NEXT AWAY GAME
CF MOLINA v MAZARRON FC
Scheduled for Sunday 3rd April 2016
(This season Molina have played almost all of their home games on a Sunday)
Following our weekend off for the International/Easter break (none of the Mazarron player were selected for their national squads) we now have only 8 games left to play this season and for our next match we are on the road to CF Molina.
Last season there were two division between Mazarron FC and CF Molina but after finishing 17th in the Tercera division Molina were relegated whilst Mazarron gained promotion. And as Mazarron have gone from strength to strength and sit in 4th position in the league still pushing for promotion CF Molina have struggled and are looking over their shoulders at the relegation places as they are in 13th place. At this time they have only won 8 game from a possible 26 games.
So we meet in the Preferente autonomica for the second time this season to do battle. And here is a résumé of what happened in the reverse fixture last November, and it makes good reading.
MAZARRON FC 4 CF MOLINA 1 (8.11.2015)
Mazarron make it five wins and a draw from the last six games.
After a slow and nervy start Mazarron started to take the game by the scruff of the neck in the 30th minute when a free kick found, of all people, Mounir and he cleverly side stepped the keeper before slotting the ball home.
And that's how it stayed until halftime. But soon after the restart a through ball found Palote and with the Molina defenders appealing for offside, he ran on and fired a shot past the keeper.
Mazarron total dominated now lead to that man again, Mounir, charging forward combining with Palote creating space for Champi to make it 3-0 for Mazarron.
In the 67 minute the Molina defence was sliced open again by Mazarron's attacking players and saw Palote placing a shot into the net for his second goal of the game. 4-0
Molina gained a consolation goal on 72 minutes but it was Mazarron who finished the game strongest and could have easily added to their scoreline. The last incident of note was the Molina's manager being sent off late on following further heated exchanges with the match officials which gave the home supporters more reasons to go home happy.
WHAT HAPPENED TO SIDES LAST TIME OUT?
Mazarron FC were at home to Minerva where despite going down to 10 men ran out 2-1 winners with goals from Palote (then a red card) and Champi, off the crossbar and over the line like Geoff Hurst.
Meanwhile CF Molina were away at CD Algar, that game finished CD Agar 1 CF Molina 0
CURRENT STATS
4th MAZARRON FC P 26 W 13 D 6 L 7 GF 46 GA 36 Points 45
13th CF MOLINA P 26 W 8 D 4 L 14 GF 31 GA 41 Points 28
PLAYERS TO LOOK OUT FOR
You have to look a long, long way down the list to find a CF Molina player who has score any amount of goals. Their top striker at the moment is Pedro Susarte Parraga but he has only 4 goals to his name and the rest of Molina's goals come from players who have scored the odd goal, maybe that's what their problem has been this season.
Whilst collectively the team has scored 31 goals there hasn't been that out and out striker or two to keep the scoreboard ticking over and at the other end they have conceded a hat full of goal and at 41 goals against them they are in a very large negative situation with regards to goal difference, mInus 10 to be precise, one of the worst in the league.
HOW TO GET THERE AND STADIUM INFORMATION.
As usual the Los Amigos supporters club will be laying on an away coach to this fixture and details of that coach will be published on the Los Amigos Facebook site and the Mazarron forum at www.mazarronfc.es when they become available. For those making their own way there here are some details about getting there and about the stadium.
CF Molina play in Molina de Segura which is situated just to the North West of Murcia city and acts as a dormitory suburb of the city. The ground is well outside of Molina de Segura to the west and is called the Estadio Municipal Sánchez Cánovas. It can be found on Camino de la Arboleja with co ordinates of 38° 03' 03" N, 01° 13' 31" W if you are travelling on the away coach it might be an idea to note these details down just in case the driver gets lost, again. The ground is 53KM and about 36 minutes from Camposol. The stadium is said to be able of containing 4,500 fans, hmmmm see what you think when you get there, maybe they added an extra 0 in error.
Personally I cannot recall visiting this stadium as in the past as they have played at many different locations around Molina so I cannot verify the facilities at the stadium. From the Google street map the ground is in a 'L' shape with a small practice pith to one side of the main ground which has a natural surface, there is seating along one side of the pitch and the stadium appears to have the usual amenities block and canteen. This stadium is in a very, very rural situation, let's hope for light winds on the day as it is rather exposed.
CF Molina play in BLUE shirts and shorts so we should be in our usual RED shirts but with red shorts.
SUSPENSIONS AND OTHER TEAM NEWS
Details of any suspensions or team news will be posted on the forum and Facebook site as soon as we get them, but we will definitely be without Palote and Mounir who both received red cards last time out and possibly Juanma who is on 5 yellow cards.
