Details of our next away game
C.D. JUVENIA v MAZARRÓN F.C.
4.15pm (16.15) Sunday 10th January 2016
For our first away game of 2016 and the last game of the first half of the 2015/16 season, we will be visiting one of our regular opponents in the shape of CD Juvenia who play their games in Pozo Estrecho.
Last season we played CD Juvenia 4 times, twice in the regular season and twice in the semi finals of the promotion play off's. Of those game we beat them 1-2 at their place before drawing 1-1 at Mazarron with Juvenia parking the bus for the game and equalising with a late, late penalty.
In the play off semi final games it was again a close fought battle both home and away with us drawing 2-2 at Pozo Estrecho and 1-1 at home for us to go through on the away goals rule. Mazarron FC gained promotion after defeating Esparragal over two legs whilst CD Juvenia ascended to the Preferente division when another vacancy became available and were promoted down their higher league position than Esparragal, only in Spain!
Whilst Mazarron had stormed to a clear 3rd place in the league at the end of 2015, although be it after a sticky start to the season, and when we beat La Hoya on Wednesday we will go clear in 2nd place. Meanwhile CD Juvenia are down in 16th place in a league of 18 teams with only 2 wins so far and only 10 points.
LAST WEEKENDS GAMES (3/1/2016)
CD Juvenia were away at CD Algar last weekend where the result was a 0-0 draw, which I suppose isn't that such a bad result. Whilst Mazarron FC take on La Hoya Lorca at home on Wednesday 6th January.
CURRENT STATS (Mazarron FC with 1 game in hand)
5th MAZARRON FC P 15 W 8 D 3 L 5 GF 29 GA 20 Points 27
16th CD JUVENIA P 16 W 2 D 4 L 10 GF 14 GA 33 Points 10
SUSPENSIONS
Details of suspended players will be posed here as we get them.
THEIR STADIUM
CD Juvenia play at the Rafael Garcia stadium which has a natural surface surrounded by a running track. There is seating down one side made of concrete so bring a cushion. They have a nice canteen with all the usual food and drink on offer and the toilet block is OK, there is ample free parking outside of the ground.
GETTING TO THE GAME
Details of the away coach will be posted here as soon as we get them.
For independent travellers the co ordinates to the ground are 37° 42' 18" N, 01° 00' 05" W and as I have previously said they play at the RAFAEL GARCÍA stadium which has a natural grass surface, although not a very good one going on previous years with it tending to be quite boggy if it has been raining.
It is a simple route to Pozo Estrecho. Leave Camposol and join the RM 3 dual carriageway traveling North, take the road, RM 23, passed Polaris world until you reach the large traffic island at the end.
Take the first turning to join the RM2 dual carriageway travelling away from Alhama. Stay on this road until you join the A30 Cartagena - Murcia motorway. Travel south on the A30 towards Cartagena. The first junction, 176, is sign posted MU 311 POZO ESTRECHO.
Follow the MU311 into the village some 3 KM away and in the centre of Pozo Estrecho follow the signs to the campo de futbol which it is situated behind a school complex.
There is an excellent restaurant in the village which sells a full range of food and the last time I was there the pizzas were spot on.
