CD LUMBRERAS v MAZARRON FC
6.30pm (18.30) SATURDAY 5th APRIL 2014
(These are the details published on CD Lumbreras official web site but yet to be confirmed by the federation)
We are off on the road again next weekend on Saturday 5th April and this time we will be spending another afternoon in the pleasant stadium of Lumbreras, a stadium I have been to 3 times and, with fingers crossed, have always come away with a good result for Mazarron FC.
CD Lumbrera's home ground is within an excellent sporting complex with running tracks, swimming pools, tennis courts and a modern 2000 seat football stadium with a grass pitch, although the seating isn't covered there is plenty of elevated seating available down one side of the ground. There is an excellent canteen and modern, clean toilet facilities. You will enjoy your day there I'm sure.
The ground is situated just outside of the town of Puerto Lumbreras and is only 63km's and 40 minutes away from Camposol and is very easy to find. I will be giving direction to those of you who are independently travelling to this game, although I don't know why I bother as some of you ignore them and finish up in a petrol station or an orchard, don't you Dave?? :-))
CD Lumbreras were established, in their present form, in 1968 and have bounced between the Trecera division and our Primera autonomica league throughout their existence never going to the higher divisions. They play their home games in RED shirts so I would presume we will be in our changed strip of BLUE.
They are currently 4th from the bottom of our league but well clear of the dreaded bottom three who, it seems, are destined for relegation, so it looks like their season is fizzling out.
CD Lumbreras are something of a draw specialist with 8 games ending with the points shared and they have only scored 21 goals this season compered to Mazarron's 53although conceding 4 less goals than us.
These stat's are reflected in their top goal scores who are Mario Simon Berriatua MINARRO & Ramon Bayonas HERNANDEZ both of whom have only scored but 4 goals each this season.
Last weekend they were away at CD Esparragal where they were thumped 4-1.
CURRENT STATS:
12th MAZARRON FC P 26 W 11 D 2 L 13 GF 53 GA 47 Points 35
15th CD LUMBRERAS P 25 W 6 D 8 L 11 GF 21 GA 43 Points 26
SANCTION/SUSPENSIONS
Sanctions/suspensions will be circulated when further information becomes available.
Here is what happened when CD Lumbreras visited Mazarron on the 24th November 2013
Mazarron FC 2 CD Lumbreras 0
On the day Mazarron missing Jose Ruben, suspended, and Gilbert playing as a full back, Adrian started for Mazarron FC and the strike force was Alcon, now left, and Cecilio.
Mazarron FC had the better of most of the first half and the break through came from an unlikely source. A perfectly delivered corner drop straight onto the waiting Juan Andreo's (Sam) head giving the keeper no chance.
A greatly improved Ruben pulled off 4 great saves during the game and the defence appear more confident with the young Mazarron goal minder.
When the half time whistle was blown by the excellent referee Mazarron went in buoyed by a solid first half display.
HALF TIME MAZARRON FC 1 CD LUMBRERAS 0
The second half started slowly and Lumbreras came more and more into the game to the extent that they had Mazarron on the back foot. Lumbreras were guilty of at least one open goal miss and had a goal, rightly, disallowed for offside.
It took the brilliance of Alfonso to allow Mazarron to take charge of the game. Taking the ball on the left wing, cutting inside the penalty area beating two defenders he then slammed the ball home to double Mazarrons lead.
MAZARRON FC 2 CD LUMBRERAS 0
The game was then up for CD Lumbreras who just couldn't get going and Mazarron saw out the rest of the game with ease.
The team were cheered from the pitch as Juan Andreo (Sam) received his man of the match bottle, not only for his goal scoring antics but for an all round dominant defencive display. But in all honest it could have easily gone to Cecilio, Alfonso and the ever improving Rubens in goal.
DIRECTIONS TO THE GROUND.

Stay on this A7 motorway all the way to Puerto Lumbreras until you reach junction 574 (the junction number might have changed recently) which is the junction just passed Puerto Lumbreras and is signed PUERTO LUMBRERAS/AL MENDRICOS.
The slip road will take you under the A7 motorway and brings you to a traffic island. Take the third turning signed PUERTO LUMBRERAS.
