NEXT AWAY GAME
TERCERA DIVISION GRUPO XIII - game 19
Scheduled for Sunday 16/12/2018
To be played at the ESTADIO MUNICIPAL CIUDAD JARDIN
F. C. CARTAGENA SAD "B" v MAZARRON F.C.
Following last Sunday’s deadlock between Mazarrón FC and Aguilas FC in Mazarrón the boys are back on their travels and this time it’s to FC Cartagena ‘B’.
Looking back on Sunday’s game Mazarrón deserved the point that they earned in this hard fought and at times tasty local derby and perhaps feel that they let two points slip through their fingers especially during the dying moments of the game when ex Mazarrón goalie Pablo pulled off two great saves and a defender cleared off the line to deny Mazarrón FC a win. With other teams around Mazarrón winning or drawing perhaps we could have done with the extra two point when you take into consideration that the federation has now said FIVE teams from the division will be relegated at the end of the season. I feel that we will be looking over our shoulders for the remainder of this season and must ensure that our hard won place in the Tercera Division is not lost.
Meanwhile last weekend FC Cartagena ‘B’ were away at Ciudad de Murcia, a team who have picked up in the last few weeks and it was the home side from Murcia who took all three points with a 2-1 win.
FC CARTAGENA ‘B’
FC Cartagena ‘B’ played in the Tercera last season and finished a creditable 8th although this season appears to be a bit more of a struggle for them as they sit in 18th place in the league occupying that dreaded 5th from bottom relegation place.
Our opponents play at the Estadio municipal Ciudad Jardin a sporting facility which I have never visited. Can I just add they DO NOT play on the pitches near to the Mediterraneo shopping complex but their home ground is situated in central downtown Cartagena. For me to try and give directions here would fill the posting so I will give you the grounds coordinates so that you can look it up for yourself on google or Apple maps or enter it straight into you sat nav, those coordinates are 37° 37' 06" N, 00° 59' 34" W. The ground is 47KM, 35 minutes away from Camposol.
Details of the Los Amigos away supporters coach will be posted here and on their Facebook page when they are available.
The ground is a stand alone football facility which has an artificial pitch, covered seating down one side and appears to have the usual canteen and toilet facility but as I said I have never been to this ground so I am relying on satellite photography.
FC Cartagena ‘B’ play in a black and white striped shirt and black shorts as per a Newcastle United so expect Mazarrón to be in their usual red strip.
CURRENT STATS
8th MAZARRÓN FC P 18 W 8 D 5 L 5 GF 21 GA 15 Points 29
18th FC CARTAGENA ‘B’ P 18 W 4 D 4 L 9 GF 17 GA 22 Points 16
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Mazarrón picked up another three bookings last weekend and having watched each incident I feel that ever card awarded was very harsh especially the one Diego was given for simulation in the penalty area when he was clearly fouled and he should have been awarded a penalty. Maybe Mazarróns reputation is influencing the officials as no Aguilas player was penalised for more blatant attempts at fooling the ref and also committing some tasty tackles.
Details of any suspensions or other sanctions will be posted when they are released.
