Next up for Mazarron FC at home is the visit of Beniajan CF and we already know the match details.
MAZARRON FC v BENIAJAN CF
Kick off 4.30pm (16.30)
SUNDAY 24th JANUARY 2016
We meet Beniajan CF for the second time this season next weekend with the first, away, game finishing up as a 1-1 draw and here is what happened in that first encounter:-
BENIAJAN CF 1 MAZARRON FC 1 (13.9.2015)
Mazarron gained their first point of the season with a hard fought 1-1 draw away to Beniajan.
Mazarron's newly formed team had the better of the first half. Mazarron were denied an opening goal on 20 minutes following a free kick by Jose. The ball fell to Alberto whose follow up shot was deflected into the net by Silverio but Mazarron were denied an opening goal by the linesman's offside flag. On 32 minutes a superb through ball found Jose racing down the left wing and his cross found Juanito whose shot on the turn was blocked on the goal line. Three minutes later Santi went close with a free kick from the left which went just over the bar.
But it was Beniajan who took the lead just two minutes into the second half when long ball found a Beniajan player in an offside position but he was allowed to run on and place the ball past Antonio in the Mazarron goal.
However Mazarron then began to get back into the game and deservedly equalised after 70 minutes with the best move of the game. Silverio raced down the right wing and his perfect cross found Jose who calmly steered the ball past the Beniajan keeper.
Further chances went begging for Mazarron who had to settle for their first point of the season.
LAST WEEKEND
Mazarron travelled to league leaders Sangonera where they were denied at least one point, if not three, by some atrocious decisions my the match officials and a couple of poor defensive errors which need to be cut out if Mazarron are to maintain their push for an automatic promotion spot. Sangonera won by a 4-2 score line one, I bet even they can't figure out how they did it.
Meanwhile Beniajan were at home to CD Algar with the game finishing as a 0-0 draw.
These results leave Mazarron FC in 4th position whilst Beniajan are in 12th
CURRENT STATS
MAZARRON FC P 18 W 9 D 4 L 5 GF 33 GA 25 Points 31
BENIAJAN CF P 18 W 6 D 6 L 6 GF 21 GA 22 Points 24
SANCTIONS/ SUSPENSIONS
Mazarron will be without out excellent central defender Lorca who was harshly sent off at Sangonera for a second yellow card after he was fouled, his assailant received no punishment, Lorca trying to quickly restart the game but was denied the opportunity to do so when that same Sangonera defender refused to move from in front of the ball, Lorca pushed him away, which led to a second yellow and off.
I will post other sanctions/suspensions/injuries when they are available.
NEXT GAME.
Following the Beniajan game we have a one week break for some reason and the return to action on the weekend of 6th/7th February when we travel to close rivals Totana.
