Here are the results for the first half of the season. Mazarrón were clearly not the worst (C.D. Algar) but certainly worse than average! Average....................................73..........................7

ANDREO’S YELLOW CARDS
A couple of us at the game on Sunday against Churra were discussing the reasons behind Andreo receiving so many yellow cards, 16 so far this season, and so we watched carefully as he played.
This young man, who I have been watching since his time in our cadete side, is a none stop box to box player. If he isn’t defending he is in the middle field looking to create an opportunity for our strikers. He always makes himself available in the opponents half and delivers crunching but fair tackles throughout the pitch.
It’s his work rate and his determination to do the best that he can for Mazarrón FC which puts him into situations that the opposition will try their hardest to get him booked and off the pitch. Sunday was no exception with the Churra number 10 trying and succeeding to persuade the ref to book our boy for a ‘non foul’ after swallow diving.
Andreo is a threat to any opposition as shown in Sunday’s performance which won him the man of the match bottle.
Long may he continue to wear the red of Mazarrón FC and the odd suspension is just a by product of one of the best players to play for us.

IS IT THE SAME IN SPAIN?
In the UK the five yellow card count is “reset” on 31st December. It means a player receiving their fifth yellow card of the season on January 1 or later will not receive a ban.

Here are the stats as the season draws to a close: Algar still take the prize, and Mazarron are only mid table for tarjetas rojas per game. But after Algar, we have the worst record for yellows per game!

Do we get a hand delivered letter of thanks from the Murcian Federation thanking us for our contributions? Algar must get their letter flown in by helicopter. On a serious note how much does the club get fined for every yellow or red card?

Do we get a hand delivered letter of thanks from the Murcian Federation thanking us for our contributions? Algar must get their letter flown in by helicopter. On a serious note how much does the club get fined for every yellow or red card? I think this is the most recent pronouncement on the subject. You'll get the drift! "In the category Third Division, the sanction of reprimand of directors, players, coaches and auxiliaries, will take with them, for the club in question, fine in the amount of 15 euros and the suspension penalty will be fined by the amount of 22.50 euros, for each match or month that covers." I assume the suspension fine is in addition to the fine for the cards (red or yellow) - the fine being to pay for the admin. of processing the suspension. So, here goes....... 158+12 'reprimands' = about 2500€. I guess, 12 accumulated yellow suspensions plus the 12 reds = 540€ Plus additional games/months suspensions - say another 12 = 270€ Total cost to the club (at least) 3310€.

Crikey..... I wasn't expecting that sort of Figure. Sad to think that my raffle money probably goes to pay fines.
