CF MOLINA 'B' v MAZARRON FC
Saturday 22nd or Sunday 23rd March 2014
Well we are off on the road again next weekend when we visit CF Molina 'B'. The final details have yet to be released but CF Molina have played almost all of their home games on a Sunday, but more details will be circulated as soon as I get them.
CF Molina's ground is located to the North West of the city of Murcia, 61 KM from Camposol with a travelling time of 51 minutes. Getting there is very simple and I will give directions at the end of this email for independent travellers.
We have had the privilege of playing CF Molina 'B' over the last two years. Last season we beat them 4-1 at home only for them to gain revenge 2-1 in the return fixture. In the first meeting between the teams this season in early November Mazarron FC again ran out 4-1 winner, I just hope that the return fixture doesn't have the same result as last season. You can remind yourself of what happened in first game played earlier this season in a brief summary below.
CF Molina 'B' play their home games at the "SÁNCHEZ CÁNOVAS" stadium which has a capacity of 4,500 but with no roof cover to the 4 tier seating (take a hat) The playing surface is one of natural grass and CF Molina 'B' play in BLUE so make sure that you wear something RED. There is the usual canteen facilities, uncovered seating, decent toilets so all in all not a bad location to spend an afternoon watching football being played.
WHAT HAPPENED EARLIER THIS SEASON
Mazarron FC 4 CF Molina 1
Mazarrón played a more attacking set up against Molina but it was the introduction of Cecilio before things really started to happen.
The first 30 minutes were quite uneventfully besides the normally reliable Alfonso missing a sitter and Randry getting the first of his two yellow cards of the afternoon. The striker for the day, Alcon (now departed) and Ruben both had chances but it took until the 35 minute before the ball was shots expert volleyed in by Moha following a headed cross by Jose Ruben.
1-0
The other talking points of that first half were the bookings of Alcaraz and Alfonso and Molina pulling one back when Mazarrón's keeper (now departed) Noguera could only fumble a long range free kick into his own net.
HALF TIME 1 – 1
Mazarrón took the lead when Alfonso lobbed the stranded keeper who had strayed off his line.
2-1
Next up it was Ruben turn to repeat the trick, lobbed over the advancing Molina keeper who had gone 'walkabout'
3-1
Later there was a second booking for Randry so off he went for an early shower.
Although down to 10 men Mazarron FC continued to control the game and it was Jose Ruben who scored the final goal when, as only JR can, he collected the ball on the half way line and shrugged off the attentions of 3 or 4 Molina defenders before completing the move with a fine finish.
FULL TIME 4-1
After this win Mazarron FC moved back into contention for a promotion position
Team: Noguera, Gilberto (Juanillo), Juan Andreo, Alcaraz, Dani (Cecilio), Alfonso, Tico, Moha (Fran), Randrey, Alcon, Ruben
Man of the Match: Alfonso.
Since this game fortunes have somewhat varied for both teams with Mazarron FC making further progress until the new year when we have seen a mini slump in both performance and results and Molina bumbling along near to the foot of the table and are 'shipping a lot of goals.
Last weekend Molina lost 2-3 at home against CD Esparragal while Mazarron FC lost 0-1, again at home, against La Hoya. But now with a new face at the helm all that we can do as supporters is to give him our support for the last 10 games of the season.

DIRECTIONS TO THE GROUND
For those of you with 'sat navs' the co ordinates are 38° 03' 05" N, 01° 13' 30" W
It's a very simple route to get to the ground with just the last little bit being a bit tricky: Take the dual carriageway running passed Camposol and join the A7 motorway at Alhama and travel towards Murcia.
At juction 654 (the number might have changed but it is the junction AFTER the Alcanterilla turn off and is sign posted LAS TORRES DE CONTILLAS and JAVALI NUEVO) leave the motorway and at the roundabout at the bottom of the slipway turn left joining the N334 towards Las Torres de Contillas and Molina de Segura.
STAY ON THE N334 all the way almost all the way to Molina de Segura.
About 1KM from the town you will cross the RIO SEGURA and 500 meters later you will reach a traffic island.
Go straight over this roundabout and after a short distance (about 20 meters) later take the sharp right hand turn. THIS TURN IS DIRECTLY OPPOSITE AN ALDI STORE. The signs are small, so watch out, and they say "Soto de la Hijuela" and "Estadio SÁNCHEZ CÁNOVAS'
This country road will lead you straight to the ground which is situated on a tight left hand bend about 1km along the road. At the ground there is lots of parking spaces available.
