NEXT AWAY GAME
PREFERENTE AUTONOMICA UNICO - game 28 (7 games to go)
4pm (16.00) Sunday 25/03/2018
To be played at the SANCHEZ CANOVAS stadium
C.F. MOLINA v MAZARRON F.C.
Following last weekends fine win against Alcantarilla, Mazarrón move up to 5th in the league and next weekend are back on their travels with a trip to CF Molina. Whilst Mazarrón were giving Alcantarilla a 3-0 drumming Molina traveled to Bullense and were beaten 2-1 despite taking the lead in the second minute. This result dented Molina’s chances of getting into the playoffs as they now sit 5 points adrift of Plus Ultra who occupy the 6th and final playoff place in the league. It’s mighty tight at the top of the table with just one point covering CD Algar in the second and automatic promotion place and our boys in 5th.
OUR OPPONENTS
CF Molina are a side that performs at a consistent level in our league finishing 6th last season although, like Mazarrón, not able to gain promotion via the playoffs. Lack of goals this time out have somewhat dented their progress this season scoring just 39 all season but they have a tight defence which accounts for their high position in the table. So expect a tight low scoring game in Murcia but having said that just look at what happened when we last met in November in Mazarrón.
MAZARRÓN FC 4 - CF MOLINA 2 (12.11.2017)
MAZARRÓN FC move up into second place in the league after a 4-2 home victory over CF Molina.
Juvenile player Jaime, making his first start for MAZARRÓN, gave them the lead on 13 minutes with a firm strike from the edge of the penalty area. MAZARRÓN had a number of chances to increase their lead in the first half but were pegged back after 42 minutes with a controversial goal. Pablo made a superb save turning the ball onto the cross bar and although the defence completed the clearance the linesman, who was not up with play, flagged to say that the ball had crossed the line.
Pablo and captain Juan Andreo led the vociferous MAZARRÓN protests but only received yellow cards for their troubles.
To make matters worse Molina took the lead two minutes into the second half when a cross from the right was backheeled into the net. MAZARRÓN were stunned but soon rallied and their misfortune seemed to inspire them as they put the Molina defence under constant pressure. Boudia's powerful header seemed to have crossed the line but the linesman who had given Molina their goal before half time kept his flag down on this occasion.
MAZARRÓN's hard work paid off after 57 minutes when, following a corner, Jaime found centre half Nacho who blasted the ball home from 10 yards. Then on 71 minutes excellent work by Dani Morales on the right saw him cross to Basi and the league's leading scorer made no mistake. Three minutes later Basi scored his fourteenth of the season and MAZARRÓN's fourth of the game after an excellent through ball from Javi Torrano.
HOW TO GET THERE AND STADIUM INFORMATION.
As usual the Los Amigos supporters club will be laying on an away coach to this fixture and details of that coach will be published on the Los Amigos Facebook site and the Mazarron forum at www.mazarronfc.es when they become available. For those making their own way there here are some details about getting there and about the stadium.
CF Molina play in Molina de Segura which is situated just to the North West of Murcia city and acts as a dormitory suburb of the city. The ground is well outside of Molina de Segura to the west and is called the Estadio Municipal Sánchez Cánovas. It can be found on Camino de la Arboleja with co ordinates of 38° 03' 03" N, 01° 13' 31" W The ground is 53KM and about 36 minutes from Camposol. The stadium is said to be able of containing 4,500 fans, hmmmm see what you think when you get there, maybe they added an extra 0 in error. Weather forecast for the weekend is for sunshine and a few clouds with the temperature in the high teens.
Personally I cannot recall visiting this stadium as in the past as they have played at many different locations around Molina so I cannot verify the facilities at the stadium. From the Google street map the ground is in a 'L' shape with a small practice pith to one side of the main ground which has a natural surface, there is seating along one side of the pitch and the stadium appears to have the usual amenities block and canteen. This stadium is in a very, very rural situation, let's hope for light winds on the day as it is rather exposed.
CF Molina play in BLUE shirts and shorts so we should be in our usual RED shirts but with red shorts.
CURRENT STATS

SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Details of any sanctions, suspensions, injuries and other team news will be available on the Mazarrón forum and the Los Amigos Facebook site when they become available.
