...of the regular season in the Tercera.
Imagine the scene....
You start the day leading the division on 88 points with the second team on 86 points. You've led the division for most of the season, at one time being 12 points clear!
After 88 minutes, you are losing 1-2 and the second team is winning 3-0.
You win a corner....send up the 'keeper....
And that goal by 'keeper Serna gave Yeclano Deportivo the Tercera Championship. Tied on points with Lorca Deportiva but a better head-to-head with a win and a draw in their games.
Lorca came so close after finishing the season with FIFTEEN wins and four draws in their last 19 games.

You just couldn’t make it up.
Well done Yeclano, I hope that they get through the playoffs so we don’t have to play them again next season.

What that result means for Yeclano is that they only have one play-off tie (two legs) to get through to gain promotion to Segunda 'B'.
Their opponents will be UM Escobedo from Santander. (Reminds me of our trip to Oviedo!)
Lorca Deportiva, Lorca FC and EDMF Churra will have two rounds of ties to survive. In the first round, they will play:
CD SARIÑENA (Huesca) vs CF LORCA DEPORTIVA ALCOBENDAS SPORT (Madrid) vs LORCA FC EDMF CHURRA vs GIMNASTICA SEGOVIANA
All games to be played 26th May and 2nd June. With both the Lorca teams drawn away, I assume one return game will be played on the Saturday.
If Yeclano lose their tie, they will join any of our other winners in a second round of play-offs 1/2 weeks later.

Here are the first leg results:
Yeclano Deportivo 6-0 UM Escobedo
Fútbol Alcobendas Sport 1-1 Lorca FC CD Sariñena 1-0 CF Lorca Deportiva EDMF Churra 0-0 Gimnástica Segoviana CF
Looks like Yeclano are on the way to Segunda 'B' after several years of near misses! All the others still have much work to do.

The second leg results are coming in:
CF Lorca Deportiva 3-0 CD Sariñena (Agg: 3-1) Gimnástica Segoviana CF 3-0 EDMF Churra (Agg: 3-0)
So Lorca Deportiva progess to the next stage but Churra miss out for this year.
And Lorca FC miss out too....
Lorca FC 1-2 Fútbol Alcobendas Sport (Agg: 2-3)
But YECLANO are promoted to the Segunda B
UM Escobedo 1-0 Yeclano Deportivo (Agg: 1-6)
Which will mean one more team will be promoted from the Preferente to the Tercera.
(EDIT: I SEE THIS MAY NOT BE THE CASE AS JUMILLA HAVE BEEN RELEGATED INTO THE TERCERA AND THEY MAY JUST TAKE THE PLACE VACATED BY YECLANO!)

Another interesting success in promotion to Segunda B is one Orihuela C.F.
In charge of their junior teams is one José Antonio Rodríguez Girona - we know him better as 'Machuca'. The manager who successfully got promotion to Segunda 'B' for Mazarron.

Only one goal deficit to make up....
First leg:
CF Unión Viera 1-0 CF Lorca Deportiva
And make it up they did...........
CF Lorca Deportiva 2-1 CF Unión Viera
But they still go out on away goals.
