It's that time of year to be POSITIVE again!
Who will we be playing next season when we are back in the Tercera?
Every year there is a struggle for some teams to get sufficient financial support to take up their places in the leagues. This gives opportunities for teams in lower divisions to take up the spare places. Furthermore, the Tercera itself will be increased by two teams from 18 to 20. Although any team relegated from Division 2B will complicate this (and F.C. Jumilla are only a point away from the 2B trap-door with one game to play). All this means Mazarron have a great chance of promotion, even if they don't win through the full play-off process.
The top two teams of the Preferente will go up to the Tercera automatically. That will be Sangonera UCAM and La Hoya Lorca. It is highly likely that a further two teams will get the spare places. One of those would be Olimpico de Totana. The other will come from Mazarron, Minerva, Cieza, Algar or Montecasillas. As, of course, will the winner of the play-offs.
So let's look at who might comprise next season's Tercera................
2015/16 Mid-table Tercera teams not involved in promotion/relegation are:
7 ... CF El Castillo (Huercal Overa)
8 ... Real Murcia Imperial CF
9 ... CD Minera
10 ... Muleño CF
11 ... Espinardo Atlético
12 ... EDMF Churra
13 ... CAP Ciudad de Murcia
14 ... Club Atlético Pulpileño
F.C. Jumilla are in danger of dropping out of Div 2B.
Teams promoted from the Preferente:
1 - SANGONERA UCAM C.F.
2 - LA HOYA LORCA C.F.
So, apart from a couple of visits to Almeria, not a lot of places to enthuse over I'm afraid.
I'll update this list after the final regular season games this weekend.
