Before I go into details about next weekends game I just want to have a look at the next three opponents and try to get an overview on the possible outcomes and points realistically we should be able to harvest.
The games are:
Mazarron FC v CD Bullense
La Hoya Lorca CF 'B' v Mazarron FC
Mazarron FC v CD Juvenia
The first of the three is next weekends opponents CD Bullense. They are hovering around that final relegation place, vying with Bala Azul as to just who will be going down. Having beaten them convincingly last December away 0-4 I would be hoping for 3 points at home.
Next up is an away game at La Hoya, a different kettle of fish altogether. La Hoya will be still in a three way tie for one of the two automatic promotion places with Totana and Sangonera so they won't be doing Mazarron any favours. It's on their home ground, where we suffered a drumming last season, with a hostile crowd and an unfamiliar surface. If Mazarron get anything from this encounter it would be a bonus, but having said that we did draw 0-0 with them earlier this season.
And finally we are back at home for the final game of the regular season and it's the complete basket case that is CD Juvenia.
CD Juvenia are already relegated and with only a couple of wins all season. Their goals for and against are the worse in the league. They can't win, they have only scraped a few draws and are already down. We went to their ground and came away with a 1-2 win which was more comfortable than the score line makes out. This has just got to be 3 points, surely?
So three games, I reckon 6 or 7 points and if I'm right that could/should see us into the playoffs where anything could happen.
So let's get back to the first of those three games.
NEXT HOME GAME
MAZARRÓN FC v CD BULLENSE
6pm (18.00) Sunday 8th May 2016
Let's have another look at what happened that the two sides met last December, here is a résumé of that great away game.
CD BULLENSE 0 MAZARRON FC 4 (13.12.2015)
Both sides settled quickly but it was Mazarron who took the lead on 12 minutes from a corner on the left the ball was crossed in for Juan Andreo to head powerfully into the net. 0-1
Even though top scorer Jose had to go off injured Mazarron still pushed forward in search of a second goal and that came on the stroke of half time when Silverio force the ball over the line to increase Mazarron's lead. 0-2
The visitors weathered an early second half storm and gradually got back in control of the game as their defence took over again ably marshalled by captain Juan Andreo and twenty minutes into the second half Mazarron scored for the third time when a pass from Silverio saw Palote racing past several players before smashing a strong shot past the Bullense keeper. 0-3
Substitute Juanma entered the fray and within two minutes his perfect pass allowed Willy to fire a strong shot into the net for his first goal for the club. 0-4
Bullense were by now a totally dispirited team and Mazarron were happy to continue to pass the ball around to see out the final minutes.
WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEKEND?
Mazarron FC were away at close rivals for a playoff place, Los Garres, when they went behind to an early goal which was quickly cancelled out by man of the match Juanma only to gift Los Garres an 89th minute free headed goal. Points thrown away and Mazarron drop out of the playoff places.
Meanwhile CD Bullense were at home against, who else but, CD Algar when they were on the end of a 1-4 home defeat and in doing so drop into the relegation zone.
CURRENT STATS
7th MAZARRON FC P 31 W 14 D 9 L 8 GF 52 GA 41 Points 51
16th CD BULLENSE P 31 W 6 D 8 L 17 GF 28 GA 57 Points 26
WHO TO LOOK OUT FOR?
You'll not be surprise to learn that CD Bullenses top marksman has but 7 goals to his name and he is Carlos Navarro Talavera and he normally wears the number 11 shirt. His strike partner, also with 7 goals is Fernando Jose Espin Jimenez who had the number 8 on his back. But after these two you have to go way down the list to find the next best scorer.
