...no, not brown envelopes!
Their fees for officiating have previously been paid by the home team.
But it seems the national Federation is now going to fund them from the TV monies.
A real benefit to lower league clubs.

GREAT NEWS
But does it effect teams at our level?
Paying over €300 per game for officials plus expenses is one of the biggest drains on lower league clubs.
At times Mazarrón struggled to pay both the officials and the players so if they are paid by TV money it will be a massive bonus for smaller clubs.
The next thing to look at is officials taking a proportion of fines levied for yellow/red cards. What an incentive for refs to start flashing cards knowing that it is a nice little earner? Same goes for the police over here taking a proportion of speeding tickets, shameful.

GREAT NEWS But does it effect teams at our level? I'm having my doubts. It may only go down to the Tercera divisions which are regulated by the RFEF. If that's the case, it will be a kick in the shins to Preferente and Primera teams.

I wish my Spanish was better! This is money from the Copa del Rey TV rights. It looks like it's being divied up on the basis of teams down to Tercera level. I think the money will then get to the regional federations. Seems like the rumour is that Murcia will use it to pay the officials. Whether they do it beyond Tercera level .................. ?
