CHAMPIONS LEAGUE IMPLICATIONS?
UEFA’s club financial control body chief investigator has referred Manchester City to the adjudicatory chamber for breaches of financial fair play regulations, Europe’s governing body has announced.
City were fined £49million and hit with restrictions on transfer spending and their Champions League squad after FFP breaches were originally investigated in 2014, and UEFA began a new probe after further allegations about the same period were made in German publication Der Spiegel last year.
They are talking about a possible ban from the European league clubs top competition if allegations are proven.

NO WONDER THEY TERRORISED THE CHAMPIONSHIP LAST SEASON
'Sheffield United received loan from bin Laden's family'
Sheffield United Football Club was funded by a £3million loan from Osama bin Laden’s family, it has emerged in court today.
According to the Sheffield Star, Andreas Gledhill QC, for Prince Abdullah, revealed that a £3 million loan to the Blades, which the owners are in dispute over, came from the ‘Bin Laden’ family.
The court heard about emails in which the £3m was discussed, including one in which SUFC director Jeremy Tutton said he would have hated to have seen a headline in The Star saying ‘Blades launder money for extremists

NOW NOW BOYS, PLAY NICELY
Middlesbrough have stunned Derby by announcing their intention to sue the Championship club, days before the play-off final at Wembley.
Steve Gibson, the Middlesbrough owner, has taken drastic action in his dispute with Mel Morris by vowing to take legal action over what he insists are clear breaches of financial rules.
Gibson is alleging that Morris has broken the English Football League’s profitability and sustainability rules and Middlesbrough officials contacted Derby on Friday to inform them of their stance.
Boro are understood to be furious that Derby reported a £14.6m profit in their 2017/18 accounts, after Morris sold the club’s Pride Park stadium and then leased it back. Gibson believes that Morris has flouted the rules.

THE TALE OF TWO FOOTBALL CLUBS WHO ARE JUST 10 MILES APART
Two north west clubs separated by ten miles yet who inhabit different galaxies perhaps best illustrated the source of the problems in English football this week.
Prize money figures released showing that Manchester City made more than £150 million for winning last season’s Premier League coincided with Bury’s players, who haven’t been paid in three months, who released a joint statement pleading for their owner to sell the club.
Bury’s staff haven’t been paid on time all season, in fact, and the club is facing a winding-up petition for an unpaid HMRC tax bill in June.
If the smaller clubs were to fold where do the big clubs think that they will get their young talent from?

SHAME ON YOU VILLA
Just watched a video taken from inside a Derby County coach as it left Wembley following their defeat to Aston Villa.
The Derby coach is bombarded with projectiles smashing windows by a huge crowd of so called Villa supporters, not just one or two individuals but a really large group who were pushing the police out of the way to get to the rams vehicle. There appears to be nothing untowards being done by the fans on the coach who were on their way home. You can hear the women kids on the coach screaming in fear.
Is this what football has come to?
It Brings back memories of our trip to Cieza. Nothing happened to that club, I just hope the the EFL look at the Wembley incident and hit Villa hard for failure to control their fans. Shocking.

I was working all day at the museum yesterday as we had a full day operating classic buses. One we had running was a Trent Leyland PD2 from 1954. It was scheduled to return a full load of paying guests into Birmingham at about 4:15 when we noticed the side destination blind showed 'DERBY'!!! Discretion being the better part of valour, it soon got changed! Incidentally, for those interested, the reason it's at the museum is that it was the very last bus body built by Leyland.

ANDY CARROLL
Andy Carroll is just one of a number of high profile players released by their clubs in the premiership at the end of the 2018-19 season.
This guy cost Liverpool FC £35 million and was sold to West Ham FC for £15 million
Crazy or what?
Will Mazarrón FC make a bid?

Every cloud (for Gateshead FC) has a silver lining (for Aldershot Town)!
"Aldershot Town has been saved from relegation after the FA rejected Gateshead FC's appeal against expulsion from the National League.
The Shots had been left in limbo after finishing last season in the first relegation spot thanks to the league's decision to deny Gateshead a licence to play in the National League next season over financial irregularities.
The decision meant Gateshead would be relegated to the National League North while Aldershot stayed up, but the Northumberland club appealed to the FA prolonging the uncertainty for both clubs.
But at the league's AGM on Saturday (June 8) it was announced that Gateshead's appeal had failed and Aldershot would remain in the Motorama National League for the 2019/20 season." (SurreyLive Online)

JUST WHEN YOU THINK THAT IT CAN’T GET ANY WORSE, IT DOES.
Bolton Wanderers confirm they have just six senior players on their books Ken Anderson has well and truly run Bolton Wanderers into the ground.
The former chairman's disgraceful stewardship of the club saw players unpaid and a spiralling club debt of over £40million.
In May it was reported that emergency food banks had been set up to help staff who had not been given their wages for the previous months.
The Trotters will begin next season in League One with a 12-point deduction for going into administration.
After the failure of Laurence Bassini's takeover, there is no sign of things getting any easier either.
The club have released a list of players currently under contract. It includes just 14 players in total and only six of them are senior squad members. The rest are youth team prospects who have played just a handful of games.
Perhaps even more alarmingly, two of the six seniors, Ben Alnwick and Remi Matthews, are both goalkeepers.
That means Jason Lowe, Luke Murphy, Erhun Oztumer and Josh Magennis are the only outfield players available.
Due to Bolton's financial predicament, all players who were out of contract at the end of last season left.
Several others voluntarily terminated their contracts, which they were entitled to do so because of the length of time for which they had not been paid.

ARE NOTTS COUNTY ABOUT TO HIT THE BUFFERS?
It’s not looking good at Meadow Lane
The financial crisis engulfing Notts County intensified today as players and staff were not paid their wages for June.
The club’s payday was scheduled for today but it’s been revealed that from several sources that no money has been deposited into their accounts.
The wage bill is believed to be in excess of £200,000 and, at the time of going to press, staff have been left in the dark as to when they can expect to be paid.
The news will merely deepen concern about the club’s future amid huge financial problems, with the Magpies still yet to be sold to new owners despite being on the market since January.

Worrying times at Bury...
Following receipt of notice that the proposal for a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) had been approved in respect of Bury FC, the EFL Board has continued to work closely with the Club as it has done over the previous months in order to try to resolve a number of ongoing matters.
As a result of the approval of the CVA, the Club, as a consequence of the insolvency event, has, as per the EFL Regulations, been deducted 12 points, which (absent of a successful appeal from the Club) will be applied and take effect at the beginning of Season 2019/20.

"Bury's opening League One game, at home to Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday, has been suspended - but Bolton Wanderers' match at Wycombe can go ahead.
The Shakers failed to meet Monday's 17:00 BST deadline set by the English Football League for Bury and Bolton to show evidence of financial viability.
However, the EFL said it had suspended the Bury game "reluctantly".
Bolton's submissions satisfied the EFL that they can meet the requirements of the league, with a takeover expected." (BBC Sport)
Where to now?
