At a recent meeting of the town council it was approved that out ground WILL be converted to an all weather astro turf surface with the work starting in Apri/May with a June completion date.
Slowly but surely the stadium is starting to be returned to the standard it use to be.
Well done to Jose for all the hard work that he has put in to bring the ground and facilities that the teams and supporters use up to such a high standard.

Sunday 23rd February 2014
Today, as we watched the cadete game, I met the club president and the Mazarron sports councillor and we spoke about the work to be carried out at the home ground of Mazarron FC to change the playing surface from grass to astro turf.
It has been arranged that the work will commence towards the end of the season, May/June, thereby reducing the amount of time needed for Mazarron FC to relocate to another ground whilst the work is undertaken, although we might still have to play a couple of games at another 'home' location.
This makes sense on both the playing and financial sides of the coin. But have no doubts that this work will go ahead and be completed prior to the start of next season.

Tuesday 11th March 2014
I have again spoken to Jose re the resurfacing of our home ground.
He informs me that 3 companies have bid to undertake the work. Sealed bids are to be submitted to the Mazarron council by Wednesday 12th March 2014, there will then be a short consultation period to select the best bid. This bid is for the work both at our ground and Bala Azul's ground.
When the company is selected work will take place at both grounds at the same time. Jose has identified a couple of suitable locations to play any home fixture needed to be played during the time the work is being undertaken.
I will post on this forum any further information as and when I get it.

Jose informs me that the replacement pitch will be in place by 14th June which is an important date as he is organising an end of season game against opposition from a higher division, details at a later date. So Mazarron FC have played their last game on grass until it has to be replaced again when we reach La Liga. Jose has got his head together with Javi and they have come up with a plan to change the "home dug out" with the 'visitors' dugout, Why? They feel that the linesman on our side of the pitch is often being unfairly pressurised by the visiting teams 'bench' with the game against Esparragal being a classic case of that 4th official being badgered into making some strange decisions in the second half including the goal that wasn't. Jose said that there is rarely a problem with the touchline judge opposite our stand as there a few if any supporters there putting pressure on that official. Anyway they are going to try it as from next season. Mazarron's ground will be the first to be resurfaced followed by Bala Azul. Arrangement as to where we will be playing our remaining 2 home games are still being sorted with two options being considered. News as soon as the location has been confirmed.
