Our next game is another home fixture and the first game of the second half of the season. The game is the return fixture from the first game of this years campaign and here are the details.
MAZARRON FC v EMF FUENTE ALAMO
kickoff 4.30pm Sunday 2nd February 2014
Lets look back at what happened on that opening day of the season.
EMF FUENTE ALAMO 1 MAZARRON FC 2
Mazarron’s season got off to a great start with a 2-1 away victory at local rivals EMF Fuente Alamo. On a hard, sandy/dirt pitch, it was never going to be an attractive game to watch but Mazarron produced a hard-working performance and deserved to take the three points home with them.
Fuente Alamo had shown hardly any inclinations to attacking Mazarron but were awarded a penalty following an alleged handball in the Mazarron box. 1-0 and it stayed like that until half time.
Alfonso playing a more advanced role than we were use to last season made all the difference allowing Mazarrons forwards to push on and it was from a near post header that Jose Ruben brought the scores level. 1-1
On 62nd minutes Mazarron took the lead from another handball incident and Alfonso's penalty made it 2-1
Mazarron had many chances to increase their lead but in the end settled for a 2-1 win
Team that day was: Ruben, Alfonso, Dani, Juan Andreu, Alcaraz, Tico (Chema), Moha, Juanillo (Victor), Pescao, Jose Ruben, Cecilio (Adrian).
With Tico winning the Man of the Match bottle.
Since that game Fuente Alamo's season has been one of struggling to avoid the drop. The current stats of both teams are:
11th Mazarron FC P 17 W 8 D 1 L 8 GF 35 GA 26 Points 25
15th EMF Fuente Alamo P 17 W 4 D 4 L 9 GF 17 GA 25 Points 16
Last weekend Fuente were away at lowly CD Esparragal where they beaten 2-0
Sanctions and any team news will appear here on the forum as we get it.
This will be a good opportunity for the first chance of a "double" against a team we should beat and move us up the table towards promotion, but we need to be careful as they have two strikers who know where the net is. They are:
Carlos Manuel Moreno LORENTE with 6 goals and Juan Diego GARCIA with 5 and he scored their goal against us in the first encounter between the two sides.
