NEW ORIENT BOSS
National League Leyton Orient have appointed former Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis as their new head coach on a two-year deal.
The 51-year-old will work alongside assistant coach Ross Embleton as they bid for an immediate return to the English Football League.
Davis was sacked as Crewe manager in January after more than five years in charge of the Railwaymen.
Orient begin their National League season at Sutton United on 5 August.

Torquay United player-manager Kevin Nicholson has left the National League club after almost two years in charge.
He is the first boss in England's top five divisions to depart from his position this season.
The 36-year-old left-back replaced Paul Cox in September 2015 and leaves the Devon club bottom of the fifth tier, with just one point from four games.
Assistant manager Robbie Herrera will take charge of the side for their trip to Guiseley on Saturday.
The Gulls avoided relegation by three points in both seasons with Nicholson in charge.

TWO FOREST EX MANAGERS ON THE MOVE
Dougie Freedman returns to Crystal Palace to take up a new role as sporting director.
Former Palace manager and player Freedman, 43, applied for the vacant head coach role at Hearts earlier this month, saying the Scottish Premiership side's director of football model would play to his strengths.
AND
Steve McClaren is back in football five months after being sacked by Derby County.
The 56-year-old former Manchester United assistant has joined Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv - managed by Jordi Cruyff - as a coaching consultant.
I hope they know what they're doing🤔

THE SHORTEST LASTING MANAGER IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE
This is hardly a huge shock...
Frank de Boer has been sacked by Crystal Palace just four games into the Premier League season and 77 days in charge. They’ve lost them all and sit second bottom, but will be there if West Ham take anything in their first home game of the season against Huddersfield tonight. The Eagles are yet to score a top flight goal.
Dougie Freedman as caretaker boss? Roy Hodgson has been linked, too.

AND 30 MINUTES LATER (That's fast, was the replacement in place?)
Former England manager Roy Hodgson has been appointed the new Crystal Palace boss after Frank de Boer was sacked on Monday.
De Boer lasted just 77 days and the decision to axe the Dutchman was taken following their fourth straight Premier League defeat without scoring.
And Palace have acted swiftly to bring in their seventh permanent manager since returning to the Premier League in 2013.
Hodgson has been out of a job since he stood down as manager of the national side following the disappointing knockout defeat to Iceland at Euro 2016.

IS IT POSSIBLE? COULD IT HAPPEN?
A Championship sacking in the offing?
Harry Redknapp could be facing the sack at Birmingham City this weekend after four straight Championship defeats if the Blues fail to beat Preston.
He’s in Nottingham this evening for an event at Alea Casino, so no prizes for guessing what the first question will be...
