After their win at home against Racing Murcia, SFC Minerva have clinched automatic promotion to the Tercera.
Bala Azul's win against Balsicas means they are now only 2 points short of automatic promotion.
It's still possible (just) for teams down to 12th place to get into the play-offs.
Meanwhile, at the other end, CD Lumbreras postponed the inevitable (relegation) for one week at least by beating their fellow basement strugglers from Montecasillas.
Apart from those two, a further 6 teams are still at risk.
One team to replace them will be CD Juvenia from the Primera.

Just a quick reminder of the rules:
Tercera and Preferente divisions relegate the bottom three teams.
Preferente and Primera divisions promote the top two teams automatically and there is then a play-off competition between the next FOUR teams for the one other promotion place.
Team 3 will play team 6 and team 4 will play team 5 over two legs. The winners will play a two-legged 'final' eliminator.
Unlike last year when there was chaos over the addition of two teams into the Tercera, I don't believe any such alterations are due this time.............?

AND THEN THERE IS ONLY 7 IN THE RUNNING FOR THE PLAYOFFS
Current positions of teams vying for promotion as at 23.4.2017
AUTOMATIC PROMOTION PLACES
1 MINERVA P 31 Points 69 (all ready promoted) 2 BALA AZUL P 31 Points 68 (all ready promoted)

Next weekend four of the seven clubs vying for a playoff place are playing each other, Cartagena FC v Los Garres and Molina v Balsicas, meanwhile FC Cartagena are away at already promoted Bala Azul and Alquerias are at home to mid table Murcia City. So I predict another shakeup is on the cards regarding league positioning.

After their win at the weekend and Bullense's draw, Alhama now need just two points from 9 to join Juvenia in next season's Preferente.
EDIT 29/4:
Which they duly got by winning 3-0 at Caravaca.

RELEGATION FROM THE PREFERENTE TO THE PRIMERA AUTONOMICA
With both Lumbreras and Montecasillas already relegated the final team to face the drop comes from a three way race to the trapdoor.
With just the two games to go here are the candidates:-
14th CD EL ESPARRAGAL P 32 Points 31 15th PLUS ULTRA P 32 Points 30 16th AD CARAVACA P 32 Points 29
The remaining games for these three teams are
CD EL Esparragal will play Molina (H) and Lumbreras (A)
Plus Ultra will play Mazarrón FC (A) and Caravaca (H)
Caravaca will play Jumilla (H) and Plus Ultra (A)
So who's your money on to go down? I'm going for CARAVACA

And Mazarron's first round play-off opponents will be Los Garres.
It just remains to be seen if the first game is at home or away depending on next week's results.
EDIT:
Strange how things pan out, isn't it? The other play-off games could be between FC Cartagena and CF Molina (old 'mister' Victor). With Alquerias having a fairly easy final game against Abanilla, it looks like Molina will need to win their final game of the regular season to get the last play-off place. And, who should that be against? Would you believe it.......FC CARTAGENA!
