Ten seasons ago, Swansea and Hull met in the bottom division of English football in front of fewer than 6,000 people in the old Vetch, a stadium so unappealing it made the prison alongside it look like a contender for the Stirling Prize for architecture.
I defy anyone who was there to have predicted, or even dreamt, that within a decade they'd not only be meeting in the Premier League, but meeting with mid-table security in sight.
There's hope for us all.

Brucie still lives round here. Hope I don't bump into him in Sainsburys after that daylight robbery!
Watched the second half in the pub and Hull were definitely the better side.

Looks like England will have an uphill struggle to qualify for the 2016 Euros after being placed in the same group as some of Europe's biggest and best nations. SWITZERLAND, SLOVENIA, ESTONIA, LITHUANIA and the mighty SAN MARINO. If England can't win this group we might as well withdraw form all football competitions.

You have to laugh at this draw! What was the topic on everyone's lips south of Marbella? Gibraltar versus Spain! And what was the first team out of the hat to go in the same group as seeded Spain? You guessed it GIBRALTAR!
But the spoilsports that are UEFA decided they shouldn't meet in the first round so dumped them into the next group against Germany.
So, no chance now of a rumble in the jungle!

HULL CITY NOT TO BECOME "HULL TIGERS" The FA is expected to tell Hull City's owners that they are not allowed to change the club's name to Hull Tigers. Sky sports News understands the FA Membership Committee will recommend that the FA Council reject an application by the club's owner Assem Allam to change the name, which has been used since the club was founded in 1904. And rightly so!

THERE MAY BE TROUBLE AHEAD Hull City: FA Council rejects proposed name change to Tigers Hull City's proposed name change to Hull Tigers has been rejected by the Football Association Council. The Council's decision - carried by a 63.5% vote of its members - followed the recommendation of the governing body's membership committee. Fans' group City Till We Die said they were "delighted" with the decision. Owner Assem Allam, who took charge of the club in in December 2010, has threatened to sell if he is not allowed to change the 110-year-old name. On Monday, City season card holders had narrowly voted in favour the plan.

GOOD OLD HARRY
Following the game between QPR and Manchester United the QPR team had to travel back to London by coach.
They would normally reserve a whole carriage on the train but were unable to do so this time.
Quote from Harry Rednapp:
"It must have been full of Manchester United supporters traveling home to London"
Nice one Harry, nice one son Nice one Harry, lets have another one.
Final score
Vanchester United 4 Harry's hoops 0

THE ENGLISH FA TO FOLLOW MAZARRON FC's LEAD? Artificial pitches set to return to Football LeagueThe return of artificial pitches to the Football League has been backed by club chairmen in League One and Two. At a meeting on Thursday they gave a strong indication they would vote in favour of permitting 3G ("third generation") surfaces from next season. They will take a formal vote in November. Artificial surfaces were banned from English professional football in 1995 over issues with ball roll and bounce and fears over long-term injuries
