MAZARRÓN FC NEXT AWAY GAME
PREFERENTE AUTONOMICA UNICO - game 22
12.00 Sunday 11/02/2018
To be played at the CAMPO MPAL. "LOS PINOS"
A.D. ALQUERIAS v MAZARRON F.C.
Another of my favourite away games is a trip to Alquerias for a number of reasons. First it’s a lovely trip up there, the stadium, although a bit tight, is well maintained, the local ate friendly and there’s a little pasta/pizza place in the town square who does the finest steak you’ve ever had, so plenty of reasons to make the journey and cheer on the boys.
STADIUM INFORMATION AND HOW TO GET TO THE GAME
AD Alquerias play in a very neat but smallish ground situated to the North East of Murcia city the ground being called Los Pinos, and the stadium is at the edge of the village of Alquerias. The ground is 66KM and about 50 minutes away from Camposol.
The playing surface is 3D artificial and was of top notch quality the last time we visited. There is plastic seating down one side of the ground, the amenities block is modern if a bit small, so those with a weak bladder make sure that you are front of the queue, and they also have a decent canteen.
The pitch is laid out Northish to southish so the sun doesn't effect the keepers as much as it does at some grounds. The pitch is well sheltered so any strong winds like we had at Mazarron recently won’t effect the game as much. At this time the wether forecast for the game is for a sunny day with a few clouds with the temperature around the 12 centigrade mark.
AD Alquerias play in an all red strip so we will be in our away WHITE away strip.
The Los Amigos supporters club will be laying on the usual away coach, for members and non members, and for those of you independently travelling the co ordinates of the ground are 38° 00' 36" N, 01° 02' 13" W or put Camino de los Pinos de Alquerías 30580 Murcia into your sat nav and it will take you there.
LAST WEEKEND
What happened to Mazarrón last weekend? Cruising at 3-1 up against a side they should beat and then surrender two late goals to throw away two vital points. The 3-3 final score did not reflect the control they had on the game but its balls in the nets that count not possession. Thank goodness the teams pushing Mazarrón for that second automatic promotion place also had bad results.
Meanwhile Alquerias were on their travels to Bullense and despite taking the lead and then pulling it back to 2-2 they fell to a late goal to lose 3-2 a result which dented their chances of escaping relegation as they remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the table.
WHAT HAPPENED THE LAST TIME WE MET? AND WHAT A GAME.
MAZARRÓN FC 6 - AD ALQUERIAS 3 (1.10.2017)
In one of the most remarkable games seen at the Estadio Municipal in recent years, MAZARRÓN managed to overcome the obstacle of playing with nine men for 74 minutes to earn a 6-3 home win over AD Alquerias.
MAZARRÓN took the lead as early as the fourth minute when Basi raced on to a through ball and easily beat the advancing Alquerias keeper. The visitors struck back almost immediately and a fierce drive rebounded off the goal post but they equalised on 13 minutes through Alvaro.
MAZARRÓN's hopes of retaining their position at the top of the league seemed to have disappeared after 26 minutes when both Alfonso Canovas and Andreo were sent off following an incident with Alquerias's Ismail right in front of the visitors dig out. However, Basi and MAZARRÓN had other ideas and Basi completed a remarkable first half hat trick in the 35th and 38th minutes.
Spurred on by the largest crowd of the season so far, MAZARRÓN increased their lead in the 44th minute when Javi Torrano cut inside and shot firmly into the corner of the net to give the home team a 4-1 lead at the interval.
The second half started in the same incredible vein with MAZARRÓN scoring twice more in the first six minutes. Firstly Dani Morales raced clear of a static Alquerias defence before rounding the keeper and slotting the ball into an empty net. Then Basi outpaced the visiting defenders with a surging run from the halfway line before scoring his fourth and MAZARRÓN's sixth goal of the game.
Understandably the MAZARRÓN players started to tire in the closing stages and goals from Francisco Jose and a second from Alvaro in the 79th and 81st minutes reduced the arrears and MAZARRÓN keeper Dani Caro made a number of excellent saves to keep his team ahead.
It was a magnificent team performance by MAZARRÓN with every player worthy of mention. Basi, understandably, won the Man of the Match award. although all the team could have shared it.
CURRENT STATS
2nd Mazarrón FC P 21 W 12 D 4 L 5 GF 46 GA 30 Points 40 18th AD Alquerias P 21 W 3 D 8 L 10 GF 33 GA 53 Points 17
So they are shipping goals by the cartload and with games running out there will be an almighty scrap at the bottom of the table this season with teams from 12th to 18th covered by just 4 points!! What a difference from last season when Alquerias finishes a comfortable 7th in this league.
SUSPENSIONS AND SANCTIONS
Suspensions and sanctions will be posted on the Mazarrón FC forum when released on Thursday. They will also be available to view on Los Amigos Facebook site.

LOS AMIGOS AWAY SUPPORTERS COACH
The coach will leave the car park opposite the Consum supermarket in Camposol at 10.30am on Sunday, sharp.
Due to the early kickoff there will not be a stop for refreshments but don’t worry the canteen at Alquerias is excellent.🍺🍾🍷🥃🥤🍸

Good news from Saturday's game. Plus Ultra could only draw at home against lowly Jumilla. They were 2 points behind us so we stay in second place.

30 mins gone and it's still 0-0.
Half-time and 2 goals in the dying seconds!
1-1
72 mins...Dani makes it 2-1.
A great win with the first goal by Mauro.
But 6 yellows!
In the meantime, Ciudad go steaming on with a 2-0 win at Abaran. Which keeps Abaran away from us!
Ciudad....53pts Mazarron....43 Plus Ultra...39 Abaran...38 Totana...38 But Totana play Algar later and still have their postponed game in hand.
