WHAT’S HAPPENING?
This is from tercera.com
Mazarrón players took about 10 minutes on the pitch to start the second half, and the Olympic did not leave. Right now the Mazarrón players retreat back to locker rooms. Let's see if anyone can tell us what happening

FINAL SCORE
Mazarrón FC 1 v Totana 3
So it’s the lottery of the playoffs then. But at the start of the season if you were offered a certain playoff place would you have taken it? I know I would.
We now wait to see the ramifications from the half time action in the officials dressing room.

It took the referee over 1 hour to post his report on the Federation website.
And we can now see why Mazarrón struggled!
Mazarrón's cards: Yellow 1 - NEKROUF , BOUDIA (5') Yellow 2 - NEKROUF , BOUDIA (20') Straight red - NICOLAS NICOLAS IGNACIO (20') Straight red - ANDREO MULA, JUAN (20') Straight red - MOYA VILLANUEVA JUAN LUIS (20') Yellow - DAVILA HERNANDEZ, JOSE DAVID (50') Yellow - TORRANO GOMARIZ, RAUL (55') Yellow - MULA SERRANO JUAN PEDRO (84')
So Mazarrón played with NINE men and no trainers from the 20th minute!
I can't wait to find out why! And no explanation for the delay to the start of the second half.

Alison Golding's match report..........
MAZARRON FC 1 – CLUB OLIMPICO DE TOTANA 3
Match Report courtesy of Alison Golding
We arrived at today's match for our last home game of the main season. Not only was it a “local derby” but it was the match which could decide the last automatic promotion position. A win for Totana today would guarantee their place, where Mazarron still had to win this week and next.
Mazarron got the game underway in front of a large and excitable crowd. They broke forward but the ball was cleared out of play. From the throw in Totana took control and played the ball right up the line, breaking at pace, with their striker in the perfect position, the ball was crossed into the box and goal. The best start for Totana. The worst start for Mazarron in just one minute.
Seeing the passion this game was inspiring it was not surprising that the first yellow card for Mazarron was issued after only five minutes. A Mazarron free kick was struck into the box and we could all see that the contact was not restricted to the ball, the Totana goalkeeper coming off worse and the game being stopped for several minutes while the trainer attended.
Mazarron kept pushing but Totana's defence were holding firm. They missed a real chance as a corner shot came into the box but Boudia (no 6) headed it just too high and it bounced on the top of the net.
We always knew this would be a hard fought game but the referee was not showing Mazarron any favours when just 20 minutes in Boudia (no 6) was shown a second yellow and removed from the pitch. Unable to keep quiet about this injustice Mazarron showed their discontent, the worse thing they could do, as this resulted in a straight red for Nacho (no 5) and two reds for the Manager and coach who had to retire to the stand.
The Totana player who had been injured returned to the pitch wearing a very fetching head bandage giving him a perfect Mohican hair style! Now with just nine men and a goal down Mazarron had a hard 70 minutes in front of them, but we have seen this before and Mazarron dug in deep, coming forward time and time again and much of the play being in the Totana half.
Unable to find a crucial way through the first half ended 0 – 1.
We retook our seats for the start of the second half and waited, and waited, and waited.Mazarron returned to the pitch, kicked a few balls around between themselves and then were called back of the pitch and we waited, and waited, and waited!!
For some reason the Totana team and the officials had refused to return until the local Guardia were present. I never realised that a group of British Ex-pat pensioners were so intimidating!! Finally some 30 minutes later with two guards on the touchline the two teams and the officials returned to a roar of boos and play restarted.
Mazarron had made three substitutions in this time in a hope to keep the team fresh with the extra work from each and every player covering the missing men. Mazarron could not have tried any harder but after only seven minutes, with the defence stretched, Totana found a way through and found the back of the net for a second time.
Still fighting for the three points the play became unsporting from both sides. Mazarron were not giving up, if only they had played with such passion and conviction in earlier games throughout the season we would not have been in this position today.
Now 73 minutes into the game Mazarron were awarded a free kick just outside the box Totana formed a 5 man wall and Jose Da (no 17) stepped up to take the shot, and what a shot, straight over the wall and into the net, GOAL for Mazarron.
Now back to just a one goal deficit there was still a chance for Mazarron to get a point from the game. But it was not to be and tired legs were beginning to show, and hopes were finally dashed on 88 minutes as Totana found the net for the third time. Despite several stoppages throughout the game, Mazarron had no time for a final push as the whistle was blown spot on 90 minutes.
The game ended 1 – 3.
There are so many things I could say about today's referee but most of them would be unprintable and all of you who were at the game will know what I mean and those of you who were not, I’m sure will understand.
Mazarron made four substitutions. Totana made five substitutions. Mazarron received five yellow cards, including two for Boudia (no 6) equalling a red card, and also three other red cards, one for Nacho (no 5) and two for our manager and coach who were sent to the stands. Totana received five yellow cards.
Man of the match voted for by Los Amigos de Mazarron FC was THE WHOLE TEAM for the spirit and determination shown throughout the whole match.

Sounds eventful . I will be waiting until Thursday to see how many paint brushes I need to buy. Sadly the events of Sunday may call for a more level headed management team and a stronger club disciplinary policy as we can't be losing important players at the business end of the season and when you look back through the season at how many games were missed through suspensions it is ridiculous. I haven't been watching this level of football long but the standard of officials leaves alot to be desired but equally so does the standards of players and pitches. So they are not alone. Maybe a consideration every time they venture on to the pitch. Sadly in my limited football playing career a s##t ref is better than no ref.

I think if you had been to the game or watched it on the live internet feed you would have seen things differently
Incidentally Mazarron has the fourth best disciplinary record in the league. We will be without Boudia, Nacho and Jose Da (accumulation of yellow cards) on Sunday perhaps better than not having them available for the play-offs.

Unsurprisingly, we had no representative in the TOTW. Totana had two selected, Champi and Vera.
