Who is Brentford Les? Are Brentford Les and Solihull Moors Les one and the same? Is it a bit like Notts Forest Steve and Golden State Warrior Steve? Come on we are not Spanish one team only. As we travel the many roads of life, over time our hearts and minds tend to alight on differing interests. Brought up selling programmes at Griffin Park and now just down the road from Damson Park. I have been thinking of switching again - Norwich City is an option as various members of the family tree were sprinkled throughout The Broads.

THE F.A. PLOUGH INTO TRACTOR COUNTIES AFTER DERBY CLASHES
Ipswich and Norwich have both been fined by the Football Association following their recent derby clash, with Town boss Paul Lambert receiving a touchline ban.
The charges relate to the Sky Bet Championship match at Carrow Road on February 10, which saw Lambert sent to the stands following an incident in the technical areas involving staff from both clubs.
Lambert, a former Norwich manager, has been fined £3,000 and given a two-match touchline ban while Ipswich have been fined £20,000 and Norwich £25,000 after players were involved in a melee during the same incident.
The FA said in a statement: “Norwich have been fined £25,000 and Ipswich have been fined £20,000 after accepting a charge for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during both the 45th and 90th minutes, as well as their officials in the 45th minute, of their Championship fixture on February 10 2019.
“Your getting yourselves a bad name lads, do what you both do best, get behind a horse and plough” 🤣

WHERE NOTTINGHAM LEADS THE WORLD FOLLOWS
WHY DO JUVENTUS WEAR BLACK AND WHITE STRIPED SHIRTS?
Take your mind back to 1903 if you will, when footballers still wore long johns, and couldn’t afford a Tesco meal deal with their weekly wages.
Juventus had grown tired of their pink shirts fading, so they reached out to English team member John Savage, who in turn got in touch with a friend back home in Nottingham.
Savage’s friend, an avid Notts County fan, sent a set of black and white stripes over Turin, and the legend was born.
WHY DO ARSENAL WEAR RED SHIRTS?
Would you believe that the reason Arsenal still wear red and white kits today was originally because of lack of funds?
Back in 1886, Arsenal wasn’t a professional football club and was actually known as Dial Square FC, which is where they were based. This meant that not only did they not yet have a proper strip, we also didn’t have a great deal of money.
When three Nottingham Forest players (Fred Beardsley, Bill Parr and Charlie Bates) signed for club, Dial Square FC decided to use their old kits instead, which were dark red with white socks and long sleeves.
This continued to be Arsenal’s kit when they began playing at Highbury in 1913/14.
Although another theory is that Dial Square FC wrote to Nottingham Forest and asked for help with them kitting us out, and of course Nottingham Forest always likes to help these ‘little’ clubs out

I THOUGH NOTTINGHAM FOREST WOULD HAVE A HAND IN THIS SUCCESS
Non league surprise package Solihull Moors are on course to upset the odds at the top of the National League under former Nottingham Forest goalkeeping coach Tim Flowers.
The ex-England international was drafted in last season, along with former Birmingham City man Mark Yates, tasked with the job of saving Moors from the drop.
Fast-forward eighteen months and, now without sidekick Yates, Flowers has Solihull sitting level on points with table-toppers Leyton Orient and in the race to achieve what would be for them Football League status for the first time in their history.
Flowers and Yates were somewhat of a double-act at Damson Park when he they took over in November 2017. Flowers, a Premier League winner, described their 'impossible' triumph to save the side from relegation as his "biggest achievement in football", but it was frontman Yates who took the plaudits, earning him a move to League Two's Macclesfield Town.
But Flowers wanted to stay and build on their success.

I didn't know if to post this here or in the World Football section!!!
"Solihull Moors have been invited to compete in the Scottish Challenge Cup next season, as a result of finishing second in the National League in 2018-19.
Last season, Boreham Wood and Sutton United became the first two English league clubs to play in the competition, which has been running since 1990 and has also contained teams from Wales and Ireland since 2016.
As the highest ranked two teams still competing in England’s fifth tier, along with Wrexham, who finished fourth, Tim Flowers’ (pictured) Moors will enter the 2019-20 competition on the weekend of 7/8 September." (BBC Sport)
