NEXT AWAY GAME
BALSICAS ATLÉTICO v MAZARRÓN F.C.
6pm (18.00) Sunday 18th 2016
This will be yet another new opponent and another new destination for me as I cannot bring to mind a competitive game I have seen Mazarrón FC play against Balsicas Atlético.
Before we move onto the upcoming fixture let's remind ourselves of what happened last weekend:-
Mazarrón FC entertained AD Caravaca when, despite a good performance by our boys, we were defeated 1-4 including no less that THREE penalties awarded to the visitors. This scoreline was the direct responsibility of the extremely inept standard of the bias match officials and not the fault of our team. The referee and both touch line officials were just shocking. Read Dave Cappers match report to see what I mean.
Meanwhile Balsicas Atlético were on their travels at Monticasillas. The final score of that game was a 1-1 draw after Balsicas were denied all three points following a 89th minute equaliser by Monticasillas which led to a member of the Balsicas coaching staff seeing a red card. It sounds like a feisty affair with another 10 players being booked. Monticasillas do like their late goals as Mazarrón can testify to from our opening game of the season when a late Monticasillas goal caused our demise.
Balsicas Atlético play their games at the "LOS CIPRESES" stadium and for those of you travelling independently the coordinates for the ground are 37° 49' 25" N, 00° 57' 23" W with an address of Calle Carlos Fuentes and is just off the the RM 19.
The ground is situated on the northern edge of the village as part of newish sports complex which contains a full sized football pitch a training half size pitch, both having an artificial surfaces and other sporting facilities. There is seating down one side of the ground and it also has the usual canteen and toilet facilities near to the entrance. Travelling time to the ground is approximately 45 minutes with a travelling distance of 52 KM.
Details of the away coach will be posted as soon as they are available.
Balsicas Atlético play at home with a blue shirt and black shorts so Mazarrón FC will be in their usual red strip and blue shorts.
Last season our opponents played in the division below us and were promoted from Primera Autonomica finishing in 5th place but gaining promotion via the normal route of filling additional promotion places due to other sides folding.
At this early stage in the season here are the current league positions of both sides
Balsicas Atlético P 3 W 1 D 2 L 0 GF 7 GA 3 Points 5
Mazarrón FC P 3 W 0 D 1 L 2 GF 1 GA 5 Points 1
Team news will be posted as it becomes available.
