I know that this is a bit early but I hope it will help you plan your Christmas footie experience.
Our final away game and the final game for 2013 is against AD Moratalla. The game is scheduled for Sunday 22nd December "El Gordo" day, but we await confirmation of timings and date of the kickoff.
Their current stats at 8/12/13 are
Played 12 won 3 drawn 2 lost 7 goals for 16 goals against 27 points 11 they are currently 14 out of 18 in our league.
Last time out they played at home against Lumbreras where the final score was 0-1 to Lumbreras.
Moratalla play in the "Casa Felipe" stadium who's map co ordinates are 38° 11' 23" N, 01° 52' 21" W The ground has a capacity of 3000 people and is situated a couple of miles outside of the town. It is reported to have an artificial surface but the last time that I was there, 2008/09 season when they beat us home and away but we finish 6th that year, I'm sure it was grass, but I will update Les after the game.
Moratalla is the furthest that we travel this season with the stadium some 116km and 75 minutes from Camposol but getting there is straight forward and the roads are good.
Their playing kit is white shirts, blue shorts and white socks, so I would imagine that we will be in our home colours of RED
Last season they finished in 17th place in the Preferente Autonomica and were relegated and they are having a difficult first eason in our division.
Like Mazarron FC, Moratalla have seen the highs and lows of Spanish football.
Their history is Moratalla Club de Fútbol was founded in 1979. The team played at lower levels for ten years before gaining promotion to the Tercera division winning promotion to division 2B at the end of the 2008-09 season, by default.
The club made its first appearance in Division 2B the third level of Spanish football through a strange route, although they were beaten by CD Alcala 0-2 on aggregate in the Tercera division promotion playoffs they were still promoted. This was because Lorca Deportiva were relegated from 2B for lack of payment to its players and Moratalla took Lorca's place.
Moratalla made its first appearance in division 2B on 30 August 2009, in a 0–2 away loss against Real Murcia Imperial but the honeymoon didn't last long and at the end of that season they were eventually relegated.
Like Mazarron CF, Morattala CF were dissolved soon after relegation in the 2010-11 season due to economic problems, (sounds familiar?) and its place was bought by a recently founded club, FC Jumilla.
The team that we are playing are a Moratalla side that has risen from the ashes of that debacle.
The ride up to Moratalla is a great day out but be warned that the stadium is someway out of town so if you are stopping for something to eat prior to the game you need to start looking well before the ground, maybe in the town it self as you drive through it.
Last time I was there it had a nice canteen and facilaties but things might have changed since then. It is also "up in the hills" so wrap up well.
There are two ways of getting to Moratall, by Lorca or Caravaca and personally I would choose the latter, via Caravaca.
Join the A7 motorway at Alhama and travel towards Murcia. At the junction near to Alcantarilla take the exit towards C-4157/RM 15 towards Mula/Caravaca
Stay on this road for 36km until you take exit 57 towards B-36/Moratalla/C-3314/Calasparra/N-301/Madrid/Caravaca de la Cruz Oeste. The road to Moratalla is sign posted from there but here are further direction for you.
At the first roundabout after coming off at junction 57, take the 3rd exit onto B-36 sign posted MORATALLA. Stay on this road until it merges with the C-415 this will take you straight into Moratalla town.
Drive straight up the main road until the very end where you can go either left to the "Centro Urbano" or RIGHT towards BENIZAR/ CALASPARRA .TAKE THE RIGHT TURN.
This road will take you out of the town on one continues road to where the football ground is situated some 2 miles down that road on the right hand side. The turn off is well signed with a "CAMPO DE FUTBOL" on the right hand side of the road.
I hope that you have a good day out in Moratalla.
