NEXT AWAY GAME
TERCERA DIVISION GRUPO XIII - game 15
Scheduled for Sunday 25/11/2018
To be played at the ESTADIO SANCHEZ LUENGO
C.D. ALGAR v MAZARRON F.C.
This is the final away game in a run of four matches away from Mazarrón for the boys in red in this their initial season back in the Tercera Division. And it’s a good way to finish off this run of away games with a trip to relegation candidates CD Algar.
LAST WEEKEND
For the third consecutive weekend Mazarrón FC were on their travels and this time it was CAP Ciudad de Murcia who were their opponents. The boys in red were expecting a positive result from the game but Mazarrón fell into their old ways of losing to a side positioned well below them when they find beating opponents at the top of the table less arduous? Mazarrón lost 1-0 although the goal that they conceded was a brilliant strike from outside the box giving Peña in goal no chance whatsoever.
Mazarrón had lots of possession but could not convert it into goals. New boy Habibe had a good run out and there could be a lot more to come from the lad. This loss sees Mazarrón drop to 4th place in the table,
Meanwhile CD Algar made the long trip to Yeclano to face promotion chasing and top of the table Yeclano Deportivo so it was top verses bottom and the result was not really in doubt once Algar were reduced to 10 men in the 35 minute but they fought well in their 2-1 defeat. Algar could only muster 3 substitutes for the game and the leagues bottom side slipped further behind other teams in the relegation zone.
CD ALGAR
CD Algar were promoted, alongside Mazarrón FC, last season finishing in 3rd place in the Preferente Autonomica last season. Dramatically beaten by Mazarrón FC at the death in the second leg of the playoff final Algar was given a place in the Tercera by default but have failed to capitalise on their good fortune.
This season to say that they have struggled is an understatement, losing most games and conceding a bucketful of goal, they have got to do something soon to turn their season around or it will end with a quick return to whence they came, the Preferente Autonomica.
CD Algar play at the Sanchez Luengo stadium which is situated to the east of Cartagena and near to the historic town of La Union with its famous highly ornate town hall. Direction to the ground are to join the dual carriageway Camposol travel north and join the MU 602 travel towards Fuente Álamo, follow this road until it reaches the A30 then turn south towards Cartagena. On reaching the AP7 follow the signed for the Mar Menor traveling east. As you pass Cartagena on your right follow the signs RM13 to La Union. After 5 KM take the N332 to Algar. This road takes you straight to the ground which you will find on your left on the north edge of the village. 37° 39' 14" N, 00° 52' 07" W are the coordinates for the ground for those with sat navigation.
The ground is 61 KM away from Camposol and should take about 40 minutes to get there.
Details of the Los Amigos supporters coach will be posted on the forum and on the Los Amigos Facebook site when they are available.
The ground boasts an artificial surface, metal stands and decent toilets and canteen facilities.
CD Algar play in red and white striped shirts, as per Southampton Town so expect our boys to be in their alternative white strip.
