NEXT AWAY GAME.
Next up for Mazarron FC is an away trip to lowly AD Alquerias with the game schedule for Saturday 27th or Sunday 28th February 2016
AD Alquerias finished in a respectable 11th place last season in the Preferente autonomica division but they are not having such a good time this season and they are one of the four teams currently fighting over the three relegation places in the league.
I have fond memories of this away trip as we have, in the past, been very successful on our visits there, and at the early stages of this season a resounding win for Mazarron FC at home helped to kick start our season after an indifferent start and here is what happened:-
MAZARRON FC 4 AD ALQUERIAS 0 (11.10.2015).
Mazarron took the lead after 12 minutes when Hafid was brought down in the area and Juan Andreo converted the penalty kick with ease.
Mazarron scored their second goal four minutes before the interval. Two shots on goal were blocked before the ball fell to the feet of Juanito who smashed it into the net.
Mazarron nearly made it three before half time when Hafid headed onto a post but it went out for a goal kick.
Champi made his mark when a crossed from the right wing allowed him to slot the ball into the net after 49 minutes to make the score 3-0.
With a three goal cushion, Mazarron now sat back for a little while and allowed Alquerias more time on the ball. However, with time running out the Alquerias keeper handling the ball outside the penalty area and he was promptly sent off by the referee. (If only that had happened in Totana two games ago!!) With three minutes remaining Mazarron made it 4-0 when Juanito ran onto a through ball and fire past the substitute goalkeeper for his second goal of the game
WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEKEND?
Mazarron FC were playing the second of their two consecutive games at home against SC ÁGUILEÑO where the outcome was an unrepresentative 2-0 win, it should have been many, many more. Mazarron must start finishing off all of their chances and put weak opposition to the sword. But with close rivals drawing their games Mazarron have re-established a two point cushion to the sides below them.
Meanwhile AD Alquerias were away at CD Algar and were stuffed 3-1 with the Águileño only goal coming from the penalty spot. Jose Ruben came on as a half time substitute for CD Algar, he scored but didn't get booked, is this a record for the Mazarron 'old boy?'
CURRENT STATS

15th AD ALQUERIAS P 22 W 4 D 3 L 15 GF 23 GA 59 Points 15
AD ALQUERIAS PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR
AD Alquerias have one player who has 5 goals and that is a certain Ruben Andreu Muñoz with their next best only having three to his name. You can see then why they only have 23 goals in the goals for column and have a minus 36 goal difference at this time.
And they are a side who really racks up the yellow cards so the sanctions, when available, might make interesting reading.
STADIUM INFORMATION AND HOW TO GET TO THE GAME
AD Alquerias play in a very neat but smallish ground situated to the North East of Murcia city the ground being called Los Pinos, and the stadium is at the edge of the village of Alquerias. The ground is 66KM and about 50 minutes away from Camposol.
The playing surface is 3D artificial and was of top notch quality the last time we visited. There is plastic seating down one side of the ground, the amenities block is modern if a bit small, so those with a weak bladder make sure that you are front of the queue, and they also have a decent canteen.
The pitch is laid out Northish to southish so the sun doesn't effect the keepers as much as it does at some grounds. The pitch is well sheltered so strong winds like we had at Mazarron recently doesn't effect the game as much. At this time the wether forecast for the game is for a sunny day with a few clouds with the temperature around the 20 centigrade mark.
AD Alquerias play in an all red strip so we will be in our away BLUE away strip. Please note that following the Totana game items of the alternative BLACK away strip have gone missing/lost such as shorts and socks so it is unlikely that we will be using it again this season.
The Los Amigos supporters club will be laying on the usual away coach, €8 for members and €10 for non members, and for those of you independently travelling the co ordinates of the ground are 38° 00' 36" N, 01° 02' 13" W or put Camino de los Pinos de Alquerías 30580 Murcia into your sat nav and it will take you there.
