-pedro-mendez-sancionado-partido-n17256.asp

Well now....the plot thickens.
It seems the ground closure may not be due to events INSIDE the ground. Did anyone see eggs being thrown at the UCAM-Murcia coach as it left?
There may be a club appeal in the offing.
Here's the video from inside the UCAM-Murcia coach......it's a bit dark but anyone recognise any of the culprits?
There's a rather distinctive pair of blue jeans and white trainers - could even be me if I didn't have a water-tight alibi!
Seems like, from now on, we won't be able to comment on the events at Cieza those years ago!

€10???
They’re having a laugh.
Is it because they know we have a big away following?
Keep an eye on the gate and see what they charge the locals, I’ve seen it so many times before, one price for us and one for them.
Disgusting explortation of visiting supporters.

Also Dani Barrelis who was injured and not even in the squad has been suspended for 5 games for "provoking another and insulting the referee".
It seems there was another incident in the tunnel area. Raul Antonio Sorroche Zapata ("Chicho"), another injured player was suspended for 4 games for insulting the referee.
There was hardly a bad foul in a very entertaining game and apart from the usual time wasting and feigning injury by the visiting players, nothing to get excited about!!!

Dave,
I think the Amigos officers (and the Redboys?) need to sit down with the club Presidente and sort this lot out.
Something has definitely gone wrong throughout the squad that is causing them to get these cards/suspensions.
We all know what happens. The club's reputation goes before them and the card-happy officials get them out at any opportunity.
If even Pedro is getting caught up in the mess, it says something has to change. He used to be the one to break-up any problems.
You, yourself, seem to be admitting that it's not the football that's getting the punishments, it's the players' and staff attitudes.

I agree Les, my original reply to you was based on what we had seen during the 90 minutes of what was an entertaining game -only one really controversial decision the booking of Andreo for what was an excellent tackle.
Obviously, a lot must have happened after the game with the coach and two players who were not even in the squad given lengthy suspensions. This time it seems the supporters are blameless.

Oh dear!
Maybe my season ticket wasn't a good investment. After Norwich's big win I was planning a trip out to see if another accumulator comes to fruition but not at that price.

SFC MINERVA 1 MAZARRON FC 1
Mazarron were without five players through suspension but managed to earn a point in a disappointing 1-1 draw at SFC Minerva.
Minerva started the game like a house on fire, earning four corners in the first five minutes but all were well defended by Mazarron's makeshift defence which included Alberto at right back and Boudia at centre half. Then Minerva broke down the right and a cross was met with a first time shot which Antonio Pena saved at point blank range.
It was 13 minutes before Mazarron were able to launch their first attack. Andreo's pass found Diego who cut inside before hitting a right foot shot which was tipped around the post by the Minerva keeper. Minerva continued to press forward and forced another corner which was again easily dealt with.
Then on 21 minutes Mazarron were awarded a rare free kick and Salva Ballesta's pin point cross was met by Alberto who sent a looping header into the corner of the net to give Mazarron the lead. Almost immediately, a goalmouth scramble saw Alberto nearly grab his second goal but he just failed to turn the ball home.
Mazarron were now on top and Salva Ballesta had another free kick deflected for a corner from which Adrian Campoy headed Javi's corner kick well wide. On 29 minutes a clever free kick from Xavi saw Basi chipping the ball into the middle and Adrian Campoy's header was just tipped around the post for a corner.
Minerva's best effort of the first half came when a long range effort saw the ball rebounding off the post with Antonio Pena struggling to make his ground. The Mazarron keeper then raced off his line to save with his feet and break up another dangerous Minerva attack and maintain Mazarron's 1-0 lead at the interval.
Mazarron started the second half well with Basi and Chino combining to force a corner but Mazarron's cause was weakened after 52 minutes when the industrious Andreo was forced to leave the field with an injury. Even so Chino made a splendid break down the right before cutting inside and hitting a left foot shot towards the far post where Diego was just unable to turn the ball home.
Thereafter, it was all Minerva as Mazarron went onto the defensive to try to secure their one goal lead. They were unable to string two passes together and gave the ball away far too often, especially from wasted kicks from goalkeeper Antonio Pena towards the lone striker Basi.
Pena made a good save on 70 minutes to keep out a downward header but he was beaten from the resulting corner when substitute Severiano outjumped him to head into the empty net for the equaliser. Mazarron almost replied immediately but Salva Ballesta's free kick was headed onto the bar by Adrian Campoy.
Pena was called into action again on 75 minutes to thwart a Minerva breakaway and, at the other end, an excellent pass by Salva Ballesta saw Basi racing clear only to see his shot blocked by the home keeper.
Mazarron continued to give the ball away and were second best to all throw ins and free kicks but produced a dangerous move on 83 minutes with Basi, Salva and Diego involved. a move which ended with shouts for a penalty for handball ignored by the referee.
With virtually the last kick of the game Salva Ballesta tried an audacious free kick from the half way line which caught the Minerva keeper off his line but, unfortunately for Mazarron and their large band of travelling supporters, hit the cross bar and went just over.
The referee was again well below the standard required but at least Mazarron only received two yellow cards this week. On the whole it was a below par performance from Mazarron but a point away from home is not to be sneezed at.
Team: Antonio Pena; Alberto; Adrian Campoy; Boudia; Gato; Andreo (Heredia); Chino (Daniel); Xavi; Basi; Diego; Salva Ballesta.
Man of the Match: Adrian Campoy.
