NEXT HOME GAME
We have the second of two consecutive home games next weekend and this time it's against the old enemy CD El Esparragal
PREFERENTE AUTONOMICA UNICO - game 3
Scheduled for Sunday 17/09/2017
To be played at the ESTADIO MUNICIPAL DE MAZARRON
MAZARRON F.C. v C.D. EL ESPARRAGAL
So it's second of two home games on the bounce next and following last Sunday's game we face a very familiar foe in the shape of CD El Esparragal and if the past is anything to go by it could be a feisty affair. I don't recall ever seeing a game between these two sides when at least one player hasn't gone for an early bath, indeed a couple of seasons ago in Esparragal the reds were shown like confetti so bring your steel helmets.
LAST WEEKEND
For the encounter against Jumilla, Mazarrón gave a good account of themselves although it was a bit of a concern to see such a 'lightweight' bench with it being made up mainly of our juvenile side who had played and lost the previous day, where were all the rest of the squad?
I though Mazarrón had done more than enough to have won the game with numerous chances being spurred but we were rescued by an excellent save at the death by Dani Caro in the goal. A case of two points dropped rather than one gained. Those extra two points could have put us top of the table.
Meanwhile El Esparragal gained their first point of the new season when they fought out a 0-0 draw against Bullense who incidentally Mazarrón had beat the previous weekend 1-2 away and with only 10 men, the El Esparragal side saw 5 yellow cards awarded against them with two going to one player, more of that later, and El Esparragal having to play the last 30 minutes with just 10 men.
CURRENT STATS
5th MAZARRÓN FC P 2 W 1 D 1 L 0 GF 2 GA 0 Points 3
17th CD EL ESPARRAGAL P 2 W 0 D 1 L 1 GF 1 GA 2 Points 1
SANCTIONS AND SUSPENSIONS
Mazarrón will be at full strength with Dani Morales returning from his one game suspension for his red card at Bullense.
CD El Esparragal will be without defender David Viciedo Perez who was the recipient of the double yellow card against Bullense.
Actual match details will be posted on the forum and Los Amigos Facebook site when available.
