NEXT AWAY GAME
TERCERA DIVISION GRUPO XIII - game 10
. 4.30pm (16.30) Saturday 27 October
. To be played at the ESTADIO "ARTÉS CARRASCO", LORCA
LORCA FC, SAD v MAZARRON F.C.
Nine games into the new season with Mazarróns first season at this level for a number of years and it’s not looking to bad is it?
Mazarrón FC sit in 3rd place just two points off the top spot. Early days I know but with hindsight you couldn’t wish for much better. Everything in the garden isn’t smelling of roses but all in all it has been a cracking start to the season.
LAST WEEKEND
Despite the appalling antics of Cieza the week before which lead to certain areas of our home ground being closed off to supporters our boys in red certainly didn’t let the large crowd down with a dominant first half performance leading to a 1-0 half time lead. And although La Union came to the fore in the second half they were easily held at bay by the home side securing Mazarrón FC three valuable points.
Meanwhile Lorca FC were at CAP Ciudad de Murcia returning to Lorca with all three points in a 0-3 away win despite going down to 10 men. So we will be facing a dangerous adversary next weekend who sit two places but just one point behind Mazarrón.
LORCA FC SAD
Where do our opponents play their home games and what is their history? This is a bit complicated but here’s what Les has found out:-
“Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin!
I can see where the Federation has got the Los Tollos home ground reference from.
Lorca FC were in last season's Segunda and then went belly up - eventually being relegated to this season's Tercera.
But they also had a 'B' team that played in last season's Tercera!
That 'B' team was a legacy from the old La Hoya Lorca club that had formed the basis for Lorca FC some years ago. La Hoya Lorca originally played their games at 'Los Tollos' in La Hoya.
When Lorca Athletic went belly up in 2012, La Hoya Lorca moved into the Artes Carrasco. So the Fed. is only about 6 years out of date!
HOWEVER................................
Although the Artes Carrasco is their official home now, AND they played their recent Copa del Rey game there, AND it is shown as the venue for our game on the Federation fixture list for next weekend they played their last home game 10 days ago at the Mundial '82 ground round the corner from the Artes Carrasco!
Watch this space”
All clear then?
Lorca play in an all blue strip so our boys should be in their regular red outfit.
CURRENT STATS
3rd Mazarrón FC P 9 W 5 D 2 L 2 GF 13 GA 7 Points 17 5th Lorca FC SAD P 9 W 4 D 4 L 1 GF 12 GA 6 Points 16
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Mazarrón FC are getting more cards than Santa at Christmas at the moment so I’ll wait until Thursday and the release of the data from the federation before confirming who we will have missing next weekend.
Lorca will be without the ever present David Soto Sanchez who picked up a straight red last Sunday. He is a defender with no goals to his name. Their manager will have a deckchair in the stands as he also saw red, he will be able to keep Pedro company🤣

LORCA STADIUM
Hola
Now we have found out where we are playing on Saturday here’s some details about the stadium.
The Francisco Artes Carrasco stadium was constructed with the view that La Liga matches would be played in Lorca, it nearly happened once but it was not to be.
The crowd will be lost in this modern huge ground but at least you won’t have a problem finding a seat.
To get there is very easy just leave Camposol and travel on the dual carriageway towards Totana where you join the A7.
Go south towards Lorca and after you have gone through the tunnel under the castle take the second turnoff which is signed for the ground and the local Dr Rafael Méndez hospital. That road will take you straight to the ground which you can see from the A7 to your left.
Huge car park, covered seating, good facilities, natural grass playing surface and one of if not the best stadium that we will visit this season.
Allow 45 minutes to arrive in plenty of time.

AWAY SUPPORTERS COACH DETAILS
The away supporters coach run by Los Amigos will leave the car park opposite the Consum supermarket at 3.15pm (15.15) on Saturday getting you there in plenty of time for the 4.30pm (16.30) kickoff
The last time that I was at the stadium there was a smashing small bar/restaurant just outside of the stadium, well worth a visit.

The last time that I was at the stadium there was a smashing small bar/restaurant just outside of the stadium, well worth a visit. I hope you're not thinking of the bar with the kids play area outside? That's by the Mundial 82 ground. From my memory, the Artes Carrasco is in the middle of a field. The only thing nearby is the Tanatorio!!!

Nope, definitely the main stadium.
It was before the game that the all the Lorca players fell to their knees at kickoff because they hadn’t been paid.
I’ll tell you how long ago it was, Atletico Madrid were playing a televised game being shown in the bar and David De Gea was in goal and played a blinder. I can remember saying to someone that this young lad would do well.
It’s just off the final traffic roundabout before you turn into the grounds huge car park.
It was a long time ago but it was full of Lorca paraphernalia possibly a drinking hole for local fans prior to the game.

'Por cada abono y entrada podrán pasar dos personas.' May be limited to Lorca season ticket holders - maybe everyone! Someone want to check with MFC staff?

Amazingly, despite our lads clocking up SEVEN yellows, none of them seems to have triggered a suspension this week!
Pedro's red is said to be for 'provocation' in the fracas. Naughty!
Lorca's 2 reds have been confirmed. The manager getting a double ban.

Is this the complex where we played a pre season friendly in August this year?

Is this the complex where we played a pre season friendly in August this year? No, that was the Mundial 82 ground Nick. The Artes Carrasco is nearby - before you arrive at the Mundial 82 ground. When you come off the motorway follow sign for Hospital Mendez. You can't then miss the stadium 500m on the right. Don't ask me where the entry gate is though!

According to Radio COPE Lorca...
"Sñr. Garcia Acosta will be in charge of arbitrating the match between @lorcafcsad y @mazarronfc. The Murcia official has directed two matches, showing 16 yellow and 3 red. In both parties, the result was a draw, Garres 1-Students 1 and C. Murcia 2-Garres 2"
Make of that what you will!
