Failure to get promoted out of Segunda B last season could be a big problem for what used to be the biggest team in the region. Jésus Samper's legacy when he died in 2015 (he of Paramount at Alhama fame!) will always be remembered as the 16 million euros owed to the taxman by the football club. The debt is still there and, languishing in Segunda B for another season whilst Lorca FC sails off to the Segunda A, and Jumilla, FC Cartagena, UCAM Murcia and Lorca Deportiva compete for the local attention, Real Murcia will be unlikely to put much of a dent in it for another year. Strange things are happening. Rumours of links between Real Murcia and Jumilla, and the new Real Murcia City in the Preferente having some links to Real Murcia CF but not being an official 'filial' (subsidiary). Don't be surprised if the balloon goes up in the next few months. realmurcia.laverdad.es/accionistas-temen-plan-20170726013130-ntvo.html

FINANCIAL LIFELINE FOR REAL MURCIA?
Middlesbrough FC have ordered by FIFA to pay Real Murcia one million Euros plus interest as part of the transfer deal which took Kike Garcia to the Riverside stadium four years ago.
Garcia was part of Aitor Karanka (now the manager of Nottingham Forest) team that gained promotion to he premier league but failed to pay the add on fee which was part of the deal if they gained promotion.
This cash could help Real Murcias financial crisis at the club.
Garcia now plays back in Spain with SD Eibar who whupped Real Madrid 3-0 last weekend with Kike Garcia scoring the third goal.
