NEXT AWAY GAME
TERCERA DIVISION GRUPO XIII - game 14
Scheduled for Sunday 18/11/2018
To be played at the CAMPO MPAL. JOSE BARNES
CAP CIUDAD DE MURCIA v MAZARRON F.C.
So Mazarrón FC take on their third ‘road trip’ of four consecutive games away from Mazarrón, if you include the enforced game at Lorca last weekend due to our home pitch being closed by the Federation, when we visit CAP Ciudad de Murcia. But first let’s look at that performance last weekend at Lorca.
Despite having to play on a neutral ground against an opponent who was sitting just behind us in the league the loyal Mazarrón supporters turned up in numbers to get behind the boys in red and they weren’t disappointed.
Following a quiet first half Mazarrón turned on a performance in the second period and a double from Basi ensued that the three points were Mazarrón bound. It was a really good all round performance considering that we had players that were suspended and injured, the manager was sat in the stands and it was held away from our beloved home stadium. Those three points pushed Mazarrón up to third place in the league and into the playoff positions, not bad for our first year back in the Tercera Division.
Meanwhile CAP Ciudad de Murcia were away at rock bottom of the table CD Algar and despite taking an early lead in the second half they couldn’t hold on and the game finished all square at 1-1
CAP CIUDAD DE MURCIA
CAP Ciudad de Murcia came up from the Preferente Autonomica last season as champions looking to become a bit of a force with regarding football in the city of Murcia this time round but unfortunately that’s not, as of yet, worked out. They are struggling at the wrong end of the table having only won three games so far and are on equal points with the team in the last relegation place. Last season they did the ‘double’ over Mazarrón beating us 1-3 at home and 1-0 at their place on the final day of the season, I have a feeling that this time round it could be a different story.
Up until now, the 13th game of the season, CAP Ciudad de Murcia have won just 3 games and are shipping goals by the bucket full. Let’s hope that we can add to their misery next weekend.
Our opponents next week play in the Jose Barnes stadium in Murcia City. The ground, where we have visited on numerous occasions in the past, it is part of a modern sports complex with excellent facilities, tiered seating down one side, with an artificial playing surface. There is copious amounts of parking next to the ground, it has an excellent canteen and toilet facilities. Details of the Los Amigos away supporters coach will be made available on their Facebook page and on the Mazarrón FC forum when available.
For independent travellers the coordinates of the ground are 37° 59' 40" N, 01° 08' 08" W the route to the stadium is to take the dual carriageway from Camposol to the A7 at Totana, as you reach the city of Murcia take the A30 south towards Cartagena. Turn off at junction 140 the N340. At the first roundabout take the second right staying on the N340 until the next roundabout. Take the fourth turn off onto the Calle Mar Menor. The ground is so 200 meters on the right.
The distance to the ground is 55km but due to the excellent roads it should only take 40 minutes.
CAP Ciudad de Murcia play in red shirts and black shorts so expect our boys to be in their changed strip of all white.
CURRENT STATS
3rd Mazarrón FC P 13 W 7 D 3 L 3 GF 17 GA 10 Points 24
19th CAP Ciudad de Murcia P 13 W 3 D 2 L 8 GF 14 GA 21 Points 11
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Mazarrón FC picked up another three yellow cards last weekend, good for us I suppose, whilst CAP Ciudad de Murcia's goal keeper saw double yellow = red the second after the late equaliser was conceded against CD Algar on Sunday, obviously not a happy bunny, so we will be facing their second string ‘keeper’
All details of any other suspensions and sanctions will be posted on the Mazarrón forum when made available by the Federation on Thursday night.
