NEXT HOME GAME
MAZARRON FC v A.D. SOHO-MEDITERRANEO
Kickoff 4.30pm Sunday 26th January 2014
After a great start to the season where Soho-Med won 6 of the first 8 game they have since nose dived down the league having only once since. But last weekend they were at home to CD ESPARRAGAL and won 3-0
Last season they played in our league and were unfortunate not to be promoted having finished 5th.
The first game was at their old soil pitch when we took the lead through a lovely lob of the keeper by Alfonso but later in the first half Matt Clarke, who has previously been booked, brought down an attacker in the penalty area resulting in a converted penalty and a red card for Matt so Mazarron FC had to play the rest of the game with 10 men.
The second half performance by the 10 players of Mazarron FC deserved at least a point if not more, but football is a cruel game and in the gale force conditions a speculative cross was caught in the wind and the winning goal was scored by Soho- Med.
Final score 2-1
In the return game in Mazarron again Soho-Med came out winners after taking a 0-2 lead Mazarron FC pulled it back to 2-2 at half time. Soho-Med took the lead early in the second half and despite dominating the rest of the game the visitors hung on for the 3 points.
Final score 2-3
So there is revenge in the air for this game. It is possible that a number of ex Mazarron FC players will be on display for this game wearing the colours of Soho-Med including our excellent ex goal keeper Jose Iker, who we wish all the best to, after the game.
And remember that Tolo, our new striker, was captured from Soho-Med last week and he was their top scorer.
