England's women have beaten Canada 2-0, which means they are through to the final of the Cyprus Cup.
So they show the lads how to get to a final, I hope that it doesn't go to penalties:-)
England could face Scotland, who play Australia at later today.

Just a bit more information.
As you may know, England's women will face France in Wednesday's (12.3.2014) Cyprus Cup final after they beat Canada 2-0, courtesy of a Lianne Sanderson double. It was Sanderson's first tournament back with the England squad after falling out with the previous manager and had not played for the national team for 2 years.
England are the defending champions, however they have not beaten France since 1974.

Womens' football still has a long way to go! This is supposed to be one of the most prestigeous tournaments, yet I cannot see a single spectator in any of the online photos!
None of the published reports quotes an attendance figure for the final and the 'official' tournament website merely lists the match scores with more space given to a publicity hype for the island.

WORLD CUP QUALIFIER: ENGLAND 9 V MONTENEGRO 0
Could have been 20-0 with many missed chances, 2 rock solid penalties denied, hit the woodwork twice. But you have to be happy with 9 goals.

Women's Champions League
We need everyone to get supporting tomorrow (Sunday 14:45 Spanish) as Birmingham Ladies go to Sweden to take on Tyresó in the second leg of the semi-final in the Womens UEFA Champions League.
The Tyresó team includes the Brazilian Marta, the 5-times winner of the FIFA Womens World Player of the Year. She's rumoured to be on $400,000 a season (paid by sponsors) - not bad eh?
The first leg was 0-0. The winners will take on either Wolfsburg or Potsdam of Germany in the final in Lisbon - 2 days before the men's CL final there next month.
Birmingham Ladies play just up the road from here and I might have to start sharing my supporting loyalties!

A bit of an anti-climax, I'm afraid!
"Tyresö FF will feature in next month's UEFA Women's Champions League final thanks to a 3-0 second-leg victory against Birmingham City LFC.
With last weekend's semi-final opener having finished goalless, it took just over an hour for the deadlock to be broken in Sweden, Christen Press registering her eighth goal in Europe this term after Marta had missed from the spot. The American international doubled the lead 11 minutes later and Marta completed the formalities in added time.
The hosts dictated the tempo for long periods of the first half, with Lisa Dahlkvist and Marta both going close. The pressure looked to have told shortly after the interval when Chelsea Weston handled in the area, but Marta steered the resulting penalty wide.
Spain forward Verónica Boquete then rattled the woodwork before Press made no mistake, combining with Malin Diaz and firing past visiting goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer. The English team's response was spirited, yet they fell further behind when Press scored from close range after Diaz's shot had been cleared off the line.
Press turned creator three minutes into added time, teeing up Brazil forward Marta, who produced a composed finish. Tyresö will now face VfL Wolfsburg in the 22 May Lisbon showpiece."

England beat Canada 21-9 in Paris to win the Women's Rugby World Cup for the first time in 20 years. (BBC Sport)
(And in the other game - baseball on Valium as Robin Williams christened it - well done to the fellows for wrapping it up against India.)

England Ladies soccer do us proud again.....
England finished their Women's World Cup qualifying campaign with a 100% record as forward Eni Aluko's hat-trick helped secure an emphatic 10-0 win against Montenegro.
Mark Sampson's team showed the ruthless streak the head coach had asked for to take their goal aggregate to 52-1 in 10 group matches.
England had already qualified for next year's finals in Canada,
