NEXT AWAY GAME
PREFERENTE AUTONOMICA - game 24
Scheduled for Sunday 25/02/2018
To be played at the Municipal stadium LAS COLONIAS Abaran
ABARAN C.F. v MAZARRON F.C.
What a mouth watering fixture up next for Mazarrón F.C. a six pointer if there ever was one and a game with plenty of tradition and not much love lost between the two teams.
Whilst Mazarrón come to the game on the back of a 4-0 home win last weekend Abaran brings a 0-3 away win to the table last Sunday so two teams in form fighting for one of the two automatic promotion places at the end of the season.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEKEND?
Mazarrón were at home to Albanilla and stormed to a fine 4-0 win with our new prolific goal scorer Mauro rattling three goal to take home the match ball with Joseda adding the fourth. Mauro is now averaging 1.5 goals a game and that is a fine return in anyone’s book. Well done to the Mazarrón management in spotting this excellent striker who has filled Basi’s boots since his arrival.
Meanwhile Abaran were away at Bullense and coasted to a 0-3 win against a side who are struggling a bit in the second half of the season, but never the less a 0-3 away win is something to cherish.
WHAT HAPPENED THE LAST TIME WE PLAYED?
MAZARRÓN FC 1 - NUESTRO ABARÁN CF 1 (15.10.2017)
MAZARRÓN's unbeaten run stretched to seven games with a 1-1 draw at home to Nuestro Abaran. With CAP Ciudad de Murcia losing 2-1 at home to EF Alhama, MAZARRÓN were top of the league at the final whistle.
This was a good game between two fairly well matched teams.
MAZARRÓN took the lead in the 50th minute with a goal from Raul Torrano. Nuestro Abarán equalised in the 72nd minute with a goal by Nico.
Raul Torrano's performance and goal earned him the Man of the Match award and a place in the Preferente Autonomica Team of the Week.
Despite not scoring last week Basi (now departed) remained the joint leading scorer in the league with Miguel of CAP Ciudad de Murcia with nine goals from seven games although three of Miguel's goals have come from the penalty spot.
Unfortunately the sending off of Dani Morales for a second yellow card near the end of the game further upset MAZARRÓN's hopes of continuing their good run as It meant that Mazarrón were without three key players through suspension for the next game. It was Dani's second sending off this season and Mazarrón have had five in total in just seven games which is just not good enough and could cost us dearly at the end of the season.
